This is the first train I've built so I know some things in the locomotive wouldn't be true to life but I think it looks good enough. I took a lot of inspiration from the recently released Hogwarts Express but I wanted to still have it be compatible with the regular tracks. I wanted to have the locomotion be functional but it's difficult to model digitally, so it might be part of a future physical project.
This is part of a bigger MOC I'll be uploading tomorrow. It has taken me roughly a month of work on and off to complete and this train was the final addition.
Shortly after sunrise on a warm April morning, United States Sugar's high-stepping Pacific #148 leads a short "Sugar Express" train around the north leg of the wye at Keela, Florida, just outside Clewiston, heading for the cane block. On this particular morning, the train was performing for a photo shoot organized by the railroad and attended by more than 40 photographers from all over the world.
Although normally lettered for United States Sugar Corporation, this particular event featured the locomotive lettered in the livery of her first owner, the Florida East Coast Railway. The locomotive worked the FEC from the time she was first delivered in 1920, until 1952, when she was sold to US Sugar, where she worked the cane fields for another decade. Today, the cane traffic is largely handled by diesel-electric locomotives and the 148 is the primary power on a new steam tourist operation called the "Sugar Express", which operates on a portion of the US Sugar Railroad, between Clewiston and Lake Placid, Florida.

Sinds kort heeft Lineas een aantal locs enkele logo's gegeven. Sommige locs hebben een Lineas logo op de neus, maar de 186 386 van Akiem heeft ook nog een klein logo met 'Lineas Clean loc'. Deze loc was erg vies, maar is nu gewassen en heeft dit logo gekregen.
Hier passeert de loc met een goed beladen Silesia-Xpress de Hulteneindsestraat in Hulten, onderweg richting Roosendaal en België

West Coast Railways are supplying the stock for a number of 'Polar Express' Charters around the country run by PNP Events. The London one is running between London Euston and Wembley Yard over various days and weekends up to Christmas. Wembley Yard being a very odd destination for any kind of Charter let alone a 'Polar Express'! Standard 5 44871, slapped with 'Polar Express' stickers all over it and adorned with a headlight and headboard, is the power with a WCR Class 47 on the rear. The train runs about 5 times a day back and forth up and down the WCML.
So seeking the advantage of some morning sun before Storm Darragh rolled in for the weekend, the Mrs and I joined one other photographer on the road bridge outside Willesden Junction for the trains second run of the day. It's approach was marked by a healthy amount of steam and some lovely sounds all the way from Wembley Yard. When it came into view under the OHLE I snapped once and just as I was about to snap twice for the main shot, a London Midland EMU swept past going the other way destroying the view! I hung on for an hour and half in the cold for it's next run but by that time a haze was coming over, the light was going and everyone of my shots was a little out of focus... so this was the best I got of the morning.

A night photo of a most unusual sleeper coach bus with two rows of windows where the passengers slept. I believe that this is an extremely rare breadbox style 1930 Nite Coach, some of which were purchased by the Pacific Greyhound Line. I lit the interior of the bus with warm white light using a handheld ProtoMachines LED2 light painting device. This may appear in my second book of night photography that I am working on now.
