Algarve, Portugal. A local man soaks up the morning sun in a deserted cove with only the crying of the gulls, the rocks, the sea, the sun and the sand. For all of you who long for the sun as I do, I hope you can feel the warmth of that beautiful early May morning , when I shot this scene nearly six years ago.
I found this photo in my archives and processed it using Topaz Glow (Into the Light) and a lightly applied texture of my own.

I decided to go with felt since I find that felt has a very fascinating texture under a macro lens. Weather is starting to be really good those days, it feels like summer, so I decided to take the Devil out on a ride. It's been so long since I went there that when we arrived, the view of the sand beach and the sea was a real breathtaking. The mare was really relaxed than we even cantered in the water ! That moment was amazing, and she loved it, we might go back again, Summer just started !

A Halloween decoration emanates an eerie feeling of omnipresence as it beckons me from the shelf of a discount store. Even in the context of a brightly lit retail environment, full of shoppers and just one aisle away from potato chips, the eyes radiate pure malevolence. In moments like this it all feels directed solely at me. It's almost as if only I can see these things as they truly are, rather than the cheap plastic skull that other shoppers see. My mind always seems to work in this two-track system: interpreting what I actually see versus how things make me feel. There's often a wide gulf separating the two. It's the simultaneous curse and blessing bestowed upon artists. I snapped the picture then hurried on with my shopping. But memories of this moment will linger.
