It feels good to start anew, getting a clean slate. The 5d Mii has given me this rebirth.
First impressions? Good.
More? It has nice weight to it, feels really good in my hands. The XTi was nice, especially with the additional battery grip, but now I really have something solid to hold onto. The video is spectacular (at least once you have a capable memory card with a fast enough write speed). Live view is nice, probably does a number on the battery, but I haven't had enough time to feel out that duration. What really took me was the upgrade to full-frame sensor. I didn't completely notice it at first, but there's this indescribable feel to looking through the viewfinder. It's like it makes reality a little clearer. Hyperreal.
Now I need to go work out the subtleties, but that may take some time. Also, it must be customized. Like the Z Finder (fancy viewfinder that stabilizes video shooting), or the battery grip, or maybe a couple lenses. But these are far from my present, I'm double-broke after this base investment.
Here's my first attempt in a little light graffiti. If you notice right behind the subject (which is my wife ^_^ ), my feet were captured a couple of times. (I'm such an amateur =P ). The light used was a cheap flash light that had an extra click that turned on a laser. You might notice the rogue red lines.

It's rare for me to have a chance to explore the exposed sea floor, thus I took my time to look over what was there. It's so cool to see the variety of plants that occupy the bottom of the sea by the shore. Very cool stuff indeed :D
