We had our first snow of the winter yesterday. I shot this while it was still coming down. We got about 2" and it is already melting away.
From back in September in my garden. We have had our first hard frost so the flowers are done for this year.
I'll be mining the archives while my foot is in the boot. Makes it hard to get around outside.

I have 5 of these bushes in my yard. They are about 4' tall and 6-8' wide and loaded with berries. Before long, the birds will have stripped them of their berries. In late winter, I cut them down to about 1' from the ground. They come back beautifully each year.
This old rickety fence,
defined a field's expanse,
It sort of augmented a dreary fall day,
while I was driving a different way.
It exists along a forgotten county road,
off a hiqhway on a map printed bold,
but where exactly it was I don't recall,
as I was being enraptured by colors of fall,
and I remember the main road I was on
but was diverted off Highway 80 in Wisconsin.
I thought it was a pretty scene
of a place I'd never been.
