Helen and I swapped rolls of film that we each exposed, and then the other exposed a second image on top the film, running it a second time through the camera. Neither of us knew what the other had done for the first layer. The resulting combination image is an unplanned serendipitous coincidence. Film used was Ilford XP2 Super.

in january 2014, i started working on a 3-way "trifecta" film-swap, across 3 continents alongside two of my favourite analogue photographers: graziella ines from the u.s. and hodachrome from japan.. since then, we have been sending 3 rolls of film around the globe, each shooting a layer on every frame.. the third and final of these rolls has now been finished, developed and processed..

for this image, graziella shot the upper half of the frame only, masking the lower with a "splitzer" (crazy eyeballs somewhere in vegas!!), hodaka shot the lower half of the frame only, masking the upper half with a "splitzer" (a small sunflower field in ena city, gifu), and finally i shot the full frame (one of the light tunnels near the imax cinema in waterloo, london).. i love how the 3 images combine with cities 5000 miles apart, and a tranquil field in japan - this roll of film has travelled over 11,000 miles in total!

A happy new year!

My first upload in 2013 is from the second "EBS" Film swap with hodachrome.

"Exposing Both Sides of the Film (EBS)" is one of the unique technique in Lomography.

Please refer to the other photos and descriptio in his photostream.

Hodachrome shot a German church in the theme park called "Little world" on normal side and I shot a twilight scene in Aichi bokujo on redscale side . Both places are in Aichi pref, Japan

This is the first image from a new project, with hodachrome (he is a genius with an LC-A so check him out!). This film swap was based around the "EBS" technique: we shot a roll of film on the "normal" side, and when finished the film was then reversed and rewound, so that the second exposure was shot on the reverse side. When shooting on the reverse side, the image is "redscaled" - all colours become shades of red. With this first roll, hodachrome shot on the normal side in Japan, here in the "Lucent Avenue", the underground passage of Nagoya Station, the theme of this zone is "sea", then I shot on the "redscale" side in Brighton (UK), with some teasels down at Shoreham-by-Sea Harbour.

From filmswap project "夏色の肖像 -summer portrait", collaborated with photographer Kenichi Hatakeyama and model Ruru Niiya. I shot sunflowers with my LC-A then sent the film to him and he shot portrait with his SLR camera at sunset beach. This filmswap project will be featured on photo magazine soon.. Don't miss it!

From the filmswap with a great photographer fotobes. We have met in UK and tried a "quick" filmswap during my stay. His shot is a view of Brighton beach, shot from Brighton Pier. My shot is the observatory at the top of the "Shard", London. I love the fantastic mood here!

This is the 3rd photo from international "EBS" filmswap with a great photographer fotobes from UK.

"Exposing Both Sides of the Film (EBS)" is one of the most unique lomography's technique. First, Toby shot on normal/correct side of negative film, at Shoreditch in London, a view from the multi-storey car park. After reversed the film, I shot on reversed/redscale side, at an old tunnel in Otaki village, Nagano, long exposure :)

Canada to California to Pennsylvania

Film Swap with Phillip Chee. He started and shot in Canada then I got it and double exposed the roll in California. Being a rare black & white roll of film I had to send it to Pennsylvania for development. KB12 film. Requires ECN-2, 5247 process.

A Film Swap is a collaboration between friends who shoot film. It's a form of experimenting in one of the many ways that you can with film. You have many options so it is very fun to try and it's inspiring!

I used my Zenit B with Kodak 200

One of my favourites from the pinhole camera and LC-A120 filmswap project, that I did with Mike McLean. This image shows the Brighton Royal Pavilion, taken by Mike with a 12x6 Noon pinhole camera, and the LC-A 120 layer from me shows two sunset shots at low tide, side by side, on Brighton beach..
