Mammoth Hot Springs are a must-see feature of Yellowstone National Park in part because they’re so different from other thermal areas in the area. This is largely because limestone is a relatively soft type of rock, allowing the travertine formations to grow much faster than other sinter formations. It has been described as looking like a cave turned inside out.

A trip back to Sept 2018 when we were 'hobos' temporarily, having sold our house in Bedfordshire with a two week gap before our new home in Alnwick was available.

Our final 3 or 4 'hobo' days were spent near Penrith on the edge of the Lake District within easy reach of Ullswater, seen here on a blowy day with a sky full of scudding clouds.

Double-crested Cormorants are fast flyers and I'm usually lousy at capturing fast flyers. However, I had a bit of luck with this one as it flew by in Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, Utah.

But even with 1/1250 shutter speed, there's still a bit of wing motion blur. Yep, that's a fast flyer.

Another installment from our recent three-state journey.

Playing about capturing fast running at a local country park (Healey Dell)

Everybody waits as the KC Streetcar hustles its way to the River Market area down Mainstreet in KCMO. I’m so guilty of enjoying long expsoures of light. The capture of the curve of light is probably my favorite part of this type of photography.

This little figure reminded me of George Michael so in honour of him I've named it after one of his songs. :)

I'm still on a quest to catch one of these little welcome swallows at the moment it dips into the water. I'm slowly getting closer! I still haven't figured out whether they are just having a quick dip to bathe or are just grabbing a very quick drink. Either way, it is very entertaining to sit and watch them.

Happy Wing Wednesday!

Won’t be long now until the swallows migrate , what me in action with them on my you tube video youtu.be/noxRbmhO9Fo

Yeah it was, but I need more references for the front and back of the suit. So if you can find them please link them to me so I can finish this figure. :)

I know it isnt a very special car, but I think the panning is very good =)

It was almost midnight in Dresden Neustadt when the streets were almost deserted and the warm lighting of the chocolate bar bathed the façade and sidewalk in a cozy light. The fascination of light - in the middle of the city. I was fascinated by the contrast between the historic architecture and the modern graffiti, which together make up the versatility and charm of this neighborhood. The parked bicycles, seemingly randomly placed, lend the scene a certain liveliness and at the same time tell of the many stories that this place has probably already experienced. It was a moment in which the interplay of light, structure and urban flair was simply perfect.

Grrr sorry for re-posting.. flickr had some issues of pictures appearing in recent uploads..

Taken at around 4.30 in the afternoon as the sun was getting lower in the sky at a fast flowing section of the River Tummel near Pitlochry.

I used a HiTech Firecrest ND 3.0 and am happy with the neutrality, I didn't have to make any adjustments during post processing.

Hey, I am the one your mother warned you about... Corban.

I have had so much on my mind recently, but as I sit here trying to string together some kind of substantial content to intrigue and entice you as a reader, my mind is a simple beep of a heart monitor that has no life attached. So I have decided to talk to you today about the clothing and accessories that I have used in this nugget of photography that accompanies my random waffle.

Indian fast food

Varanasi (India) - This small restaurant that overlooks a narrow alley is a kind of local fast food. To take this picture, I had to use a wide-angle lens because although I am on the street, I have very little perspective.

I am not going to say that this tiny tavern which only makes "dishes" to take away, respects Western health standards. You wouldn't believe me. On the other hand, it conforms to Indian standards; Especially since there are none for the street trade.

Here we are at the top of the range, if I can put it that way. The cook has a white shirt. Usually clothes are smeared with grease stains, the oldest of which date back several months. As for sweating ...

Since the time that I travel in India, it happens to me to eat in this kind of establishment. You have to know how to live dangerously. However, I have rarely been ill. In the event of a problem, I always have a well-supplied medical kit.

The local specialties are delicious. However, you should choose products that have been cooked and avoid vegetables washed in unfiltered water. This limits the risk of intoxication. Bon appétit !

My impressions are the Heritage 1 paint scheme is well suited to the nose, cab, and hood of EMD's SD40-2 model, especially from this perspective.
