Irritating 4:3-specific and overly-opaque screen ticker/banners. Ugh.
After the awful ABC/ESPN commentators, this was the 2nd worst thing about an otherwise (mostly) excellent coverage of the tournament.
Ugh - with a fr ee Flickr account, my photos are limited to 1024x768 anyway, and my photo already clips some of the extra width ehre ... but believe me on the above points
For the HD Beat folks: World Cup on Adelphia cable, NoVA, Moto 6412 HD-DVR, paused, Sceptre 42" 1080P LCD HDTV. And yes, I KNOW I cropped out the sides, and this doesn't look 16:9 any more!
