Many thanks to my wonderful wife for capturing this view of my fascination with railways.
It’s a location with quite a history. Back in December 1984 a train carrying petroleum derailed inside the tunnel and caught fire. The brave driver and assistant managed to uncouple the locomotive and the tankers that had remained on the track, drawing them clear of the burning train. The driver was back at work the following day. I’ve linked below to a newspaper article about the event.

Photographed July 2022 / Olympus PEN-D Half Frame Film Camera with F-Zuicko 3.2cm/1.9 lens. The film was FOMAPAN 200 metered ASA 180 developed in CJT-63 (a catechol-phenidone formula which uses trisodium phosphate as alkali and which also contains triethanolamine). The negative was illuminated on a light table and scanned with a Pentax k3 DSLR and Schneider COMPONON-S 80mm/4 enlarging lens on a helicoid extension tube. The image was edited on an iPad mini using the Snap Seed application: full frame scan of entire negative area without trimming.
