Agave attenuata is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, commonly known as the foxtail or lion's tail. The name swan's neck agave refers to its development of a curved inflorescence, unusual among agaves. Wikipedia
Thanks to a Flickr colleague for helping me out with the name of this fascinating plant.
Pink and white Hydrangea flowers. Not the most elegant name for a photo but to me the larger flowers seemed to be protecting the smaller ones.
.... I was told this is the " Eastern Swallow Tail ....
I wished I knew the name of the butterflies, and the flowers ...
I do not ... If any one does, I appreciate the ID ...

On May 12 it's ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day.
M.E. Awareness Week was established by patient advocates and is focused on May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who was believed to have suffered with M.E.
From 1857 Nightingale found herself often disabled by poor health, which some suggest may well have been Chronic Fatigue Syndrome(CFS).
As a result, Nightingale now has been adopted as a kind of patron saint for this under-studied disease.
CFS sufferers commemorate her birthday as a kind of rallying point; their own lamp in the dark.
