Whatcom Falls Park is a really amazing urban park. There is a fish hatchery, a pond, a canyon with multiple waterfalls and a WPA-era stone bridge. The forest is deep and cool. A really nice place to walk and unwind.

Went to the cabin on a rainy day. The woods were carpeted with moss and mushrooms were everywhere. I loved how the rain saturated the colors. This shot and the one in the comments are SOOC although I was tempted to desaturate all that greenness:)

I've been away far too long, and I do so hope to find my way back here.

Life has been crazy, possibly, I, myself, have been a little crazy, I guess that may be the only explanation

I will try to catch up with all of you by the weekend. I've missed your treasures so very much

Much Love xoxo

And into the forest I go to lose my mind and find my soul!

The dog is approaching with a lot of noise....when coming close it's okay and quiet. It lives on a farm, at the left.

As the river of water meandered through the forest, we too meandered with it, but sticking close to the well worn path. With each step, we kept moving lower into the forest realizing that at some point it would be necessary to climb back up. Fortunately, the many wonders of nature prevented us from moving too quickly.

The undulating floor and various bare roots, made one look were one was walking. A vividly green fern helps too anchor this shot, while thriving in a crevasse among the moss covered rocks. And, the cloud covered sky helped even out the light, preventing any harsh shadows.

Redwoods Forest is a forest of naturalised Californian coastal redwood on the outskirts of Rotorua, New Zealand. The 6 hectares (15 acres) stand of Californian Redwood trees were planted at the beginning of the 20th century as part of a programme to assess the viability of various exotic tree species for commercial forestry in New Zealand. Subsequently these trees have grown faster than in their native homeland due to the richer soil and higher rainfall in the area, reaching over 70 metres (230 ft) height only 100 years later. The stand of trees is now protected and has become very popular for recreational use.
