Lemper erzählt von den Anfängen ihres Berufes, ihren großen und kleinen Erfolgen, ihren vielen aufregenden Projekten, ihrer langen Karriere im ständigen Konflikt mit ihrer wichtigsten Rolle als Mutter von vier Kindern.
Sie berichtet von den wichtigen künstlerischen Begegnungen in ihrem Leben und reflektiert die parallelen zeitgeschichtlichen Ereignisse der sich rapide wandelnden Welt - die literarische Zeitreise einer außergewöhnlichen Frau, ein beeindruckendes Dokument unserer Zeitgeschichte - sensibel erzählt voller Leidenschaft und Elan.
Ute Lemper studierte Schauspiel am renommierten Wiener Max Reinhardt Seminar. Mit ihren Rollen in den Musicals „Cats“ und „Cabaret“ wurde sie berühmt, später wurde sie für ihre Kurt-Weill-Chansonabende gefeiert. Anfang der neunziger Jahre zog sie nach New York und wurde am Broadway zum Weltstar. Sie spielte in zahlreichen Filmen mit. Heute lebt sie mit ihrer Familie in Manhattan und steht regelmäßig in Deutschland auf der Bühne.

Ute Lemper - singer, actress, dancer, artist. On her 60th birthday, the grande dame of chanson provides a surprising personal insight into her life in front of and behind the curtain.
Lemper talks about the beginnings of her career, her major and minor successes, her many exciting projects, her long career in constant conflict with her most important role as a mother of four children.
She reports on the important artistic encounters in her life and reflects on the parallel historical events of the rapidly changing world - the literary journey through time of an extraordinary woman, an impressive document of our contemporary history - sensitively told with passion and verve.
Ute Lemper studied acting at the renowned Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. She became famous with her roles in the musicals "Cats" and "Cabaret" and was later celebrated for her Kurt Weill chanson evenings. In the early 1990s, she moved to New York and became a world star on Broadway. She has appeared in numerous films. Today she lives with her family in Manhattan and regularly appears on stage in Germany.
"Die Zeitreisende" was published in June 2023 by Gräfe und Unzer publisher; 240 pages.

Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? In His invitation, God asks His people to ask themselves - “Why do I spend money for what can’t satisfy?” This is a remarkably relevant question, in light of all the things we can pour our time and money and effort into - things which will never satisfy they way the LORD can satisfy.
Listen diligently to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance: The invitation is clear. The offer is made, the provision is made, and everything is available - but we must still do some things.
First, we must listen diligently. The satisfaction God promises doesn’t come to those who don’t listen, and listen diligently. It takes time, attention, and effort to listen diligently, and some aren’t willing do this.
Second, we must eat what is good. This requires some discernment. We must choose what is good, and then eat that. Many just simply eat whatever spiritual meal is set before them, without taking care to see that it is good.
Third, we must let your soul delight itself in abundance. Even when we listen, even when we eat what is good, we still must let our soul delight itself in abundance. You can sit down at a great spiritual meal, but by your stubborn or bad attitude, simply not let your soul delight itself in abundance.
