We we're taking the children over to the building for daycare this morning and when I got ready to leave I started yelling come look at this! One of my parents made tire track hearts some how in the snow. I was so amazed and it may never happen again so I wanted to share it and its to cold here to get bug pictures now! LOL

an out-take from some time in the last year. I have no idea who this is. I've explored and shot photos with many cool people in the last few years. Normally when processing and clearing out files one might say " WTF is this person doing in my shot?"...and just delete... But not today. I actually liked the sense of solitude and walking into the void
What an odd thing to do. Wandering into abandoned buildings and taking photos. Smelling mold and decay, Hazards everywhere. At face value, it's a really stupid thing to do. Not exactly safe, even if we do try to be as safe as we can. People have and will continue to get injured and killed doing this. Not exactly legal either, as many have learned the hard way.
But there is a draw that I cannot describe with words. A feeling unlike anything I've ever experienced. Breaking the barrier from outside, to inside. Turning a corner and facing the prospect of a long hallway and not knowing if you are alone. Feeling the presence of the factory workers that walked these hallways a century ago. The pride that still remains in these abandoned structures that built the American dream. The rush is incredible. Those who know what I am talking about get it. Those that don't get it will never get it.
How much is enough? I have no idea. Last year crawling 100 yards through a frozen tunnel on a disintegrating conveyor belt while busting into an abandoned warehouse, I thought to myself, what the Hell are you doing man? At the same time I thought, Wow, this is awesome. What a thrill. I love this. It's part of who I am now.
and so here, the urban explorer. Saddled with gear. Walking into the black. An adventure inadvertently captured in mid sentence.

My friend Michael Naimark is exploring new ideas for virtual reality experiences, in collaboration with Google and other researchers. To discuss this work, we got together with two other colleagues, Steve Gano and Jim McKee -- with whom we worked at the Apple Multimedia Lab in the eighties, pushing the envelope on related questions.
We started with a tour of the historic Sentinel Building in North Beach, home of American Zoetrope -- where Francis Coppola worked on many cinematic masterpieces like The Godfather and Apocalypse Now. We checked out the underground screening room and sound mixing room where some of that work took place, then headed upstairs to Michael and Jim’s studios, for a wonderful conversation about the new VR frontier.
Michael and his colleagues are researching how people are represented in virtual reality. Their first experiment at Google’s “Big Chairs” Park led to some helpful guidelines on how to film people for VR, by using different camera angles and distances.
They’re also investigating ‘hyper-images’ that resemble a group of people, but that are shot at different times and composited together to create both ‘credible’ and ‘incredible’ pictures. To enable more experiments like these, Michael is developing ‘IMU VR’, a new type of camera that could make it easier for communities to tell their stories in VR. More on this later.
It was great to reconnect with my colleagues and brainstorm these ideas together. It felt like the good old days, and the creative juices were flowing all over again ...

Thanks so much for my fourteenth EXPLORE! May 3, Highest #131
This shot was taken on the same day as Reaching (my last upload). This fence is located on a lane going to a Heritage Farm just a mile from us (which is a little tourist attraction), it was such a gorgeous day and the leaves of the trees were littered all along the fence, caught up in the wind. My first instinct was to pull out my Macro Lens (it always is as I adore it), however I pushed against this and went for my new Canon EF 50mm ƒ/1.4 lens. I cannot put into words how much I love this bokeh magnet! HFF!
Undertaking this Project 52 has been one of the best things I've ever done. It's helping me grow, learn and develop as a photographer and I'm excited to see what each day brings...

I'd like to apologize about how bright it is in the back,
and if your eyes are bleeding again I'm very sorry.
SO hahaha sorry but today I was falling in my bathroom and I grabbed on to the towel rack and pulled one side of it out of the wall... haha, I mean really now... it's like when I'm trying to save myself from dying I break something else,
my mom was like "WHY IS THIS FUNNY TO YOU?! I CAN'T FIX THIS."
Oh goodness.
OH and I have something on my sensor,
so when my dad comes home I gotta get that off,
I'm too afraid to do it myself,
and Regina Spektor's new CD is so amazing,
my friend told me about it and thank goodness she did because I've been listening to it non-stop.

Thanks so much for my eighth EXPLORE! March 8, Highest #279
This is a Mascot II Exposure Meter from 1957, it was marketed specifically at Ladies (by General Electric) as they felt the original Mascot model (which came in Black) did not appeal to women. It sits neatly inside it's original leather case, comes with the instruction booklet and is in great working condition (it just needs a good dusting).
It came with the (1964) Voigtlander Vito CLR which I recently bought. My new addiction is Vintage Cameras, so be warned, you may be seeing some more vintage cameras and accessories!

Dallardaki ufacık tomurcuklar, göğe doğru uzanan sayısız kınalı parmak görüntüsündedir. Koca bir kış ayını uykuda kupkuru geçirmiş bir ağacın uyanmadaki sabırsızlığı insanı hayrete düşürür. Tomurcukların büyüyüşü öyle çabuk olur ki akşamdan sabaha kadar olan değişim bile inanılmazdır. Ta ki bir gün, içerisindeki o harikulâde hazinesini taşıyamaz boyuta gelene kadar büyür. Ancak doğum bu süreçten de kısa bir sürede gerçekleşir ve bütün ağaç bir anda bembeyaz bir görüntüye bürünür. Tomurcuklardan habersiz biri, ağacın karla kaplandığı düşüncesine kapılabilir. Mısır patlakları gibi, sayısız, küçük beyaz çiçekler doğadaki nice doğumların çığlıksız, sessiz habercileri olarak dünyamıza teşrif etmişlerdir. Aslında bir güzel doğum sandığımız bu çiçekler bizlerin fark edemediği başka güzelliklere de gebedir. Tomurcuklu dallardaki ürkeklik yerini albenili bir şımarıklığa bırakırken, fısıltı halindeki sözler, gür bir orkestranın melodilerine dönüşmüştür artık.
Minik çiçekler, dalların parlayan, göz alıcı taçlarıdır. Bu görüntüye etraflarına saldıkları davetkar, enfes kokuları da eşlik eder. Belki, dallar ilkbahar rüzgarının ılık dokunuşlarıyla oyana, buyana salınıp güzel kokular salarken, uzun kış mevsimi boyunca ki kurumuşluğundan uyanmanın şenliğini yapmaktadır. Ağacı seyredenlere ise eşsiz bir seremoni izlettirmektedirler.

- La llum no era gaire bona degut als núvols, peró al creuar el pont vaig veure que el reflexe al riu i, aquesta vegada sí, vaig baixar del cotxe per poder fer la foto des del pont. La llàstima és que no ha quedat gaire il.luminada, peró m´agrada com es reflexen la casa i l´arbre :-)
- La luz no era muy buena debido a las nubes, pero al cruzar el puente vi el reflejo en el rio y, esta vez sí, bajé del coche para hacer la foto desde el puente. La lástima es que no ha quedado bien iluminada, pero me gusta como se reflejan la casa y el árbol :-)

Sunrise Exploded with Crepuscular rays on this particular morning. As the Sun rose it was already 85 degrees and the temperature was rising. I was so happy to witness such a beautiful sunrise despite the heat and mosquito bites. I was taken aback in awe as i watched the light from the sun pierce through the clouds bathing the entire sky in light. Some say crepuscular rays are the manifestation of GOD himself, today i am a believer...... Enjoy

This shot revisits some of my personal favourites. The look down, the footprints in fresh snow and the snow covered bushes. The shadows are an additional bonus! Ive changed this to black and white by draining the colour. Not sure if there is a better way to do this change:)
