Honey extraction with the help of old friends, 16/VII/2013, Etoile, France.

I spent an hour and a half clearing over a foot of snow off the car this morning, then taking a brief spin down the long driveway and back to see how bad it was. Analysis: bad! The main roads are mostly clear, but side roads and parking lots are still pretty icy.

You have to balance the extractor or it does what an unbalanced washing machine does: it thumps and wobbles. I found a full body embrace of the extractor reduced the anxiety this wobble caused if not so much the wobble itself.

“The Extraction”

This short film was created for the “48 Hour Film Project”, and was directed by Kimberly Scott and Chris Pichado. It’s successful completion could not have been accomplished without the help of the entire Hidden Track Films crew!

I had the privilege of being part of the team that helped complete the film from start to finish! Each person played an important part: the story development, props, lighting, shooting, audio, directing, producing, editing. All this was done within 48 Hours.

As of the posting of this blog we had just received news that our film had been selected as part of the “Best Of” awards. We wont find out the categories until this coming Tuesday!

Stay tuned for the video link! : )

Thanks, RJemal

A shout out to my friend Rod Guajardo for linking me up with the crew at Hidden Track Films.

UPDATE 8/23/2011:

Now our short film will show at the Taos Shortz Film Fest: 48 Hour Film Project International Filmapalooza!

Tactical overview of the Ghost team's positions in the Church yard. No sooner had we moved into the extraction zone than we started taking incoming rounds...

I hastily got my team into defensive positions behind the walls nearest the church - just in time as it turned out!

This sort of squad tactical management is what raises Ghost Recon above the normal 'run & gun' games like Call of Duty. I find it *more* exciting to have to command a team in the heat of battle than simply looking after myself in games like CoD4. The above situation is typical, while trying to get my team into defensive positions I suddenly found that one of my men had lagged behind and was also wounded - meantime we started coming under intense fire from snipers...

It's all adrenaline pumping stuff!

I wrote a short piece on this particular action in the church yard here: Milgeek - 'Ambush! Tale from Ghost Recon (GRAW2)'

Don't know what this thing was. About the size of a large bumblebee, but kind of looked and flew like a hummingbird.
