A few hummingbirds are still hanging around, which was a surprise to me. I checked out Google and found out that a type called Anna's will stay around all winter if you keep them fed. So I have my trusty feeders full and will keep a couple extras in the house to trade out if they freeze. They are fighting like crazy and it seems there is one bully in the crowd that chases them all off. This is the baby one of the group, and I don't see him getting a sip in very often, so I have decided to hang a few feeders in the front of the house to maybe draw part of the crowd up front so nobody starves.

Hussain Sagar (Telugu: హుస్సేన్ సాగర్) (Urdu: حسين ساغر) is a lake in Hyderabad, India, built by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali in 1562, during the rule of Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah. It was a lake of 24 square kilometres built on a tributary of the River Musi to meet the water and irrigation needs of the city. There is a large monolithic statue of the Gautam Buddha in the middle of the lake which was erected in 1992. In the end of the Hussain Sagar one can find the Masjid and Dargah of Sayed Maa.
Built in the 16th century the lake was named to express the gratitude of Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah to Hussain Shah Wali who helped him to recover from illness. It is a sprawling artificial lake that holds water perennially, built during the reign of Ibrahim Qutub Shah, across a tributary of the river Musi in 1562. Linking the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, the lake and its environs have several parks and scenic spots. The broad road on the tank bund is lined with lawns. The well laid out Lumbini park located in the Buddha Purnima project has a musical fountain.
An 18-meter high monolithic statue of Lord Buddha towers over the lake from atop the Rock of Gibraltar. The idea of erecting a giant monolith Buddha statue in the midst of Hussain Sagar lake on the Gibraltar rock was a part of the Buddha Poornima project in 1985. The statue was chiseled out of a white granite rock, weighting 450 tons. It was carved by 200 sculptors for two years. The statue was transported to Hyderabad in November 1988. After initial problems, the statue was erected on 12 April 1992 on a red lotus pedestal. Attached to it, Lumbini park was inaugurated with musical fountains, bonsai plants and a boat ride from Lumbini Park to the statue. The whole atmosphere reflects peace and perseverance.

Gautama Buddha or Siddhārtha Gautama Buddha (Sanskrit: सिद्धार्थ गौतम बुद्ध; Pali: Siddhattha Gotama) was a spiritual teacher from the Indian subcontinent, on whose teachings Buddhism was founded. The word Buddha is a title for the first awakened being in an era. In most Buddhist traditions, Siddhartha Gautama is regarded as the Supreme Buddha (P. sammāsambuddha, S. samyaksaṃbuddha) of our age, "Buddha" meaning "awakened one" or "the enlightened one." Gautama Buddha may also be referred to as Śākyamuni (Sanskrit: शाक्यमुनि "Sage of the Śākyas"). The Buddha found a Middle Way that ameliorated the extreme asceticism found in the Sramana religions.
The time of Gautama's birth and death are uncertain: most early 20th-century historians dated his lifetime as c. 563 BCE to 483 BCE, but more recent opinion dates his death to between 486 and 483 BCE or, according to some, between 411 and 400 BCE. UNESCO lists Lumbini, Nepal, as a world heritage site and birthplace of Gautama Buddha. There are also claims about birth place of Gautama Buddha to be Kapileswara, Orissa or Kapilavastu at Piprahwa, Uttar Pradesh He later taught throughout regions of eastern India such as Magadha and Kośala.
Gautama is the primary figure in Buddhism, and accounts of his life, discourses, and monastic rules are believed by Buddhists to have been summarized after his death and memorized by his followers. Various collections of teachings attributed to him were passed down by oral tradition, and first committed to writing about 400 years later.

Today was a day of house cleaning, file organizing, laundry doing, and random editing for some of my recent clients.
This was not client work, just a shot from memorial day when I went to a BBQ at my good friend Joey Ambrose's house. This is his beautiful pup "Dakota" and yes her tongue always goes to that side!

Hi friends, please pray for Levi, my grandson. He had very bad asthma today and turned blue. The ambulance, 5 paramedics, and 5 police caars came today.....I'm thankful for the county I live it, they responded quickly and he was breathing better. His mom has him at the doctor right now. The pollen is really making him sick.
Thank you for your prayers!
I shot this this morning when he was feeling well. I loved the light on his back....I never intended to upload this one but it seemed a good way to request prayer!
Outside my window. Also known as "Peanut Butter Bush", as leaves when rubbed between your fingers smell like peanut butter.

I have passed by these classic red stools outside "D's Diner" for over two years now, always meaning to stop. Well, I finally did. This is one of those great old diners that just screams the 50's. Can't you just picture the girls in their pink poodle skirts and angora sweaters, perched on these stools, sipping malteds?
THIS is Americana at it's finest.
Long live the diner.

This is an old photo from 2006. Four families including us went to visit the Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, USA. My son, still small at that time, was exploring the Morning Glory Pool, a natural hot spring. Bacteria live in the water, which gives the pool its distinct colors.
I took this photo with a point and shoot Sony camera. I now HDR-processed it to give it a smooth look while enhancing the micro-contrast. The colors are pretty accurate, that is, no change in color saturation compared to the original.

Pigs do fly!!!
We have just had a massive storm that lasted well over an hour and it was amazing with almost constant sheet and fork lightning.
Knew I wasn't going to get decent photos with a point and shoot but thought I would give it a try.
Have no idea how these images have been formed but I have managed to capture quite a few in different forms.
Well they were taken on Halloween!!!
Oinked their way into Explore #262 30th October. Which is interesting as I took this after midnight on Halloween but because of the time difference it actually appeared in Explore the day before I actually took this!!!!
