From the family of falcons comes the Merlin. This merlin is magic free but this fast flying falcon is no friend to other feathered fellows. It feasts on this fare frequently. These freaky falcons do so with fascinatingly fierce flying. Merlin pairs sometimes fish for fowl in tandem, with one flushing a flock from below while the other follows, flying fiercely at the frightened fleeing flock. So, to our fleeting feathered friends, the merlin is a falcon to be feared. #Merlins #DryTortugas

I took this photos in the studio also. I used the same original photo of Alec, but a different photo of the ghostly figure this time a full body version. I ended up using the photo of the ghost with the hand coming out thinking that it may create a more fearful affect. I ended up adding one of the energy balls to create a poison apple which is kind of the fairytale symbol for faith.

This photo utilizes multiple styles of surrealistic editing. The levitation, energy ball and duplication all help to lend to the fearful quality and human emotion of this photo.

The shiny metal snake-like monster was swerving on top of the sink. Sometimes it will give out a monotonous warning drone, sometimes an intimidating hiss, or sometimes dance to a constant tapping beat (pitter patter).

Is it alive?! I am very intrigued but terrified at the same time!

the rumbles, powerful wind and hail drumming on the ground were enough to stir up the calmest of minds

“Self-doubt has to be eradicated. If you plant a seed, you don’t dig it up to see if it’s growing. You plant it. You believe in it. You nurture it. You go with it.” - Alfonso King

Alfonso here is referring that it's more about trusting your own instincts — recognizing that, even in your messiness, you are perfectly made, that you have these seeds, these gifts, that must be planted and trusted.

And I just going to trust the process.

This is still part of the "voyeur/stalker" series.

Still shooting around the "building" I'm staying at and amazed by how cinematic everything looks!!!!!!!

The thing about expression is you don’t need props to express the emotion. A slight change in an expression can reflect the mood you want to bring forth. In Indian dance we call it the navarasa’s or nine different emotions. It is the eyes that showcase these emotions. And that’s what I’m trying to show.

Fear -

This is the second of a series.

This would definetly have to be my best shot of 2007 - it is also my most favourited image and with the most number of comments ;)

Shot in Hillsville, Virginia

I shot this as a female companion piece to my other male "In The Offing" photograph. Wanting to convey the fears we have of the unknown, of something ominous that is coming and is on it's way. Accepting that unknown and accepting your fear. Fear is sometimes a catalyst in transformation and while getting over one fear you often find another. The wind always changes direction. What's your biggest fear or phobia? Feel free to share yours in the comments.

The Lord takes care of our fears if we give them to him and we accept Jesus.

Pelkäät, että jonakin kauniina päivänä uudelleen muuttaisin mieleni ?

(Are you afraid that one fine day I would change my mind again?)

Fear can be seen as such a universal and objective term. We have all felt fear at one point in our lives. It is the quickening of our heartbeats and the sharp inhale of breath. It is the dilating of the pupils and the adrenaline in our veins. It is sweaty palms and lightheadedness. Fear, broken down like this, is nothing but a physical reaction to external stimuli. The problem with this view is that the stimuli changes, it adapts to the person. It adjusts to who you are. What causes fear in me causes elation in others. My fear and your fear are both similar and so very different. It has the same face but a different smile. Fear is in a constant state of flux, it walks with us all throughout our lives simply growing and changing alongside us. Fear is subjective. It belongs to you and you only. It paralyses you in a state of utter isolation. Nothing around you feels real. Your world, the world you have learnt to live in, stops existing. You are alone, so very alone. When you feel fear your heart is the only heart that is beating that fast. You are the only one struggling to breathe, the only one who feels this way. It does not matter who is stood beside you, you do not consider them when fear reaches out for your hand. It is not that you do not care; it is that in that moment you cannot care. You become a body and a feeling. You become an emotion so strong that everything else fades away. You stand with your fear and you cannot call out for help, even though your eyes are pleading for it.

"There is no living thing that is not afraid when it faces danger. The true courage is in facing danger when you are afraid." - L. Frank Baum
