I don't know why but for some reason people that I have shown this image to find it makes them feel a little sad. Perhaps it is because the smoke is the hope that the fire will return, but we can see that too will soon will be gone.
Extinction Rebellion is a global environmental movement with the stated aim of using nonviolent civil disobedience to compel government action to avoid tipping points in the climate system, biodiversity loss, and the risk of social and ecological collapse.

Heard fascinating discussion on de-extinction -- the effort to bring back extinct animals like the Wooly Mammoth. Environmentalists encourage the use of all of those resources to save the animals that are in danger now.
