The Storm Approaches...
Up and out by 5.00 am just ahead of the sunrise, greeted by a cloudy, stormy morning; heavy, large raindrops fell like blobs from the sky. each one exploded like large water balloons on the pavement and grass at my feet...
The turbulent sky roiled and boiled in front of my lens; as i braved the wind and the rain to snap this photo. then came the deluge and a sudden mad dash for home.

This entrance was once gated and connected to an iron fence, remains of the ironwork can be seen as small rusting stubs driven into solid rock. Time renders man's efforts irrelevent, just traces of the past remain.
Place Fell and the Hartsop above How ridge seen from near Stands Crags, Dovedale on an early Autumn morning.
A beautiful sunrise over Lingmoor Fell in the Lake District. 🌄 The rolling hills and rocky paths create a perfect backdrop for a morning hike. Lingmoor Fell is known for its breathtaking views over Great Langdale, especially when the early light touches the surrounding peaks.
Off to the Lakes for a week tomorrow! :-) Been a bit too much sun and colour in the last few shots so here's a moody shot from the Summit of Low Fell looking up Buttertemere.
Walking along Lingmoor Fell to Side Pike with views of Great Langdale, Pike Of Stickle, Harrison Stickle and Pavey Ark in the English Lake District.
The weather was overcast with occasional shafts of sunlight
A rainbow is a very rare phenomenon, but a half-round rainbow is extremely rare. At first it was very weakly colored. Then the rainbow developed into a beauty. I didn't care if all the rain fell on me.
I didn't know that the hill that turned white in the manipulation process was called Blanch Fell ... how apt!

Its the start of September and for me this is when the good weather and conditions begin, nice light and misty mornings.
I fancied a wee wander not really knowing what I was looking for so headed to Wanfell near Plumpton. A good layer of heather and bracken over the fells, but some really gorgeous warm light made it for me.
