A labor of love. This is the finished mural at night. It's 27x44 ft. I painted my part (the figure) with spraypaint & fatcaps, Retna did all the background designs with mostly acrylic & brush mixed with some spraypaint. The halo text is in Latin, the Ave Maria. Very grimy LMS 'Black Five' 4-6-0 45217 with an excursion service on the Great Central, near Lutterworth, in April 1962.
The loco was withdrawn in November 1966, and scrapped in June 1967. No less than eighteen of the class have been preserved.
The lines through Lutterworth closed completely in 1969, and today almost all traces of the tracks have disappeared..

So Who was John Armitt…..?
Sir John Alexander Armitt CBE FREng FICE is an English civil engineer, and current chairman of the UK's National Infrastructure Commission.
In 1993, he was appointed chief executive of Union Railways, the company responsible for implementing the Channel Tunnel rail link. From 1997 to 2001, he was chief executive of Costain Group, which he converted from an annual loss of £62 million to a profit of £6.5 million.
In 2001 he became chief executive of Railtrack, and from 2002 to 2007 its successor, Network Rail.
During his time at Network Rail he was believed by a survey sponsored by The Sunday Times to be the highest-paid public-sector employee in the UK. Armitt's salary and bonus of £878,000 – rising to more than
£1m pension contributions are included, overtaking Adam Crozier, chief executive of Royal Mail.
On 2 November 2012 the Government announced that Armitt would be a member of the Airports Commission. He is a non executive director of the Berkeley Group and was a Transport for London board member from 2012 to 2016
The Armitt Review, an independent review of long-term UK infrastructure planning, was published in September 2013, and is Labour Party policy. He was appointed to the National Infrastructure Commission in 2015, became Deputy Chairman in 2017 and was appointed Chairman in 2018. In January 2023, his appointment as chairman was renewed for a further two years, through to January 2025.
Also in January 2023, he was appointed as a non-executive director on the board of Tilbury Douglas's parent company, TD Bidco, owned and controlled by shareholders of Interserve.
He was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 1996 Birthday Honours for services to the rail industry. On 16 July 2007 Network Rail named New Measurement Train power car 43062 after him at London Euston. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
He was knighted in the 2012 New Years Honours List for services to engineering and construction as chair of the Olympic Delivery Authority. His knighthood was criticised by the family of a victim of the Grayrigg derailment, as Armitt had been serving as chief executive of Network Rail at the time of the 2007 accident. Network Rail were prosecuted for the incident on the same day that Armitt's knighthood was conferred.

The Friarton Bridge is a steel box girder bridge with a concrete deck, across the River Tay on the southeastern outskirts of Perth, Scotland, approximately 20 miles upstream of the Tay Road Bridge. The bridle was constructed by the Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Company with Miller Groupas the foundation and concrete sub-contractor. The bridge was designed by Freeman Fox and Partners with the team being led by Dr Oleg Kerensky CBE, DSc, BSc, FRS, FEng, FIStructE,FICE and the resident engineer was H Binnie. The site manager for Cleveland was J Robinson and for Miller it was R Gormley.The bridge was a pair of steel box girders (one under each carriage way) 4.3 m wide overlaid by a lightweight concrete deck. The bridge is 831m long with a river span of 174m. The river span provided a 25m head room for a width of 46m of the 76m wide navigation channel. The boxes vary in depth between 2.7m and 7.5m, with the deeper section located close to the river. It forms part of the eastern spur of the M90 between junctions 10 (Craigend) and 11 (Broxden), the most northerly motorway junction in the UK. It also forms part of the important east coast road corridor from Edinburgh through to Dundee and Aberdeen. It is the single largest structure on the M90, a title it will hold until the completion of the second Forth Road Bridge in 2016. It was the first large box girder bridge to be built to the Merrison Rules which were introduced in 1973 after the collapse during construction of three box girder bridges during the 1970s. The bridge was strengthened during the 2000s to cope with modern traffic loadings.
The bridge spans the river, the Dundee-Perth railway line, a number of warehouses and the A85 high above the surrounding plain.
It is a two-lane dual carriageway; unusually for a motorway (although not unusually for the M90) neither carriageway has a hard shoulder. When it was built in 1978, it was designated as the M85 motorway. When the A85 from the north end of the bridge to Dundee was renumbered in the early 1990s to A90 through to Dundee, the motorway's designation changed to M90 to provide a continuous route number from Edinburgh through to Fraserburgh

Gender and religious diversity inspired this mural on the east side of the Guthrie Building in downtown SLC. As ornate and colorful as stained glass, “Ave Maria” occupies the upper right-hand corner of the brick building’s east side. It was commissioned by Corey Bullough, owner of Fice Gallery, which is housed there. A fan of religious iconography, Bullough felt that female figures were underrepresented in Salt Lake City. He charged international street artists El Mac and Retna with righting that wrong, and the duo completed the piece in February 2010 (cityweekly.net)

I created this 20 x 20 acrylic on canvas painting in 2011. Top left, there is a totem type of face sticking his tongue out into a totem bird face on the right side. Between the two totems is a Native American looking face with purple eye. After flipping the piece 90 degrees counterclockwise you will see at the bottom right a 5 and a star close together and to the right of it a half a face with a feathered headdress on, hence the name “Five Star Tiki Lord”. This piece resembles a very festive tribal kind of feel with tropical colors that will be sure to enliven your living space!
Information: Tradition has it that the cross was erected by a man, after he and his wife had been ‘pixie-led’ and were lost in the fog on the moor. Eventually they ended up in this spot and were able to drink from the well, which immediately broke the spell and the fog lifted thus enabling them to continue on their way. The man is supposed to have erected the cross as a thanksgiving and in order to make it easier for others in need to find the well.
However, it is more likely to have been erected by Sir John Fitz, after whom this and the other Fice’s Well, on the Blackbrook at Merrivale, is named. Sir John was a lawyer at Tavistock in the 16th Century and a similar story to that above has been told about him and the Merrivale well.
The shaft of this cross has obviously been broken off at some stage and the cross is quite a bit shorter as a consequence. There is a worn, but visible incised cross in the centre on one side. It has been suggested that the cross originally stood at St. Michael’s Chapel at Halstock, about ¼ of a mile away. When the chapel fell into disrepair, in the 15th or 16th Century, the cross was brought over and erected in it’s present position. This would be about the time that Sir John Fitz was living at Tavistock and was also Lord of the Manor of Meldon and the owner of Okehampton Park.

Since the introduction of the new "mobiJU" brand, postbuses are running in red and white in the Canton of Jura. While also some older vehicles were re-painted (or re-stickered), all fice articulated buses are new built in 2021. With the much enhanced offer, only quarter-hourly route 7 has to be served by articulated buses anyway, on all other routes the standard buses are running more often to spread the demand over the hour. The bus is approaching Vicques, with the higher quartiers of Delémont, "Chef-lieu" and largest town in the region, are still visible as the bus crosses the wide (for swiss scales) fields of the Val Terbi valley.

The Astra Multiplex Cinema is located on the Venice Lido, a few meters from the Santa Maria Elisabetta landing stage and the Gran Viale of the same name, along via Corfù.
The new Multiplex Astra, inaugurated on December 13, 2002, has two screens for the programming of art-house premieres, cinema for children, reviews and special events such as book presentations, projections of the Venice Film Festival, Venice Film Meeting.
It has a capacity of 225 seats in Room 1, located on the upper floor of the complex, and of 136 seats in Room 2, on the ground floor (for a total of 381 seats). A structure equipped with all the most modern comforts with latest generation sound and projection systems that guarantee the highest quality of listening and vision, velvet armchairs, air conditioning, lift for the disabled and an adjacent bar.
The Multiplex Astra is located a few steps from the Santa Maria Elisabetta jetties, allowing the Venetians of the historic center to make the most of the service offered.
The program foresees a collaboration with the Giorgione Movie of arthouse in the historical center.
The multiplex is a member of the FICE (Italian Federation of Arthouse Cinema) and Agis-Fac.

The Friarton Bridge is a steel box girder bridge with a concrete deck, across the River Tay on the southeastern outskirts of Perth, Scotland, approximately 20 miles upstream of the Tay Road Bridge. The bridle was constructed by the Cleveland Bridge and Engineering Company with Miller Groupas the foundation and concrete sub-contractor. The bridge was designed by Freeman Fox and Partners with the team being led by Dr Oleg Kerensky CBE, DSc, BSc, FRS, FEng, FIStructE,FICE and the resident engineer was H Binnie. The site manager for Cleveland was J Robinson and for Miller it was R Gormley.The bridge was a pair of steel box girders 4.3 m wide overlaid by a lightweight concrete deck. The bridge is 831m long with a river span of 174m. The river span provided a 25m head room for a width of 46m of the 76m wide navigation channel. The boxes vary in depth between 2.7m and 7.5m, with the deeper section located close to the river. It forms part of the eastern spur of the M90 between junctions 10 and 11, the most northerly motorway junction in the UK. It also forms part of the important east coast road corridor from Edinburgh through to Dundee and Aberdeen. It is the single largest structure on the M90, a title it will hold until the completion of the second Forth Road Bridge in 2016. It was the first large box girder bridge to be built to the Merrison Rules which were introduced in 1973 after the collapse during construction of three box girder bridges during the 1970s. The bridge was strengthened during the 2000s to cope with modern traffic loadings.

Laketon sits along the northwest side of the Eel River. Round Lake is at the west edge of town and Long Lake is north of town. Main Street runs north and south through town. The cross street in the foreground of this scene may be Lake Street.
The right end of a sign above the automobile at the left edge of the scene advertised ____FICE. This probably advertised an office and the most typical use of the word “office” in those days was for the post office. Maybe that automobile was parked in front of the post office. There were unidentified businesses on the other two street corners in this scene. If this was the Lake Street intersection, the building with the columns might have been the new Laketon State Bank that reportedly opened on the northeast corner of that intersection in 1912.
Other businesses can be seen farther up the street on the left. The small wooden structure at the edge of the street in front of one of those businesses was probably a gasoline pump. Such pumps were usually associated with hardware stores.
At the far end of the street was a large building. It’s color was dark as though of brick construction and it was probably two stories tall. The structure included a bell tower and possibly a tall chimney. The building appears to be too large for a church in a town of this size and may have been the Laketon High School.

Westminster Abbey is a community of Benedictine monks in Mission, British Columbia. The abbey's official name is the Abbey of Saint Joseph of Westminster.
LK03 NKM DMC 42518 on the 308 route - a surprising encounter, and a flash back to the old days of the Millfields Road terminus. The First yellow/white flash livery persists. More normally found on the RV1 route. An advertising panel has been fitted to the side.
Fice buses call at the this stop, all of them normally single deckers - quite unusual for somewhere so close to the centre of London - although the 308 occasionally entertains a double decker. Low bridges keep the 276 and 488 single deck only.
One of the last CAetano bodied darts operated by First, it passed to Whippet circa 2015 and subsequently worked for A2B in Cambridge.

Today's shot shows one of my most recent purchases for the iPhone, a Triggertrap.
The Triggertrap is an App and a couple of leads which attach from the iPhone to the camera remote connector.
basically, the Triggertrap can be used to fire the shutter of a DSLR camera by several different methods.
It uses the iPhone's ability to detect sound & movement and will fire the camera when it detects any noise or movement in the image, it can fire as a normal remote release, timelapse, distance lapse - where it will take a photo whenever the camera moves a certain distance, for instance when ficed to a car windscreen it could take a photo every 5o yards.
It can take a photo when it detects vibration or when a face enters the shot, it can do HDR timelapses, there are all sorts of possibilities.

What do we know about Asty? He's a pilot and he flies under the banner of the New Republic.
That's it.
I assume Asty to be flying in Poe Dameron's squadron. From the posture and the facial expression of the figure, he seems to be the silent but determined type. A guy who got his buddy's back, always keeps a cool head and perhaps even the best pilot of the squad but due to his character lacking the skills necessary to lead.
Not bad for a character that will probably only be featured in the movie for a few moments.
The sculpt of the figure is, like most of the other figures from the 3,75" series, great! The suit seems to be a bit large, like pilot suits are, sports a bendable tube that runs from the chest piece to his left trouser pocket. The figure comes with a pistol that can be stored in a holster.
The facial sculpt is excellent. Asty means business.
This figure has a few yellow paintmarks on the helmet. Like with Poe Dameron, the helmet is part of the head sculpt.
As an extra accessory, the figure comes with a jetpack, that can be combined with the other figures accessories to form some sort of super-thing. Which, in this reviewers opinion, is a completely unnecessary piece of plastic. The inclusion of the jetpack results in a hole in the back of the figure in which to peg it.
I like this figure and i'm looking forward to the Black Series release. The rest of his face is something i'm looking forward to seeing. The fice points of articulation might be a dealbraker for some, but a good sculpt is more important for this reviewer.

In blue is shown the modern Tiber River Valley and the coastal plain filled by recent alluvial sediments deposited at the end of the last glaciation. Dashed lines border the area of the ancient course of the Palaeo-Tiber, where the gravelly and clayey sediments deposited during periods of sea-level rise caused by ice melting at the end of the older glacial cycles crop out. The study and dating of these sediments (side pictures) allowed the researcher to estimate the rates of past sea-level rises.
