I baked & designed some sugar cookies just in time for Valentine's Day, from my heart to all of yours! Hope you like them =)

Oggi è lutto nazionale.

Quando ho scattato questa foto non sapevo ancora quando e come pubblicarla; mi dava però un senso di solitudine vedere quell'immagine, che ho da subito immaginato in bianco e nero.

Penso che bianco e nero insieme siano in grado di trasmettere da soli più emozioni di mille parole.

Vedere quel tronco, lì, in riva al mare, come fosse fuori luogo, come si sentisse esso stesso abbandonato a se stesso, ad un mare di gente che ride e scherza ma non si sofferma quasi mai sulla sua presenza, mi dà, ora, la percezione di come possano sentirsi quelle persone, quelle anime spezzate, quelle decine e decine di famiglie distrutte e prive del loro habitat, spaesate, fuori luogo. Tristi. Cupe.

Noi qui, a ridere e non valorizzare fino in fondo ciò che abbiamo; loro lì a capire cosa hanno realmente perso: tutto.

Il mio pensiero va a voi, il mio cuore è con voi.

E voglio sperare che però, come questo tronco ha un suo fascino intrinseco, dato dalla capacità di essere immortalato e rendere una qualche forma di percezione, anche quelle persone godano, magari non subito, di consapevolezza, di bellezza intrinseca, della speranza che nulla può essere finito del tutto.

Arriverà qualcuno che fotograferà, arriverà qualcuno che vi donerà un sorriso.

This is for all of you...I'm touched by the friendships I've made because of Flickr. I'm blessed and thankful for your support, love and friendship. Thank You!

Again, I went to my favorite place this morning and walked the Medicine Wheel, saying prayers, giving thanks, and communing with those who have passed on. People leave offerings on each of the directional stones and this little heart was there this morning. The dogs were busy hunting for mice and running in the snow and we all enjoyed the peace of a brand new day together.

What a glorious day!!!

It reminded me of you.
