"For You" was commissioned by the Cathedral Chapter as the Cathedral’s contribution to Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture 2008. It is a pink neon, written in the artist’s handwriting, with the words: ‘I felt you and I knew you loved me.’ In 2009 Emin was the winner of the Art and Christianity Enquiry (ACE) Award for Art in a Religious Context for this work. The previous year this work also enabled the Cathedral to win the first Liverpool Chamber of Commerce Arts Award.

About this work, the artist writes: “The Church has always been a place, for me, for contemplation. I wanted to make something for Liverpool Cathedral about love and the sharing of love. Love is a feeling which we internalise; a feeling very hard to explain. I thought it would be nice for people to sit in the Cathedral and have a moment to contemplate the feelings of love, it’s something we just don’t have enough time to think about and I hope this work creates this space in time.”

"Enstantane" Buluşuyor!

Merhaba Arkadaşlar,

Daha önce de planladığımız, ancak hava muhalefetinden ertelemek zorunda kaldığımız "Enstantane" fotoğraf paylaşım grubu gezisini 1 Haziran'da gerçekleştireceğiz.

Bu ilk gezi olacağından; daha çok tanışma toplantısı gibi olacak sanırım!...

Gezi programı şöyle olacak:

10:30 Küçükyalı Çamlık çay bahçesinde buluşma (sahilde, Maltepe Kültür ve Nikah Merkezinin 100 m ilerisinde, ücretli otopark var!) :)

13:00 Bostancı vapur iskelesinden Büyükada'ya Hareket

13:40 Adaya varış ve yoklama :)

Faytonla Aya Yorgi Kilise'sine çıkan yokuşa ulaşım. Yaklaşık 20 dk. sürüyor!

Daha sonra Aya Yorgi Kilise'sine tırmanış! Bu yokuştan fayton çıkamıyor, yürümekten başka bir ulaşım şekli yok! :)) Parke taştan oluşan dik bir yokuş, çıkış süresi yaklaşık 30 dk. sürüyor. Ama zirveye varmanın keyfi tüm yorgunluğu unutturuyor! :)

Yerin ismi Yücetepe, sucuk ekmek oldukça meşhur! tercihe göre dileyen dilediğini yiyip içebilir! Aya Yorgi gezilebilir, dilekler dilenebilir! Kilise içinde fotoğraf çekmek yasak. Dışarıda her istediğinizi çekebilirsiniz. :)

Güneşin tamamen batması sanırım 1 Haziran'da 21:00'ı bulacaktır.

Dönüş yolu da yine aynı şekilde yokuştan aşağıya inerek başlayacak. Bu 15 dk sürüyor. Yürüyerek iskeleye inmek istenirse bu da yaklaşık 45 dk. sürüyor... :)

Dün ben ve Komşum Birsen bizzat tatbik ettik bu geziyi. Dönüş yolunu yürüyerek tamamladık! 15 dk yokuştan iniş ve 45 dk yolun geri kalanı olmak üzere, bir saatte iskeleye ulaştık... :) Yorucu ama oldukça keyifli bir geziydi. Birsen'e de katkılarından dolayı teşekkürler ediyorum.

dönüş işin: 18:45 ve 21:30'da Kabataş'a

19:00, 19:15, 21:00, 21:10 ve 23:30'da da Bostancı'ya vapur var.

İskeleden Aya Yorgi'ye fayton 16 lira, fayton dört kişilik ve fiyat kişi başı değil araba başı! :))
