John Muir: All the wild world is beautiful, and it matters but little where we go, to highlands or lowlands, woods or plains, on the sea or land or down among the crystals of waves or high in a balloon in the sky; through all the climates, hot or cold, storms and calms, everywhere and always we are in God's eternal beauty and love. All art is but imitation of nature.-- Seneca (Letters from a Stoic - Letter LXV: On the First Cause)
The universe itself is God and the universal outpouring of its soul. --Chrysippus (Quoted by Cicero in De Natura Deorum)
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells. --To Autumn. by John Keats
Vosges.
The Copernicus Sentinel-2B satellite captured this image over Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana on 2 September, just ahead of the Sentinel-2C launch.
Europe's Spaceport is situated in the northeast of South America in French Guiana, an overseas department of France. The spaceport lies northwest of Kourou, a coastal town on the estuary of the Kourou River, both visible near the centre of the image. After running for 144 km, the river flows into the Atlantic Ocean. The brownish hue of its muddy waters is most likely the result of sediment gathered from the nearby forest.
White, sandy beaches stretch along the ocean coast north of Kourou, while the riverbank and the interior regions are mostly covered by mangroves and dense tropical rainforest.
The spaceport is home to the ESA-developed Ariane and Vega rocket families, whose launch pads can be spotted in the top left corner of the image.
Thanks to its geographical position near the equator, the spaceport is ideally placed as launchers benefit from increased velocity owing to the ‘slingshot’ effect, created by the speed of Earth’s rotation.
From here, the third Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite, Sentinel-2C, launched on 5 September aboard the final Vega rocket.
The Sentinel-2 mission is based on a constellation of two identical satellites flying in the same orbit but 180° apart: currently Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B. With Sentinel-2C now in orbit, it will soon replace its predecessor, Sentinel-2A, prolonging the life of the mission and ensuring a continuous supply of data for Copernicus, the Earth observation component of the EU Space Programme.
Sentinel-2 data are currently being used for a broad range of applications, including agriculture, water quality monitoring, methane emissions detection and natural disaster management, including wildfires, volcanic eruptions and floods.

Lake Delton is the place for water sport during the summer. It is also the place for ice fun during the winter. You can see the snow machine tracks on the ice. Thank you for your comments and faves.
[ENG] The Chestnut forest of El Tiemblo (Ávila, Spain) it is a small forest of municipal property placed to approximately 1.100 m. of altitude in the header of the Reservation of Iruelas's Valley, to approximately 100 km from Madrid. It is the most extensive chestnut forest of the Central System, and on the autumnal station -the most showy and colouring- its paths are crossed by numerous visitors. Along the route we will be able to observe different species of trees and shrubs that they accompany on the chestnut-tree or form a part of the undergrowth of the chestnut forest (white hawthorn, hazel, elm of mountain, cherry, willows, holly, alder-tree, birch, heathers, ferns...). A section of the path passes parallel to the creek of the throat of the Yedra (Ivy), with it waters down all the year round and with a row of alder-trees that forming a small forest of gallery they wind close to the creek. With luck we can contemplate some species of birds of forest character (mocking-bird, blue climber, blackbird, thrush...).

Homer: Tell me, O muse, of that ingenious hero who traveled far and wide after he had sacked the famous town of Troy. Many cities did he visit, and many were the nations with whose manners and customs he was acquainted; moreover he suffered much by sea while trying to save his own life and bring his men safely home. . . --Homer's Odyssey

It was a hot and sticky day in the Central Valley of California and we
decided it was time to get out. Driving up in to Yosemite just yielded a
crowded and hot Yosemite Valley so we kept going higher and higher.
Reaching the top of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range at an elevation of
9,646 feet we arrived at Lake Ellery and pulled over at the far end. There
wasn't much to see as a small hill blocked the view of the lake. I climbed
up over the top of the hill and some large rocks till I could see this
vista of the lake. Finally it was cool outside and what a view. I
stayed taking pictures for a while as a ground squirrel popped in an out of
the rocks. But eventually as is often the case, it was time to head back
down to the valley and towards home. This is pretty much how many of my
days go just hunting for a place with spectacular scenery to take pictures
of. Often we don't even know where we will end up when we start.
Sometimes we never find the right spot but more often than not, we do find
some great views. California is a great place for a photographer to live
and I enjoy each moment and we live in a day and age where much of it is
easily accessible. If you have the time and the desire and the time, a
drive up and over the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range will do your soul a world
of good.
Enjoy
