I had a boring Sunday yesterday and so I started to experiment with my camera.
Believe me, I only experimented with my camera ;)

the process is so delicate; too much brain, and it becomes to rigid, too much heart and it misses structure; letting go but not too much ... and patience .... staying with it like with a child, until it becomes mature enough to carry on by itself...
I was about to turn it into a square but then felt that the left side would form a good counterweight to the busy right side.
A long time ago in a photo location far, far away… someone took some snaps. Then he processed them. And left them on his hard drive. A few lucky ones escaped and found a home of Flickr. But they were lonely and missed their fellow images. The pictures that were left behind felt sad and abandoned. Then, one day, the wizened old photographer found the neglected photoshop files and feeling sorry for the unloved images he decided to relook at what he had previously created. Instead of pressing the delete button, he started to explore and make some changes. The photos felt glad and joyful and asked the wrinkly snapper if they could join their friends on Flickr. And the shrivelled, ancient shutterbug agreed to do just that. And they all lived happily ever after.
And now the old fart of a photographer needs to catch up with his Flickr buddies

I'm focusing on making images and learning more, and will have less commenting Flickr time on vacation, so please no need to comment.
I'm working on my sunrise captures. Lisette is still sick, but a touch better. Going to Asheville's f32 photography club tonight, Reuter's Center, UNC campus.
The white in the foreground is a cloud inversion. The clouds are in the valley below and yet it's clear higher up-- always very moving and beautiful. It looks almost like water flowing. I took a video but poor quality with my camera. The dark stormier clouds were moving rather fast, and the higher clouds were still- quite beautiful and spirtual.

P.S. I'm dreaming of getting a DSLR camera-- but looking for one that is LIGHTWEIGHT. I have neck problems and can't carry heavy cameras on my neck, or even on my shoulders. I want a camera I can easily take on long walks- and that is not heavy. But I so love my Canon Powershot swivel screen, so I am hoping I can find a good light weight with a swivel screen. I welcome input from all you techies out there. And I'm thinking of maybe a New Years present-- asking only for contributions to a camera for my birthday in December and for the holidays -- and maybe, you never know. I love my Canon Powershot 630A- but would like a better sensor- and an ability to take higher ISO photos with less noise-- and just bigger (pixel size- and ability to print bigger) and better quality photos. I've never shot RAW, and given that I have stored way too many photos and filled up way too much storage space, I'm not sure that RAW is the way to go for me, but all the pros say RAW is better, so ... Again-- advice welcome.

Nikon 55mm f2.8 lens aperture closed down to f32. Shot handheld with a ringlight LED. Got some funky chromatic effects from the ringlight on the back lens- the colours are what it looked like. I was happy with the texture on the leaves. Backlit the aperture with my phone screen on white.

An in camera motion blur on this lone aluminum boat that was tied off in the bay near where we were for the past week...Our dog and I would visit this spot a few times a day...loved seeing it moving around on its rope seeming to look around the bay at different angles to make sure all was ok! Will try to catch up as I can...laundry, groceries, gardening catch up...sometimes you have to wonder if it is worth being away...OF COURSE IT IS!
