I love this cute little blooming grass!! It has the tiniest flowers that you could easily miss.

I have some of it in my yard, but this was taken at a nursery.

I was on my way home from a photo session at a park, and couldn't resist stopping.....after all I already had all my camera gear in the car!!!

Happy Gorgeous Green Thursday to all.

This will be the last post for a bit, I'll be busy and back to work!

Have a great weekend too! On the blog

Well can you do something out of this world?

This was taken right outside the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London. It’s a while since I’ve done any panning but this is a perfect location as there is a constant flow of cyclists flying around Parliament Square.

Thanks for visiting…..

Male anhinga.

Blue eye shadow means mating season. Anhingas develop this bright blue around the eyes when they are in mating season.

The anhinga (/ænˈhɪŋɡə/; Anhinga anhinga), sometimes called snakebird, darter, American darter, or water turkey, is a water bird of the warmer parts of the Americas. The word anhinga comes from the Brazilian Tupi language and means devil bird or snake bird. When swimming the origin of the name snakebird is apparent: only the colored neck appears above water so the bird looks like a snake ready to strike. They do not have external nares (nostrils) and breathe solely through their epiglottis.

The anhinga is placed in the darter family, Anhingidae, and is closely related to Indian (Anhinga melanogaster), African (A. rufa), and Australian (A. novaehollandiae) darters. Like other darters, the anhinga hunts by spearing fishes and other small prey using its sharp, slender beak. (Copied from Wikipedia)

I know a lot of people don't like Wood Storks for the way they look, but I think there's something special about them. To me, they're like the aged, wise man of the village. What about you?

Por una mirada...

flashata nella palla dell'occhio!

Dark eye junco in our icy redbud in low light and lightly falling snow. One of many coming around to enjoy the seed I put out in a spot I cleared in our front yard. Had thunderstorms with an inch or two or rain, then freezing rain and 1/4" ice followed by a few inches of snow. Definitely winter but crazy with thunderstorms before the snow. :) Not the sharpest photo but too cute not to save. Taken through a partially open front door.

Soulis: Withered Black-eyed Susans. Photo manipulation. I found them at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, Florida. They were actually considerably more yellow and bright. I decided to add, among other things, some wrinkles and discoloration. After all, it is supposed to be a photo manipulation. Thank you!
