A couple of American White Pelicans dwarf a Reddish Egret and almost seem amused at the little guy. Or perhaps they're thinking that the egret looks like a nice snack...
When viewing a Reddish Egret without other birds around, they look like a fairly large bird. So this gives a nice sense of just how huge the American White Pelicans are.
This encounter occurred along the gulf coast of Texas.

White-faced Ibis are not a common bird in central Alberta, but over the past few years we are seeing more of them in these parts.

The world of macro-photography has created a whole new set of challenges and adventures for me. I am really enjoying those challenges, especially when other wildlife photography opportunities are limited.
