Forgive me. :-) I've posted two pics of Snoquera falls already, one for perspective, one because I loved that comp best, this one.... well once again, loves me some rocks and this freaking new settup I have is just chair spin awesome when you look at these on a 27 inch hd monitor . I was just chatting with Gary Walters and I got all excited again and thought of this one, can't wait for a day off to shoot more.
Blow this up as large as you can, love it. :-)
Forgive me, I've posted pictures of this species before. But each time you see them, it's magnificent! I also cleared the background out in my editing in one of the pictures.

Summer is a busy season and it looks like that I will have time to upload new images but not always comment on your beautiful photos. I hope you forgive me. Short winter days and long nights are coming sooner than one expects! We should all enjoy summer and sunshine and be creative in photography!

Another image from my kestrel series. This image is a testament to the importance of observing bird/animal behavior for wildlife photography. American Kestrels are not large birds. In fact, there are a couple of mourning doves in my backyard now that are bigger than this kestrel. The diminutive size makes them a target for large raptors, so they are constantly on the vigil and definitely skittish around humans. It was extremely frustrating trying to photograph this bird as it never allowed me the opportunity to get close.
But one thing I learned watching the bird was the telltale signs of takeoff. The perch shot of the bird was the closest he has yet allowed me. At a certain point, I noticed him showing signs of taking off. I was ready this time, and I filled my D500’s buffer with images of a beautiful takeoff. One thing to note, though, I was shooting at 1/2500th of a sec but still got some motion blur in some of the images. I will try a faster shutter speed next time.

While my plan for photography locations at Valley of Fire SP did not initially include the Instagram viewpoint, once I was there, I was obsessed with finding something a little bit more unique than the standard composition. After a few trials, I had this idea to see if I could use the road as a solid diagonal element in the frame, as I have had success with that type of image before. So, I walked a bit farther away from the viewpoint and crossed the road to climb another rock looking for my composition.
While the view looked somewhat like what I had in my mind, the unique shape of the rock didn’t allow me to get to the spot I wanted. So, the road ended up being less of a diagonal element and more of a leading line. Still quite a vital part of the compositions, but the gorgeous light on the rocks and the mountain in the background do most of the heavy work to make this image work. I used focus shift shooting to get the frame entirely in focus and later put it together using Helicon focus. One of my favorite images from this spot.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Lilitus: Not very well, it seems.
(RandomR1 keeps his mouth shut.)
Lilitus: So, either he left on his own, or the tenet was here, and freed him. (she surveys the razers around her) You have forgotten what they are like, or you've become sloppy, for lack of battle. I will show this tenet that they are of no consequence. The Assembly will take place, and if she tries to interfere, she will die. Where is Trajan?
RandomR1: Awaiting your summons.
Lilitus: Consider him summoned.
(RandomR1 rises to fetch Trajan.)
Lilitus: No, not you. Trajan could disappear under your supervision.
RandomR1: Glorious Perfection, forgive me for my failure to please you!
Lilitus: Of course I forgive you. (she smiles, her eyes glancing to one of her bodyguards)
(The bodyguard swiftly steps forward, delivering a sword slash through the razer's heart. With a look of shock, RandomR1 collapses on the floor. The bodyguard decapitates RandomR1, and a golden mist pours from the neck, pooling on the floor before evaporating.)
Lilitus: But that sort of negligence can't happen again. (her eyes pan around the room, and all of the razers assume straighter postures.)

Well, I'm back online after not one but two computers failed on me. Fortunately I was able to restore one by installing a new power supply but I'm afraid my laptop has gone to wherever computers go when they die - must be in a cyber cave somewhere?

The only way I could capture the whole of this church in a very cluttered area was to use AI tools to completely get rid of the background and replace it with a fake one. So here it is for what it’s worth.
