Flowering bush with yellow flowers in Montmartre with the white dome of Sacré-Cœur in the distance. The square consists of a green area extending upwards to the top of the hill in a series of terraces with lawns, flowerbeds, shrubs, and trees.
The park was known until 2004 as Square Willette and was renamed after Louise Michel (1830-1905), a French anarchist who participated in the Paris Commune of 1871 before being deported to New Caledonia.
We are fortunate to have a Western Bluebird family in our yard. Mom and Dad are keeping busy feeding their young. My last post was a portrait of Mrs. B… This shot is a portrait of her Hubby, a Beautiful Bluebird, indeed.
Western Bluebirds are small thrushes that usually perch upright. They are stocky with thin, straight bills and fairly short tails.
Male Western Bluebirds are shiny blue above with rust-orange extending from a vest on the breast onto the upper back. Females are gray-buff with a pale orange wash on the breast and blue tints to the wings and tail. The throat is blue in males and gray-buff in females, and the lower belly is whitish.
These birds are highly social, and usually feed in flocks during the non-breeding season. They hunt for terrestrial insects by dropping to the ground from a low perch. Western Bluebirds also frequently feed on berries in trees. Western Bluebirds rely on trees both for nesting cavities and hunting perches, and also perch on fences and utility lines.

Is there such a thing as being too relaxed? I had to take this blind as I was holding the camera high above her - a couple had missing heads but I managed it in the end

Wards Public Marina is on the Nicomekl River in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.
It started out as a farm in the late 1800's. The 1894 historic farmhouse can be seen in the previous image. ( The house and it's outbuildings back the marina )
The Ward family included a small private marina after WWII. Years later the dock was extended.
In 1985, the City of Surrey purchased Wards Marina and the surrounding property.
The HISTORIC STEWART FARMHOUSE is now a heritage museum site.
The property was named, Elgin Heritage Park.

Once the orientation of the sun changes, the water from the bottom of the silver bridge I thought and extend to here. However, whether the difference in the angle, silvery shine after this it has faded.

The favorite color of most people is blue. But red also has a lot to offer in his gradients.

The All American Park in Quincy, Illinois provides this beautiful view of the Bay Bridge (on the left) and the Quincy Memorial Bridge (Highway 24, on the right). Large barges headed up the Mississippi River frequently pass beneath the bridges.
Quincy is a beautiful river city. According to Wikipedia, "In the fall of 2010, [it] was listed as eighth in the top fifteen small cities to raise a family in the United States by Forbes magazine for its commute times, high school graduation rate, median household income, home ownership rate and cost of living. Forbes compared 126 cities with a population under 100,000 and ranked them on these five quality-of-life measures."
I also found this to be of interest, "During the winter of 1838-1839, five thousand members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Mormons, on their way west, were driven from their homes in Missouri and arrived in Quincy. Though vastly outnumbered by the new arrivals, the residents of Quincy provided them food and shelter. Joseph Smith then led his followers 40 miles (64 km) up river to Nauvoo, Illinois. The kindness extended by the people of Quincy continues to be remembered by Mormons. In 2002, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir gave a benefit concert in Quincy, with the proceeds donated to the city as an expression of gratitude."

Long-beaked common dolphins are gregarious and are often seen ‘porpoising' at the water surface, breaching and bow-riding for extended periods of time. They are also highly vocal and like the short-beaked common dolphin, can be heard whistling to each other when they are above the surface of the water. They typically travel in large social groups numbering between 10 and 50 dolphins.
Højbro Plads (literally "High Bridge Square") is a rectangular public square located between the adjoining Amagertorv and Slotsholmen Canal in the City Centre of Copenhagen, Denmark. It takes its name from the Højbro Bridge which connects it to the Slotsholmen island on the other side of the canal while Gammel Strand extends along the near side of the canal.
The most striking feature of the square is an equestrian statue of Absalon, the warrior-bishop who has traditionally been credited as the founder of Copenhagen. It was inaugurated in 1901 to commemorate the septcentennial of his death.

Capturing the ethereal beauty of Praia Três Castelos in Portugal, this captivating photograph showcases the mesmerizing allure of long exposure photography. Taken at the end of the day, when the sun gracefully sinks below the horizon, the image transports viewers to a realm of tranquility and serenity. The artful play of light and motion through the extended exposure reveals the interplay of soft waves gently caressing the sandy shore, casting an enchanting spell on the entire scene. The vibrant hues of the setting sun paint the sky with a myriad of warm colors, harmonizing perfectly with the deepening shadows and silhouettes of the distant cliffs. This photograph is a testament to the natural wonders found at Praia Três Castelos, where time seemingly slows down, inviting contemplation and appreciation of the breathtaking landscapes that nature so generously bestows.
White-winged Doves (Zenaida asiatica) are semi-tropical doves whose native range extends from the southwestern U.S. through Mexico and Central America, into parts of western South America, and to some Caribbean islands. They are also residents in Florida, where they were introduced. The majority of White-winged Doves are seasonally migratory. They overwinter in Mexico and Central America and come to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico in April to breed, departing again in September. Some will overwinter in their breeding range, especially in residential areas where food remains available. In the southern parts of their range, they are year-round residents. There are twelve subspecies of White-winged Doves. Western or Desert White-winged Doves (Zenaida asiatica mearnsii) and Eastern White-winged Doves (Zenaida asiatica asiatica) are the most numerous and widely distributed subspecies.
Introductions of Mexican birds started in Florida in 1959 in Homestead, Dade County, and the FWC subsequently captured their offspring and released them as far north as Lake County. Since then, there are occurrences of year-round birds, and breeding now occurs in the state. Night roosts of more than 1,000 doves have been reported in Polk County. Flocks fly out to surrounding fields each morning to feed on wild seeds and fruits. These nonmigratory breeding birds are all derived from introductions.
I found this one in my yard with several more of its species. I now see more of these dove in Central Florida than the Mourning Dove!

Medium-sized woodpecker found from Costa Rica to northern South America. Pale buffy overall with a red nape and belly and black-and-white barring on the back. Female has a pale crown with restricted red on the back of the nape; male has red extending to top of crown. Common in open woodlands, second growth, and gardens. Distinctive in range, but hybridizes extensively with Hoffmann’s Woodpecker on the Pacific slope in Costa Rica. Hybrids usually show orange nape and belly.

One source says the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains range is about 1,000 km (620 mi) in length. Its highest point is 7,090 m (23,260 ft) located 100 km (62 mi) to the northwest of Lhasa. The range is parallel to the Himalayas in the Transhimalayas, and north of the Brahmaputra River. [3] Another source says the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains extend 460 miles (740 km) from Nyêmo County in the west to Ranwu County (the southwestern part of Baxoi County) in the east.
Its highest peak is Mount Nyenchen Tanglha (Nyainqêntanglha Feng) at 7,162 metres (23,497 ft).[4]
The southern side of the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains is precipitous, and falls by around 2,000 metres (6,600 ft), while the northern side is fairly level and descends about 1,000 metres (3,300 ft). Most of the mountains are below 6,500 metres (21,300 ft).[5] They contain 7080 glaciers covering an area of 10,700 square kilometres (4,100 sq mi).[4]
The Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains have an average latitude of 30°30'N and a longitude between 90°E and 97°E. Together with the Gangdise Shan located further west, it forms the Transhimalaya [a] which runs parallel to the Himalayas north of the Yarlung Tsangpo River.
The Drukla Chu river rises in the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, where it is called the Song Chu river, and joins the Gyamda Chu river. The combined rivers run about 100 kilometres (62 mi) southeast to the Yarlung Tsangpo river.
