A blue abstract for the Smile On Saturday: "Blue For You - ME 2023" theme
The blue in today's theme is to raise awareness and show support for those who suffer from ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) or Fibromyalgia.
The blue in today's theme is to show support for those who suffer from Fibromyalgia... and especially for Maria 💙
For Maria Godfrida, who is the administrator of the group "Smile on Saturday" and today the theme is: "Blue for You - ME 2021"
More information:
"""""On May 12 it's ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day.
M.E. Awareness Week was established by patient advocates and is focused on May 12th, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who was believed to have suffered with M.E.
From 1857 Nightingale found herself often disabled by poor health, which some suggest may well have been Chronic Fatigue Syndrome(CFS).
As a result, Nightingale now has been adopted as a kind of patron saint for this under-studied disease.
CFS sufferers commemorate her birthday as a kind of rallying point; their own lamp in the dark.
Maria is a victim of that illness herself, together with many others here at Flickr.
Therefore there is (for the third time already) a theme with 'blue as the main colour' on Saturday May 8.
She called this theme "Blue for You - ME 2021""""
I hope that someday there will be treatment for this illness.

I care for someone who suffers chronic pain. I see how debilitating it can be and how it saps the very essence of a person. I send my heartfelt wishes to all who suffer. 💙

Last week I posted a photo of one of the eggs but today I see the mama robin has added three more little blue eggs to her nest - as I suspected, but I had interrupted her. Sorry mama. I love their blue colour.
Thanks for your visit. HSoS!

On May 12, it's ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day and also a celebration of Florence Nightingale's birthday, statistician and founder of modern nursing.
Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily but I will skip it this week, since we have a very important theme at Smile on Saturday. According to Maria (our awesome administrator of SoS Group) : « On May 12 it's ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day.
Each year (it is a 4th edition!!) we celebrate this day with a theme with 'blue as the main colour' and it is called "BLUE FOR YOU - ME 2022".
So I couldn’t resist and show my support towards all people who suffer from that disease or who are in pain, physically or mentally. This blue levitating egg with its own blue dinosaur is here to make you smile !
Have a beautiful day ! Mucho, mucho amor for you all !!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a pink or purple day at Color my World Daily, however the theme at Smile on Saturday is too important to skip, it is: blue for you - ME 2021.
This is the second year I add my contribution to this theme. And what is it about ?

So this theme is about mental support for people suffering physically or mentally. Because sickness can turn your life upside down in a blink of an eye but also the life of your loved ones, we all need some mental support. So here is my picture for this theme.
Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! Have a beautiful day and see you later!! Stay safe and healthy !
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !!

BLUE FOR YOU-ME 2023
On May 12 it's ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day.
May 12 was chosen as it coincided with the birth date of Florence Nightingale, the celebrated English social reformer and statistician, and the founder of modern nursing. Nightingale became chronically ill in her mid-thirties after returning from the Crimean War; the M.E.-like illness often left her bedridden during the last 50 years of her life.
The theme of today is about ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day.
Moreover, I totally agree with the idea of Maria: "... to encourage not only the people here at Flickr who suffer from that disease, but anyone who is in pain, physically or mentally".
Now, about the pic.
This evening I tried several different setups for the important theme of today, but I wasn't satisfied about the results. In any case, I wish to participate. Therefore I decided to share the original coloured version of an old pic, that I shared for "Looking close... on Friday!", where it was in B&W.
I hope that this idea doesn't bend the rules too much!
Stay safe, dear friends, and have a nice weekend. 🙋♂️
Vergissmeinnicht in Blau
In Greek mythology, Zeus believed that he had given all plants a name, whereupon a small blue flower called out: "Don't forget mine!" The highest of the gods then made it easy for himself and gave the little plant the name "Forget-me-not".

I felt my body falling into deeper pain yesterday.
Like a shadow that drains with sharp and lingering aches.
Like a monster waiting to take its victim.
I'm where sleep feels so close and so much further.
I can't sleep or stay awake and it's torture.
I'm trapped.
I find no comfort.
I have no escape.
I'm my bodies enemy.
My mind is heavy and my thoughts confused and blurry.
I'm less of me today.
Even though yesterday I was less me.
Today I'm lesser me then I've been in weeks.
I feel depressed and frustrated.
Frustrated with my mind, and body.
Today is a reminder why yesterday was better.
Even though I was tired and my back taunted me with its nagging wide spread hurt.
Today is more.
And I am less.
Uncomfortable, unhappy, and unable to exact my description of this curse.
Fibromyalgia's friend.
It won't let me go.
And Fibromyalgia's enemy.
It won't let me go...
This is me.
This is not me.
I'm but a shadow of me ninety percent of my life.

One of my attempts at the "Smile on Saturday" theme "BLUE FOR YOU - ME 2023"
On May 12 it's ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day.
Therefore we will have the theme "Blue for You - ME 2023", on Saturday May 6, in the group Smile on Saturday! :-).
With this topic we would like to encourage not only the people here who suffer from that disease, but anyone who is in pain, physically or mentally.

This delicate and fragile egg has been painted completely by hand in a beautiful Art Nouveau style, known as Arts and Crafts Movement or “Style Liberty” in the United Kingdom. The egg has a background of vibrant aqua blue which is decorated with a mixture of stylised blue flowers and foliage in a William Morris style and then overlaid with tiny silver white flecks. The egg is then covered in a varnish to protect the fragile hand painted surface.
The theme for “Smile on Saturday” for the 6th of May “Blue for You – ME 2023” which is in honour of ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia International Awareness Day which happens to fall on May 12th. May the 12th was chosen as it coincided with the birth date of Florence Nightingale, the celebrated English social reformer and statistician, and the founder of modern nursing. Nightingale became chronically ill in her mid-thirties after returning from the Crimean War; the M.E.-like illness often left her bedridden during the last 50 years of her life.
As the theme for “Smile on Saturday” this week was open to subject but required a lot of blue, I thought I would submit another of my ornamental eggs, all of which just happen to be blue! This egg, perched atop a small porcelain rest, has a small puncture at both the top and the bottom, indicating that it was “blown”, a tradition where one blows the white and yolk of the egg through the hole in the bottom by way of exhaling into the hole at the top. A time consuming method, egg blowing must be done gently so as not to break the fragile egg shell by applying too much pressure. It can take well over an hour to blow a single egg. The paper I have chosen for the background, which also just happens to be blue, is William Morris’ 1875 “Marigold” pattern which I thought suited this Style Liberty Easter egg as well as the blue theme. I hope you like my choice of the theme this week, and that it makes you smile.
Hello amazing people!
