About Twilight-Siren

Personal Profile for Twilight Siren by Kat Simpson

Twilight Siren is an exclusive conceptual brand specialiasing in high quality steel boned corsets and bodywear. Kat Simpson, the creative director behind the brand established Twilight Siren after graduating from De Montfort University with a BA (Hons) in Contour Fashion. She is currently studying an MA in Fashion Bodywear, a unique course merging intimate apparel and fashion design.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Twilight Siren takes its name from Greek mythology: The sirens: Three

bird women whose seductive music and voices lured sailors and caused

them to ship wreck of their rocky island.

Having an interest in past and present subculture Twilight Siren explores

the relationship between fashion and music. The Brand was born with the belief of creating unique style and personal expression.

Twilight Siren prides itself on using distinctive and often unique fabrics created by hand for a personal finish. The Twilight Siren brand has an edgy aesthetic fusing underwear and outerwear for the alter ego.

Each Twilight Siren piece is lovingly handmade to order. All corsets are constructed to include several layers of fabric and use a combination of spiral steel and flexi steel boning.

If you want Twilight Siren to make you a unique piece please dont hesitate to contact Kat with any design ideas.

African fashion is booming.

Africa inspires fashion designers all over the world. Modern interpretations of colourful prints and geometric patterns could be found on high fashion catwalks all over the world in 2012. In London and New York fashion by African designers even got their own high profile African Fashion Week. All the more reason why we had to have our own fashion show on the Africaday!

The Africaday Fashion Show showcased the designs of African-Dutch designers who have been inspired by the rich visual traditions of Africa. Each one of them has her own unique take on African fashion. Models took to the runway dressed in their sophisticated, fashion forward designs and a panel of judges from the fashion industry judged the designs. The lucky winner of the Africaday Fashion Show, Arriz Golden, presented his designs in web shop Lady Africa, featured in an article in Africa Magazine ZAM and received a cheque from Patricia Linhard!
