The quiet of the arroyo wraps around the mountains and allows the desert birds their turn to be heard. A gentle breeze ruffles the grasses and flutters the flowers as it hugs the rocks jutting from the wall that used to be a giant mountain.
I'm off volunteering this morning so this is one of my balance creations from earlier on in the year. Typically it's an amazing purple and pink sunrise sky this morning.Isn't that always the way. It's like the balancing of stones, you have to Figure it Out , by Royal Blood. I think w should be adjourning for a festive drink at the Plough and Harrow at lunchtime. That should make up for another remised sunrise.

A little Stink bug had just landed on a wooden board, close to where I stood, when this Wall Lizard came to check on a possible snack. Seeing what kind of insect it was, the lizard was performing a U turn when I captured it. I was glad it stopped to check on me, too :)
These pictures in this series were taken last Tuesday. At my hubby's work break I'll figure out how to get them off the server and up to this photostream with meta data and better than 72 dpi. This is wooden working puzzle that is a timer. It would run via rubber band if aligned but for the these shots I manually moved the larger gear down below that you can't see, subsequently moving the minute gear and the pendulum wheel at the top.
