the EXT-8000 is a loader/repair mech that works on the rest of the Battle armor Battalion. they are usually built from parts leftover from other mechs but many of the parts are quite robust and seldom breakdown.
the design is fairly simple, with the exception of the extending waist. constructed from a construction scissor lift, it allows the mech to work on the taller mechs like the Devastator and Avalanche while not making it too large to equip and repair the smaller armors like the lancer squads or the vanguard
NOTES: really I built the arms for this one along time ago while playing with the ideas for the lancer, I had intended on building a much smaller exo-suit as a pre-war prototype for the mechs such as the lancer, I never got around to design much else for it but a matching leg design and really lost interest in the design until I had the idea to build a repair mech for the rest of the fleet, even then I just played around with some extending arm designs or a slider system until I had the scissor lift waist idea after I made a mock up the waist everything else basically designed itself! I ended up using a lot of the older greys after I built the feet but a few parts use the newer shades here and there

It was March 2020 and we had an extended family ski trip out to Big White in British Columbia planned. We were five adults and three teenagers. On the monday of that week COVID hit. BIg White shut down, our flights were cancelled. We were stranded approximately 4,000 km from home.
My wife suggested we try to rent some RV's (camper vans, recreational vehicles) and drive home. So we did.
The pictures in this album are from that adventure.
Great Eastern Railway Holden J69 68499 - rebuilt from a J67, with extended side-tanks - at Stratford shed in early 1962. The loco was based in Scotland in the late-1940s, and still has the extended wooden shunters platform at the rear, from that time.. It also has a GER-era flatter cab roof.
The loco was withdrawn in September 1962, and scrapped in early 1963. One 'original' GER J69 has survived, and is currently (2019) on display at the Bressingham Steam Museum, in Norfolk.
The entire Stratford site has completely vanished, and is now the location of the 2012 Olympic complex, and 'Stratford International' station.

Kilchurn Castle (/kəlˈxʊərn/)[1] is a ruined structure on a rocky peninsula at the northeastern end of Loch Awe, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It was first constructed in the mid-15th century as the base of the Campbells of Glenorchy, who extended both the castle and their territory in the area over the next 150 years. After the Campbells became Earls of Breadalbane and moved to Taymouth Castle, Kilchurn fell out of use and was in ruins by 1770. It is now in the care of Historic Environment Scotland and is open to the public in summerIn traditional genealogies of Clan Campbell, the clan's origins are in the ancient Britons of Strathclyde.[5] The earliest Campbell in written record is Gillespie, whose name is recorded in 1263.[5] Early grants to Gillespie and his relations were almost all in east-central Scotland. The family's connection with Argyll came some generations earlier when a Campbell married the heiress of the O'Duines and she brought with her the Lordship of Loch Awe.[5] Because of this, the early clan name was Clan O'Duine. The name was later styled Clann Diarmaid based on a fancied connection to Diarmuid the Boar, a great hero from early Celtic mythology.[5]
The original seat of Clan Campbell was either Innes Chonnel Castle on Loch Awe or Caisteal na Nigheann Ruaidh on Loch Avich. The clan's power soon spread throughout Argyll, though at first the Campbells were under the domination of the Lords of Lorne, chiefs of Clan MacDougall. The MacDougalls killed the Campbell chief Cailean Mór (Colin Campbell) in 1296. (See: Battle of Red Ford.) All subsequent chiefs of Clan Campbell have taken MacCailean Mór as their Gaelic patronymic.[5]
Between 1200 and 1500, the Campbells emerged as one of the most powerful families in Scotland, dominant in Argyll and capable of wielding a wider influence and authority from Edinburgh to the Hebrides and western Highlands.[6]
Wars of Scottish Independence
Early in the 14th century, the family of Colin Campbell became firm supporters of King Robert the Bruce and benefited from his successes through grants of lands, titles, and good marriages.[6] In 1314, the Campbells fought for Scotland against England in the Wars of Scottish Independence at the Battle of Bannockburn.[6] Throughout the 14th century, Clan Campbell rapidly expanded its lands and power. The expansion is explained in part by the loyalty of Sir Neil Campbell (Niall mac Caile) (died 1316) to the cause of Robert the Bruce, a loyalty that was rewarded with marriage to Bruce's sister Mary.[6] The family was closely associated with the Stewarts and the Bruces in the time of Cailean Mór.[5] Sir Neil, as a staunch ally of Robert the Bruce, was rewarded with extensive lands that had been taken from Clan MacDougall, the Lords of Lorne, and other enemies of the Bruces in Argyll.[5]
15th century and royal relations
Innes Chonnel Castle on Loch Awe, possibly the earliest seat of Clan Campbell.
The Campbells gave support to the Crown throughout the 15th century.[5] By the end of the 15th century, the power of the Lords of the Isles (chiefs of Clan Donald), the Crown's most powerful rivals, had been broken, and the Campbells were the main power in the area.[5] From this time onward, the Campbells acted as the central authority in the area; this transition of power might be the real cause of the ancient enmity between the Campbells and the MacDonalds.[5]
Descendants of Sir Duncan Campbell, 1st Lord Campbell (Donnchadh), and his wife Lady Marjorie Stewart are descendants of Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland, and Robert II Stewart, King of Scotland. Lady Marjorie Stewart (born circa 1390) was the daughter of King Robert II's son, Robert Stewart, 1st Duke of Albany.[6] This makes all descendants of Sir Duncan Campbell and Lady Marjorie Stewart descendants of Robert I Bruce and of most of the early kings of Scotland.[6]
The title of 1st Lord Campbell was created in 1445. In the second half of the 15th century, the Campbells played an increasingly prominent role in Scotland. During his reign, James I of Scotland launched a great political assault on the Albany Stewarts and their allies in the west. However, Duncan Campbell, 1st Lord Campbell (Donnchadh), escaped the fate of his Albany kinsmen, who all were either executed or exiled.[6]
Colin Campbell, 1st Earl of Argyll (Cailean), was ennobled as Earl of Argyll in 1457 and later became Baron of Lorn. He also was granted lands in Knapdale. The title and land grants were signs that the Argylls were one of the major forces in Scotland.[6] In 1493, after the forfeiture of the MacDonalds as Lords of the Isles, the Campbell lords might well have viewed themselves as natural successors to Clan Donald in terms of leadership of the Gaels of the Hebrides and western Highlands.[6] The Campbell lordship thus remained one of the most significant bastions of Gaelic learning and culture in late medieval and early modern Scotland.[6]
In the Battle of Knockmary in 1490, men of Clan Campbell and Clan Drummond joined forces to defeat Clan Murray.[7] The battle also became known as the Massacre of Monzievaird. In 1499, Campbell of Inverliver defeated Clan Calder at the Battle of Daltullich. Sir John Campbell, the younger son of the Earl of Argyll, subsequently received the estate of Calder and Cawdor Castle through his marriage to the estate's heiress, Muriel Calder.[8][9][10]
16th century and clan conflicts
In 1513, the 2nd Earl of Argyll was killed along with many of his clan at the Battle of Flodden.[11][12]
The Battle of Langside took place in 1568 where the chief of Clan Campbell, Archibald Campbell, 5th Earl of Argyll, commanded the forces who fought for Mary, Queen of Scots.[11]
In 1567, a conflict took place between the Clan Campbell and Clan Arthur. Duncan MacArthur and his son of the Loch Awe MacArthur family, became the victims of their own success when jealousy of their power drove neighbours to drown them in Loch Awe during a skirmish with the Clan Campbell. In the archives of Inveraray Castle a charter dated 1567 confirms that a pardon was granted to the Campbells of Inverawe for what became known as the "drowning of Clan Arthur".[13] It is believed that the MacArthurs trying to defend themselves were driven into the loch. Centuries later in the 1970s an ancient sword was unearthed on the shore of the loch.[14][15]
For two centuries from the mid-15th century the Clan Gordon and Clan Campbell controlled the north-east and west of Scotland respectively, as the magnates who straddled the divide between the Scottish Highlands and Scottish Lowlands.[16] In 1594, Archibald Campbell, 7th Earl of Argyll was granted a Royal Commission against George Gordon, 6th Earl of Huntly but was defeated at the Battle of Glenlivet.[17]
17th century and Civil War
The support that the Campbells gave to the central Government brought them rewards: In 1607, Archibald Campbell, 7th Earl of Argyll was granted the former MacDonald lands of Kintyre and in 1615 Campbell of Cawdor was allowed to purchase the Isle of Islay which had previously belonged to the Macleans of Duart.[5]
Kilchurn Castle, seat of the Campbells of Glenorchy.
At the Battle of Inverlochy (1645), the Scottish Covenanter forces led by Archibald Campbell, 1st Marquess of Argyll were defeated by the Royalist forces of James Graham, 1st Marquess of Montrose whose army was mainly made up of Scots of the Clan MacDonald, Clan Maclean, and others from Ireland. After the Battle of Inverlochy, Montrose and the Macleans burnt Castle Campbell, but the castle remained in Campbell hands.[18] In the wake of the Battle of Inverlochy the Clan Lamont took the opportunity to raid the Campbell lands.[19][20] The vengeful Campbells also ravaged the lands of the Clan Maclean who had fought against them at Inverlochy and in due course the Maclean's Duart Castle surrendered.[21]
In 1648, at the Battle of Stirling (1648) the Kirk Party Covenanter forces of Archibald Campbell, 1st Marquess of Argyll were defeated by the Engager Covenanter forces of Sir George Munro, 1st of Newmore who supported the Earl of Lanark. Among Argyll's dead was William Campbell of Glenfalloch killed in action.[22]
In 1672, a feud took place between the Clan Campbell and Clan Sinclair. Debt had forced George Sinclair, 6th Earl of Caithness to resign his titles and estates in favour of Sir John Campbell.[23] Campbell took possession of the estates on Sinclair's death in May 1676, and was created earl of Caithness in June the following year.[23] Sinclair's heir, George Sinclair of Keiss disputed the claim and seized the land in 1678.[23] This was followed by the Battle of Altimarlech, 13 July 1680, between the Clan Campbell and the Clan Sinclair in which the Campbells were victorious.[23] Legend has it that so many Sinclairs were killed that the Campbells were able to cross the river without getting their feet wet.[23] Having failed to regain his inheritance by force, Sinclair of Keiss then turned to the law. He took his place as Earl of Caithness on 15 July 1681, and his lands were restored on 23 September.[23] Campbell was made Earl of Breadalbane by way of compensation.[23]
In 1678, Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll led the Campbell of Argyll militia on an expedition to the Isle of Mull and took Duart Castle from the Clan Maclean.[24] However, Argyll was beheaded on 30 June 1685 for his participation in Argyll's Rising in support of the Monmouth Rebellion to depose Catholic James VII and II and place the Protestant James, Duke of Monmouth on the throne.[25] Later in 1692, Archibald Campbell, 1st Duke of Argyll again gained possession of the Maclean's Duart Castle.[26]
In 1692, 38 unarmed people of the Clan MacDonald of Glencoe were killed in the Massacre of Glencoe when a Government initiative to suppress Jacobitism was entangled in the long running feud between Clan MacDonald and Clan Campbell. The slaughter of the MacDonalds at the hands of the soldiers, led by Captain Robert Campbell of Glenlyon, after enjoying their hospitality for over a week was a major affront of Scots Law and Highland tradition. The majority of soldiers were not Campbells, but a roll call from a few months before included six Campbells in addition to Cpt. Robt. Campbell: Corporal Achibald Campbell, Private Archibald Campbell (elder), Private Donald Campbell (younger), Private Archibald Campbell (younger), Private James Campbell, Private Donald Campbell (elder), and Private Duncan Campbell.[27] See also: Earl of Argyll's Regiment of Foot.
18th century and Jacobite Uprisings
Jacobite rising of 1715
During the Jacobite risings of the 18th century the Clan Campbell supported the British-Hanoverian Government. On 23 October 1715, chief John Campbell, 2nd Duke of Argyll learned that a detachment of rebels was passing by Castle Campbell, towards Dunfermline. He sent out a body of cavalry which attacked the rebel party and defeated it in what is now known as the Skirmish of Dunfermline and took a number of prisoners, taking only light casualties.[28] A month later the British Government forces, including men from Clan Campbell, fought and defeated the Jacobites at the Battle of Sheriffmuir in 1715. However, there were in fact a small number of Campbells who took the side of the Jacobites led by the son of Campbell of Glenlyon whose father had commanded the Government troops at the Massacre of Glencoe against the MacDonalds 22 years earlier. These two families then settled their differences and swore to be brothers in arms, fighting si

Tabular icebergs that can extend for many miles are created from chunks of ice that break off from the ice shelves. This was at least 50 metres tall. You can see the layers from the different seasons along the top and further down the natural process of erosion has created beautiful shapes and given the light, shadows. In this I can see a whole scene in what seems like the form of a tapestry.
Wedding Jasmine has now been fully deboxed. She is standing, supported by the included doll stand. Her skirt and veil are fully extended.
Detailed photos of my Limited Edition Aladdin and Jasmine 17'' Wedding Doll Set. I received it from the Disney Store on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. It arrived in perfect condition. I show the set boxed, during deboxing, and completely deboxed. My set is #155 of 250. The shipping carton was labeled at Cart #005, so the actual edition number was offset by 150.
Their outfits are very beautiful. Their colors are coordinated, being white and gold. I placed the jeweled and feathered turban on Aladdin for most of the shots. Aladdin can free stand, as is usual for male dolls, but he isn't that stable, so I used the included stand for most of the shots. Aladdin is fully articulated, as with all the LE 17'' male dolls since Eric in 2013. So he has ball jointed elbow, wrist and ankle joints, and hinged knee joints.
Jasmine had the usual problem of her massive hair pulling her backwards in her display stand, so it was hard to make her stand up straight when her hair was behind her. So for the final photos of her with Aladdin, I draped her hair partly over her shoulder, so she would be more balanced. As with the Wedding Cinderella doll, there are an incredible number of gems in Jasmine's dress, especially in the golden embroidery at the hem of her skirt. The gems are gold and clear, and are of varying sizes.
They are listed as 17'' H, but Aladdin is actually 18'' H, and Jasmine is 16.5'' H.

In keeping with the theme of my mirrorless workshop in Santa Fe, I carried my Nex-7 instead of my DSLR as Linda and I walked the galleries along this famous one mile section of road which according to our guide book has the highest concentration of art galleries anywhere. I have to admit that it was quite refreshing and liberating to only carry a small but capable camera and not worry about lugging the much heavier camera and lenses.

On a trip to the Singapore Botanical garden, I found this kid. He was visiting with his grand parents, and was trying to feed the ducks in the lake.
He was so cute and sweet, and each time the duck would grab a piece of his bread, he was overjoyed. His day was made. It triggered my own memories of childhood, where we would feed the monkeys in the streets and feel the same way.
Its funny to think how such simple things are actually enough to bring us a feeling of elation. While as we are grown up, despite having the best of things in life, we still are not finding joy. Where does this feeling of joy disappear when we age? How do we lose it?
Should not our innocence be safe guarded?

Apart from working the Carlisle-Leeds 1E23/1M72 service on a regular basis, D200 alias 40122 hauled numerous railtours during its extended reprieve.
In this telephoto shot, D200 is seen here on Crewe shed, after arriving back at Crewe with 1Z26. The loco is looking resplendent and clean as usual, unlike most of the Class 40 fleet back in the 1980s.
Almost a year after the demise of the Class 40s, in December 1985, the loco had worked 1Z26 'The Christmas Cracker IV' railtour, returning as far as Crewe. After an overnight, I captured the loco resting on Crewe Diesel Shed on the Sunday morning :)

During the 1980s, I spent a lot of my time riding around the British Rail network, mainly chasing Class 40s and then Class 50s, but also seeing and riding behind a number of other classes.
I also made a few tape recordings at that time - many from the front window, some from the platform - using my trusty 'ghetto-blaster' or 'boom box' - and now these recordings can finally be heard 😍)
NOW on SoundCloud! Enjoy the sound of the English Electric Type 4 - for 20+ mins you can immerse yourself in reliving the experience of hanging out of a Mark 1 carriage window behind a classic diesel 😎
The recordings I made on the day were recorded onto a Maxell II metal tape and have lasted quite well over the last 40 years - some distortion when the loco is on full power, but atmospheric all the same!

The British Rail Class 40s were built by English Electric between 1958 and 1962. They were numbered D200-D399. Despite their initial success, by the time the last examples were entering service they were already being replaced on some top-level duties by more powerful locomotives. As they were slowly relegated from express passenger uses, the type found work on secondary passenger and freight services where they worked for many years. The final locomotives ended regular service in 1985. The locomotives were commonly known as "Whistlers" because of the distinctive noise made by their turbochargers.
British Railways originally ordered ten Class 40s, then known as "English Electric Type 4s", as evaluation prototypes. They were built at the Vulcan Foundry in Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire. The first locomotive, D200, was delivered to Stratford on 14 March 1958. Following fitter and crew training, D200 made its passenger début on an express train from London Liverpool Street to Norwich on 18 April 1958. Five of the prototypes, Nos. D200, D202-D205, were trialled on similar services on the former Great Eastern routes, whilst the remaining five, Nos. D201, D206-D209, worked on Great Northern services on the East Coast Main Line.

Title:
“A.I. - About Apple’s Identity”
www.flickr.com/photos/stealaway/54271473379/in/dateposted...
Will Apple listen to Mark Zuckerberg’s criticism?
I don’t think so—especially not for someone like me who was captivated by the dream of Apple Vision Pro.
Mark Zuckerberg of Meta appeared on a popular podcast and criticized Apple, claiming they haven’t released an innovative product since the iPhone and that their sales have been declining.
While criticizing Apple on a podcast originating from Apple itself may sound like a light joke, I think he was quite serious about it. After all, he now wields the weapon of AR glasses.
Supported by various institutions and a talented team, he may have achieved some notable goals. Yet, as an old Apple fan who’s been using products since the PowerBook 540c, I can’t feel any sense of craftsmanship identity from him.
This critique extends to other leading tech companies of our time as well: Meta, Amazon, Tesla, Microsoft, and Google.
Simply listing these company names likely brings their logos and the faces of their leaders to mind for those reading this.
I once wrote that Steve Jobs wasn’t an artist.
He was skilled at weaving together scattered images from our current world, expanding them, and linking them to the future. That was his specialty.
The one who actually created was Jonathan Ive. There are probably others like me who share this minority opinion.
However, seeing how the IT leaders mentioned earlier change their company policies at the mere prospect of Trump regaining power, I can’t help but voice my opinion:
The AR glasses, cars, and other products they create lack a crucial concept. Whether you call it a profound ideology or a lighter term like identity, it’s missing.
True, Tim Cook and the current Apple team have become more prone to letting slip details about unreleased products.
As I’ve often written, I love music.
When artists isolate themselves from the world, locking themselves in studios to pour their anger, hatred, joy, and sorrow wholeheartedly into a single note, they entrust something to their work.
Once they finish an album and release it, they share what they felt while creating it. (The artist I admire, Prince, rarely explained his works, so I had to interpret his completed pieces on my own.)
Until the album is complete and released, these artists say nothing.
The ones who move me most are those kinds of artists.
The faint light of Apple’s innovation within me hasn’t been extinguished.
Not even last year’s Apple Vision Pro, criticized as a major failure, could extinguish it. On the contrary, it radiates an even stronger light than the iPhone.
This isn’t just a novel electronic device—it conveys a sense of ideology or thought beyond its intricate electronic components.
Unfortunately, I doubt I’ll ever feel that same sense of ideology or thought from Meta’s AR glasses or Tesla’s cars.
I’ve written at length, but here’s my conclusion:
“Apple CEO Tim Cook Donates Over $1.5 Million to Trump’s Inauguration”
gigazine.net/news/20250104-apple-ceo-tim-cook-donates-1-m...
At first glance, it might seem like Tim Cook, like other IT companies, has sold his soul. But that’s not the case.
While Tim Cook personally donates to Trump, Apple as a company has refrained from doing the same as other companies.
Apple didn’t bow to Trump.
If someone were to ask me what Apple’s ideology or thought is, I would answer:
Apple is a group of people who believe in themselves.
Steve Jobs is probably laughing at this overly serious piece I’ve written from somewhere up in heaven.
A company that doesn’t kowtow to Trump—that’s Apple for you. :)

Main story
There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.
One to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.
The other to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days staring at the shine
quietly.
Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.
I face myself to change tomorrow a vague day into something certain.
That is the meaning of a rebirth.
I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.
After she left I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After
she left # how many times did I depend too much on her # doubt her # envy her and keep on telling lies
until I realized it is love?
I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the
daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.
I had been thinking about such a thing.
However I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see
something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me # a guy filled with ambiguous unstable
tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.
Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

“” A.I. アップルのアイデンティティについて””
www.flickr.com/photos/stealaway/54271473379/in/dateposted...
gigazine.net/news/20250104-apple-ceo-tim-cook-donates-1-m...

Light rays extend from the heavens to illuminate strange rock formations just east of Yosemite along the shore of Mono Lake.
Mono Lake's Tufa (too'-fah) towers are formed when calcium rich spring water flows in to the carbonate (baking soda) rich lake water resulting in strange and bizarre limestone formations. As the lake was drained to supply Southern California's increasing water needs, the tufas were quickly exposed making for some very interesting and strange landscape photography. Some of the towers an exceed 30 feet (9 meters) high. Most of the tufa towers are several hundred feet from shore but those closest to shore have begun to recede back in to the lake as new water laws increase the level of Mono Lake. The increase in water level was needed to reduce salinity and restore islands that act as natural nesting rookery. As the lake has risen, birds have returned to the islands which are again protected from coyote and other predators.
One of the great things about shooting Mono Lake is that you likely have to pass though Yosemite on the way. The landscape changes quickly from high alpine forests and lakes to stark desert vistas. The ever-changing landscape has ample photo opportunities so your sure to come away with something. Note the small swallow atop one of the tufas. They are bright
blue green with a violet tail. When you visit, expect a LOT of flies. So many that the shore will turn from salt white to pure black. But fear not, these flies are small brine flies and will avoid you as you walk by and provide the birds with ample food. Bring plenty of water. This may look refreshing but it's quite salty and though you can safely taste it, drinking any would make you seriously ill.

Anna is now fully deboxed. Her skirts are stiff enough to permit her to free stand, although she a bit unstable this way. She is posed standing, supported by her included doll stand. All photos were taken with the built-in camera flash.
Anna is in her coronation gown, with a velvet black bodice and green skirt. The bodice is form fitting, with multicolored embroidery and jewels, with a dark green satin shoulder straps. Her outer skirt is made of panels of yellow green embroidered and jeweled satin alternating with plain dark green satin panels, the pattern repeating ten times. The lighter green panels are tacked together with plastic T-tabs, so we don't see the full extent of the skirt. When the sections are freed, the skirt can expand to a full semicircle. Under the skirt is a full length yellow green satin slip, with a wide lacy hem. Under that is a 3/4 length stiff tulle petticoat. Under that are yellow green satin knee-length bloomers. Finally under that are full length stockings or leggings. Anna is certainly dressed for cold weather. Her legs are wired to the doll stand at the ankles and knees. Her feet are posable, and she is wearing black flats, which is rather disappointing given the gorgeous and unique shoes that Elsa is wearing. She is wearing a necklace, with the pendant stuck to her chest.
Her face is very movie accurate. She has a round face, with huge blue green eyes, long gently curving rooted eyelashes, thin dark brown eyebrows. She has a small pointy nose, thin dark pink lips in a slight smirk, and large round ears. She has orange freckles all over her face, extending down to her neck, shoulders and chest, and even on her upper back. She has a very pale complexion, but her sister Elsa is much, much paler. Her body is the usual LE Princess body, with full articulation in her arms and legs, and an upper torso joint. Her rusty red hair is fashioned into a large bun in the back of her head, with a spiraling braid around a small bun in the middle, out of which comes several thin ponytails, including two very skinny braids, and also several satin ribbons. In front are long curly bangs, and a tight flat braid over it. There is a streak of white hair from her right side, and ending in one of the thin pony tails hanging off the small bun.
Anna is very beautiful and elegant, very much a Disney Princess.
First look at the Harrods special edition of the Disney Store's Limited Edition Anna and Elsa Doll Set. I purchased it through a reseller, as it was only sold at the Harrods London store. It was released on November 1, 2013, in an edition of 100. The retail cost is more than four times that of the separately sold LE Anna and Elsa dolls (which will be released worldwide on November 20, 2013, in an edition size of 2500). My set is #39 of 100, and I received it on November 11, 2013.
They are 17'' fully articulated dolls, with doll stands and certificated of authenticity. Anna is in her coronation gown, Elsa is in her Snow Queen gown. As might be expected, the dolls are considerably different in details than the ''regular'' limited edition dolls. In particular there is considerably more crystals on the outfits, and embroidered snowflakes completely cover the outer gown (cape) of Elsa. Also, Elsa's skin has a pearly shiny surface, very similar to the skin of LE Ursula, although it has a much paler purplish color. She has unique shoes, iridescent blue high heeled shoes with a snowflake design. She also bucks the trend of fully articulated legs in the Limited Edition dolls, by having fixed angled feet. She looks much more elegant with fixed feet in the high heels.
Chapel of our Lady of Sorrows.
The chapel extends longitudinally from the entrance of the church from the square.
The ducal chapel dates from the 12th century and was first dedicated to the Madonna of the Snows, then to Saint Mary of the Crib and, after the battle, to St. Lawrence while waiting for the construction of the present church.
Two important dates:
1572 – foundation and instalment of the knights of the Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus. Their Grand Master was Emmanuel Philibert and the Order has played an important role in the history of Savoy.
1578 – first exposition of the Holy Shroud.
To the left of the altar, the gilt royal box from where the dukes attended the religious functions. To commemorate the Shroud, and by concession of the Holy See, in the 18th century Bernardo Vittone built the twelve-step holy staircase in front of the altar which must be climbed on one’s knees.
The San Lorenzo's Church is at Piazza Castello and beside of Palazzo Reale, at the center of Turin, Italy..
The Real Chiesa of S. Lorenzo, restored on the occasion of the two Ostensionis of the Shroud (happened in 1998 and in 2000), he/she offers to the visitor, is assiduous, the vision is occasional marveled of this jewel of Guarino Guarini.
The Priests of the church of S. Lorenzo wish to each to bring itself, after having tasted how much the creation guariniana offers to the intelligence and the heart, that feelings of architectural and religious harmony that Guarino Guarini, father Teatino, knew how to amalgamate with his genius of architect and with the faith of the believer.
A visitor to the Church of San Lorenzo – a veritable work of art – reaches piazza Castello and sees no façade marking the church. Piazza Castello is a square with a theatre without a façade (Regio), a façade of a palace (Madama) with no corresponding palace, and a church without a façade. One in fact was designed but never built to maintain the architectural harmony of the square.
The church is next to the gates of the royal palace.
On the church front there is a plaque commemorating the dead on the Russian front and above a bell that strikes 10 times at 5.15 p.m. every day.
Why is this Royal Chapel dedicated to San Lorenzo (St. Lawrence)?
In 1557, Emmanuel Philibert, Duke of Savoy, and his cousin Phillip II, King of Spain, were fighting the French at Saint-Quentin in Flanders.
They made a votive offering to build a church in the name of the saint whose feast fell on the day of their eventual victory; that victory came on 10 August, St. Lawrence’s day.
