This album contains photos of a road trip that Robin Hook and I took to Taft, California in March 2021. Robin's family lived in Taft and worked in the nearby oil fields. During his high school and college years, he also took summertime jobs in the oil fields and worked as a general roustabout. Since I had never been to that part of the world, and knew nothing about oil discovery and extraction, he generously offered to show me around town, school me in the oil business, summarize the remarkable story of Taft, and entertain me with a humorous memories of his Taft boyhood.
