At this rambling, many-roomed venue for the 2025 Art Prize on South Division Street the Sunday afternoon was punctuated by this demonstration of the seven Sound Bowls (Tibetan singing bowls), each associated with a particular Chakra, according to the woman presenting them. Afterwards I learned the lowest frequency is 396 Hz and the highest bowl is pitched at 963 Hz. There is no "A 440 Hz" from the Western scale, but one of the bowls is something like 419 Hz.

Due to the warm weather the portable fans were rattling during the video recording: one clip is near the end of the demonstration and the other is at the end with one final deep breath.

The figure of speech, 'preaching to the choir,' means that the message is directed to those who need little convincing; they already agree with the speaker's assertions. This morning was protest against the aid given by the city police and county sheriff to federal efforts to root out productive members of the society, based on absence of legal documents and based on skin color. And since it featured protest songs for all to join in, the speeches that followed the choral expression and came before the march to the incarceration building truly was 'preaching to the choir'. Whatever counter-protestors or provocateurs were present did not distract or otherwise upset the proceedings.

This sequence of clips gives a sample of the proceedings, both singing and speaking.

The competitors are seated on the stage with their backs to the 8 or 10 chairs filled with audience members. Commentators are also seated on the stage, but they face the audience, not the big screen. Instead. their observations come from the video monitor in front of them.

Admiring the complexity of moving patterns as large volumes of water race over the hard river bottom, it boggles the mind to imagine what the math would look like to describe these patterns.
