The Shepherd
How sweet is the shepherd’s sweet lot!
From the morn to the evening he strays;
He shall follow his sheep all the day,
And his tongue shall be filled with praise.
For he hears the lambs’ innocent call,
And he hears the ewes’ tender reply;
He is watchful while they are in peace,
For they know when their shepherd is nigh.
—William Blake
are here...
The mist lingers more in the evenings and the leaves will soon finish their dance with the wind...
The colours slowly change once again as a rain curtain drops on the world and the scent of apple pies and cinnamon fills the air...
Now autumn meets winter in the mornings...
Bubbles floating looking like some type of planet system. Actually a large bottle of hand sanitiser. A photographers dream as the bubbles were static.
Have a safe week everyone.
A section of a leaf of a bromeliad, Neoregalia sp. For the Macro Mondays challenge: Redux, chosen theme: Fill the frame. Width 2 in.
The leaves are normally green and white but turn pink and green when the plant flowers.
HMM and happy new week!
I am always filled with joy when the beautiful Wood Ducks return in the Spring <3 They are magical <3
Thank-you to all who take the time to comment on my photos, it is greatly appreciated! <3
Due to the weather being so unpredictable at the moment here in Berlin, getting out is proving problematic. So indoor photography ensures, this my friend's Orchid luckily placed by a window so natural light wasn't too much of a problem to find. Also the D5600 has a more wider and more apparent D-Active Lighting feature which helped fill in the gaps, so to speak.
Hoping the weather improves soon as we fast approach my favourite time of year, Spring, I hope it's a warm one and I get out and really play with my new toy! I must admit, photography can be a little overwhelming with the technology and all things considered, so even from the D3400 to the my new camera, there is a lot to learn, remember and think about.
I hope everyone is well and so as always, thank you! :)

Ma fille ma demande des photos avec de l'eau en noir et blanc. Je regarde d'autres photos que j'aimerais voir en noir et blanc. Je vois toutes en noir et blanc.
I spotted this vintage GMC pickup truck and filling station in Clarkdale, Arizona, about 25 miles southwest of Sedona.

Between the trees, soft and sweet
The bare beauty, i do eat
Branches spread,before my eyes
Trees they open and do rise
Inviting me to slowly fill
Enjoy the touch and the thrill
Found between the trees, so sweet
Where bare beauty, i do eat
Moraine Lake as seen from the Moraine Lake Rockpile Trail, an 80 ft. high pile of rocks deposited at the leading edge of the last glacier to fill this valley. The lake is glacially fed and very cold, usually not thawing until June. Moraine Lake is located in the Valley of the Ten Peaks, a collection of rugged peaks in Banff National Park, all over 10,000 ft. high.

Freshly cooked peas from last night's dinner...maybe not everyone's favorite vegetable but full of iron, minerals and B vitamins.

Fill your life with experiences, not things. Have stories to tell, not to show ♥
This is the first spicebush swallowtail butterfly I spotted in my yard for 2017. At first I thought it was an eastern black swallowtail because it was rather small for a spicebush. When the red pentas are full, butterflies can always dive in and enjoy the purple pentas. The red ones are pretty full, monarchs are everywhere!
I raised a few of these last year and it was so simple. They don't eat nearly as much as monarchs and their host plant in my yard is the red bay tree, I have three of those. All you have to do is find the eggs, snip a piece of the branch where you find the egg(s) and place that piece of branch in a floral tube filled with water. It is important to check the water in the tube each day you don't want that to dry up. And check on the caterpillar once it hatches to make sure it has plenty of food, snipping a little more of a branch when needed. I hope to raise a lot of these in protective custody this year.
Have a beautiful day and happy snapping. I'm off to get more nectar and butterfly host plants at my favorite Florida native plant nursery.
After many many many grey, rainy weekends, on Sunday we got our first sunny weekend day in months. High on my list was the "Ersatzverkehr" between Hanau and Giessen in Hessen. Due to a shortage of EMUs, DB has hired replacement trains from CentralBahn AG to fill in. The actual rolling stock is leased from DB Gebrauchtzug, the recently created division which offers older locomotives and wagons for sale or lease. A number of locomotives have received retro schemes worn by locomotives of the class in the past or in a few cases semi-fictional schemes. So the stock has been mainly leased to other branches of DB, another creative accounting tricks probably. Anyways.....
After an early 4:40 AM wake up call I headed out by train towards the Main-Wetzlar Bahn. At Frieberg I boarded the replacement train behind the retro 111-174 and got down at Kirch-Göns. After about a 40 minute wait the set returned south in the perfect morning sun light. A great start to what would be a productive day.
Good excuse to get super close in then you need to fill the frame! This is from the centre of a Gerbera flower that seems to have mistaken being indoors for spring!
Took loads of shots of it from the abstract to the super sharp, this sits somewhere between I think. Estimated 5mm section of the flower.
