Figuratively and literally. I have three months of mediocrity in my folders, poor planning and bad luck mostly so nothin' new. I'm leaving for AZ and Texas on Friday and my work is trying to pack two weeks work into one so I'm sleeping in, getting home late which means no Flickr. Probably will be backed up when I return too so I'll be back asap.
One more from Sun Lakes. It's nice when you are already someplace beautiful when you get a great sunset. :-)

I was first drawn to the color gradient, then looked for a rock that created more movement in the water and added an element to the composition. Playa de La Espasa - Asturias
...figuratively speaking that is.
This area is known as More Mesa and it's less than a mile from my house to these bluffs. It's a wonderful open space (320 acres) and full of wildlife and great ocean views.

Acrylic on board, lit and reflecting. There’s a lot of blue and green in there too, lurking in the crevices and just beneath the surface, which makes the gold resonate even more strongly.
At the beginning of the 14. century. was established the Catholic parish church Saint Dionysius as a westphalian hall church by three ships.
The cross ribs of the vaults are summarised by figurative and ornamentalen keystones.
In the choral vault 1968 remains of the original painting were exposed. The massive west tower with round arch and romanesque sound holes belongs to the romanesque predecessor's church of the twelfth century.
Colorful, figurative wall clock made by Normann Copenhagen (Scandinavian Design Company ) and named: WATCH ME. This wall clock is designed by Rasmus Gottliebsen. Designer Rasmus tells, "WATCH ME is not about telling the exact time, but more about idea of time. You experience different moods, depending on the minute, hour, day or year."
This is a humorous and colorful wall clock that provides the space for you to live life to the full.

Day now, night now, at head, side, feet,
They stand their vigil in gowns of stone,
Mouthless, eyeless, with stitched bald head.
Faces blank as the day I was born.
Their shadows long in the setting sun
That never brightens or goes down.
And this is the kingdom you bore me to,
Mother, mother. But no frown of mine
Will betray the company I keep.

This was shot at Brookgreen Gardens, near Murell's Inlet, South Carolina, as was a very similar image posted in late 2019 or so. This is a brick walkway, shadowed by the lattice structure above it and the trees above that. What I like here is the way the different patterns compete for my attention, making me feel a bit nuttier than usual: the virtually black shadow, the bricks and their different types and colors, and the variable colors of sunlight on the bricks caused by trees overhead letting different amounts of sunlight through. Just as I manage to focus on one pattern, another grabs my attention and the former is lost.
The history of Brookgreen Gardens is pretty interesting. Anna Hyatt Huntington was among New York City's most prominent sculptors in the early 20th century, when female artists generally garnered little respect. With her husband, Archer Huntington, they bought four old plantations around 1929, totaling over 9,000 acres, between the Waccamaw River and the Atlantic coast, in order to showcase her sculptures. Over time, they acquired works by a few dozen other American figurative sculptors, with a total of some 1400 works. The sculpture garden takes up about 550 acres; there is also a zoo, and several nature trails. For me, the gardens were a little more interesting than the sculpture, but enjoying it all together was pretty wonderful. The coastal areas have been leased to the state of North Carolina, forming Huntington Beach State Park. If you ever get down that way, check it out; otherwise, Google it. (They're not paying me anything for this brief review.)
This very anthropomorphic tree reminds of the Whomping Willow in the Harry Potter novels - thrashing its arms around. In this case, an oak, still green amongst lovely autumn colour from the beeches in the New Forest.
