This is my absolute favorite from the Jackson Free Press fall fashion shoot at our house two weeks ago. Stephanie is jamming on Kelly's wedding gift to me, a nice American-made Fender Stratocaster.
This shoot was originally supposed to be outside but a tropical depression in the area had other ideas, so we had to be move it indoors at the last moment. It was Labor Day weekend so any contacts I had to provide an indoor location weren't around or answering. We decided we'd shoot it at our house and it turned out great.
Thanks to Meredith Sullivan and Shannon for their styling, Stephanie and Shirley providing their modeling abilities and most of all to my wife for putting up with a photo shoot at her house for 6 hours!

Okay, I'm trying something new here, and I need your feedback.
The black and white tassle-y thing is actually a big SCARF layered over a tunic shirt. I belted both with a skinny belt and bloused them both out a bit and threw a jacket over it all for good measure.
Does it look weird? Or too much like an apron?

Look at me actually using color. Weird. So after 3 weeks I finally got internet (and honestly now I have to idea what to do on it) and I'm on my third week of college and we have to take pictures daily and present 5 images to class. Two weeks in a row I've had best picture. So I'm pretty thrilled. But what is pretty funny that after 3 weeks people are already copying my ideas. Seriously? It is the third week. Just come up with your own ideas it isn't that hard. I go to a school where creativity is appreciated and brought out so for someone to steal anothers is completely ludacris. Sure, I guess copying is a way of learning, but if one is going to would you not want to make it your own? Add more flare to it? To make it better than the original?

Model Dasha U. Photoshoot with Dasha was amazing and this portrait really captured the vibe of the shoot. She’s skillful and has grace and elegance in poses. This was a standard butterfly lighting technique which really brought out the beautiful catchlight in her eyes. The black backdrop also really brought all the focus onto her, and again, everything worked.
