Dans l’histoire des technologies, il n’y a jamais eu un tel fossé entre ce qu’un logiciel est capable de produire et nos capacités cognitives de comprendre comment ça marche ...
Les autorités devraient s’emparer de l’IA, avec le monde académique, pour la mettre au service du bien public !
En effet, nous devons nous mettre à l’évidence … les capacités des réseaux neuronaux, comme ChatGPT, sont époustouflantes et échappent à notre compréhension !
Personne ne s’attendait à ce que l’IA évolue autant !
Ses concepteurs sont tellement bluffés qu’ils ont avancé cette équation : plus de puissance, plus de paramètres, plus de mots !
On va l’amener encore plus loin dans cette course effrénée à la complexification, parce que la complexification va donner encore plus d’intelligence … et dès lors, nous la comprendrons de moins en moins !!!
Je pense cependant qu’il y a une manière très positive de faire de l’IA mais l’explication tangible pour y arriver n’est pas encore vraiment au programme 🤔

Strange context of this image:
1. A sunny July day, not far (thirty meters) from a meadow full of wildflowers on a slope in the Pyrenees. This young woman chose to lie down with her dog on the scorching asphalt of a parking lot, right in front of a garage door that could open at any moment.
2. A man, in his sixties, who was mowing the grass in the meadow above, noticed the young woman. He spontaneously picked some wildflowers, made a bouquet, and went down to give it to her.
3. Perhaps disappointed by the brief exchange of words, the man eventually went back up to his meadow. The young woman continued to sunbathe on the asphalt for a while. She finally got up and left with her dog, not before throwing the bouquet of flowers behind her.
Any explanation would be appreciated.

Contexte étrange de cette image :
1. Soleil de juillet, non loin (trente mètres) d'une prairie fleurie sur une pente pyrénéenne. Cette jeune femme a préféré s'allonger avec son chien sur le bitume brûlant d'un parking, juste devant un portail de garage susceptible de s'ouvrir à tout moment.
2. Un homme, sexagénaire occupé à faucher la prairie en surplomb, a remarqué la jeune femme. Il a spontanément constitué un bouquet de fleurs sauvages, est descendu le lui remettre.
3. Peut-être déçu par les quelques mots échangés, l'homme a fini par remonter dans son pré. La jeune femme a prolongé un certain temps son bronzage sur asphalte. Elle a fini par se lever et quitter les lieux avec son chien, non sans avoir jeté le bouquet de fleurs derrière elle.
Toute explication est bienvenue.

Real Alpenglow on Mont Blanc.
After the sun diseapered behind the horison the mountains turned purple for a while showing this epic light.
Its hard to believe that on this picture, the mountains are not directly enlightened by the sun. The explication comes from a well known optical phenomenon.
The beautiful colorful light of an alpenglow is caused by the reflection of the light into water or ice particles that are low in the atmosphere. This is the biggest defining difference between an alpenglow and a regular sunrise or sunset.

Explication du process en français.
A panel explication for the 'toue' shelters of the Azun explains that they are characteristic of the mountain life of the valley from between the end of the 19th century and the very beginning of the 20th century - a period of 50 years?! In rural terms 50 years constitutes a fad. This official information panel implies that Shepherds had a fad for building cabines into appropriate erratics... this does not seem right to me. The rural way of thinking is practical, opportunist and deeply linked to the constraints and opportunities presented. Unlike limestone, granite is a devil to shape - especially if you are far from electricity. Mountain weather is nothing like city weather and if you are practically alone you need to find a solution as you guard your animals. The argument that man only started to exploit the summer mountain pastures in recent history also seems to be counter intuitive and people do not initiate ideas to coincide with early written records.

Je republie cette photo d'éclair car après m'être renseignée, j'ai découvert que seulement 10% des éclairs étaient de ce type : il s'agit d'une foudre ascendante qui part du sol et remonte vers le ciel. Je me souviens très bien d'ailleurs l'avoir remarqué et avoir été surprise. En général ces éclairs prennent une forme d'arbre.

I am reposting this photo of lightning because, after doing some research, I discovered that only 10% of lightning bolts are of this type: it is an upward lightning bolt that starts from the ground and rises toward the sky. I remember very well noticing it and being surprised. In general, these lightning bolts take the shape of a tree.

Today, Oct. 9, these people, including women and children, are still camping out on the sidewalks of the Rue de la Banque.

Le Roi des Aulnes (Erlkönig en allemand) est un poème de Johann Wolfgang von Goethe écrit en 1782. La créature évoquée dans le poème est un Erlkönig (roi des Aulnes), personnage représenté dans un certain nombre de poèmes et ballades allemandes comme une créature maléfique qui hante les forêts et entraîne les voyageurs dans la mort.
Par une nuit d'orage, un père chevauche, à travers une forêt sombre, avec son jeune fils dans ses bras. L'enfant croit voir dans l'obscurité la forme du roi des Aulnes et il est effrayé. Le père calme son fils : ce qu'il voit n'est que « le brouillard qui traîne ». Mais la figure fantomatique ne quitte pas l'enfant. Avec un discours persuasif, le roi des Aulnes invite le « gentil enfant » à venir dans son royaume pour se distraire avec ses filles. Mais l'enfant est agité. Encore une fois le père essaie de trouver une explication naturelle à ses hallucinations : ce ne serait que le bruissement des feuilles et le reflet d'arbres centenaires. Mais la vision est plus menaçante, et le fils est pris de panique. Lorsque le roi des Aulnes saisit l'enfant, le père perd son sang-froid et essaie de galoper aussi vite qu'il peut pour atteindre la ferme. Mais il y arrive trop tard : l'enfant est mort dans ses bras.

From June 23 to 29, 2009, hundreds of people gathered in Calais for the "No Border camp", aiming to highlight the realities of the situation in Calais and Northern France; to build links with the migrant communities; to help build links between migrants support groups ; and lastly, but not least, to challenge the authorities on the ground, to protest against increased repression of migrants and local activists alike. The week should culminate with a demonstration in Calais on Saturday 27.
Concerned with the potential violence and civil disobedience actions, and traumatized by the events in Strasbourg during the recent NATO summit, the authorities had deployed a massive security force: more than 2500 police officers, horses and dogs, water canons, helicopters, etc. All demonstrators were body searched, occupants of the camp were stopped for ID controls, and the local media warned the population of likely violence and vandalism.
In the end, only 2000 demonstrators showed up and marched peacefully, and while the authorities praised themselves for the deterrence effect of their security scheme, many inhabitants were left wondering whether this was really the best use of their taxes !

Kanyakumari (Inde) - kanyakumari est une petite ville sainte à l’extrême sud de la pointe de l' Inde. On n'est plus au Kerala et déjà dans le Tamil Nadu. Une partie des cendres de Gandhi a été dispersée ici, en mer. Une occasion supplémentaire pour les hindous d'entreprendre un pèlerinage.
Les guides (éditions 2017) annonçaient un trajet direct de Kovalam (Kerala) en bus local, estimé à deux heures trente. Finalement ça me prendra cinq heures avec deux changements.
Explication : la veille, un cyclone s'était abattu sur la région. Des milliers d’arbres déracinés, des toitures arrachées, des pans entiers de routes disparues. Et huit victimes... Et plus de 200 disparus en mer. Ça, je l’ai appris en lisant la presse locale le lendemain. Les pêcheurs se sont mis en grève pour que le gouvernement active les recherches. Mais aucun des pêcheurs disparus ne sera retrouvé sain et sauf.
En descendant du bus, la vie avait déjà repris son cours. Sur la route, les séquelles de la tempête étaient bien visibles à travers les fenêtres sans vitres du bus. Mais arrivé à Kanyakumari, on avait du mal à croire qu’une tornade était passée par là. Si ce n’est qu'il n’y avait plus d’électricité dans toute la ville. Mon hôtel étant équipé d’un groupe électrogène, je ne m'étais rendu compte de rien.

Kanyakumari (India) - kanyakumari is a small holy city in the extreme south of the tip of India. We are no longer in Kerala and already in Tamil Nadu. Some of Gandhi's ashes were scattered here at sea. An additional opportunity for Hindus to undertake a pilgrimage.
The guides (2017 editions) announced a direct trip from Kovalam (Kerala) by local bus, estimated at two and a half hours. Ultimately it will take me five hours with two changes.
Explanation: the day before a cyclone had hit the region. Thousands of uprooted trees, torn roofs, entire sections of roads gone. And eight victims in fine ... And more than 200 missing at sea. I learned that by reading the local press the next day. The fishermen went on strike for the government to activate research. But none of the missing fishermen will be found safe and sound.
By getting off the bus, life had already resumed its course. The aftermath of the storm was clearly visible through the windowless windows of the bus. But when we arrived in Kanyakumari, it was hard to believe that a tornado had passed that way. Except that there was no more electricity in the whole city. My hotel being equipped with a generator, I hadn't noticed a thing.
Je venais de découvrir que la visite de « Westminster Abbey » coutait 30 £ — et qu’il y était interdit de prendre des photos — quand, par curiosité, nous nous introduisîmes dans ce temple méthodiste, situé à proximité. Pas certain si les visites étaient permises, nous tombâmes sur un personnage, très accueillant, qui nous offrit une visite, avec descriptions et explications. Nous sautâmes sur l’occasion, ce qui me donna l’opportunité de faire plusieurs photos. Celle-ci, presque parfaitement symétrique, représente l’escalier principal de l’édifice.
I had just discovered that the visit of "Westminster Abbey" was costing £ 30 - and that it was forbidden to take pictures - when, out of curiosity, we entered in the Methodist church, located nearby. Not sure if the visits were allowed, we came upon a character, very friendly, who gave us a tour, with descriptions and explanations. We jumped at the opportunity, which gave me the opportunity to make several photos. This almost perfectly symmetrical one represents the main staircase of the building.

Concept: The 21th century ethos (if my arms are not being stretched too far calling the (post)modern egobehaviour that way) should be contingent: i.e. era dependant, fogged with that rational individualism occidentally self-declared as "envied of". But what happens with mundane Events, still parented with the mentioned ethos (at least that's what we think), but left defenseless to Casuality (which is, of course, the domain of Vitality, Nature, the Unspoken (as in "beyond the human"))? Does Reality beyond our eye (and mind) exist, and if it does (and it's uncontaminated), why do we keep pumping our synapses further into issues not in our reach (absolutely not)? Like accidents, for example.
Background: Unwordly phenomenons (accidents), ah, not ours, unrational, not structured, Events, ever foreign, "unexistant", right? They were never in the palm of our hand (even if more than frequently veiled with pseudorational religious (and scientific) explanations (and explications). But it's Casuality "playing" with our centripedal ego (the all-knowing God after God died by our rational weapons), seizing us (and not the other way around, Kantian child).
Manipulation info: Again a shot overlayered with a couple of textures (some made by myself with brushes). The sky is a collage of clouds, the lower portion with the breast a shot of an unknown model of mine (?;)) and the playground too an old shot from the mount Slavnik. The man being fired off (accident) was brushed in and motion blured.

La façade de Brissac est de style Louis XIII. Elle fut élevée au début du XVIIe siècle, mais elle est restée inachevée. Elle est encadrée par deux tours médiévales, qui sont les derniers vestiges d’un château plus ancien, construit au XVe siècle par Pierre de Brézé, ministre de Louis XI. Ce contraste, de style et d’époque, est tout à fait fortuit, en voici l’explication: Pendant les guerres de religion, les armées catholiques et protestantes se disputèrent le château, qui fut même assiégé un temps par Henri IV. Cette longue période de troubles laissa le château fortement endommagé et inhabitable, jusqu’en 1600 année qui marque le début de la reconstruction. Le premier duc de Brissac confia les travaux à son architecte Jacques Corbineau et ensemble, ils décidèrent d’élever un vaste château-palais en lieu et place de l’ancienne forteresse. Les ouvriers se mirent à l’œuvre en démolissant l’ancien édifice au fur et à mesure qu’ils construisaient le nouveau. Mais la mort du premier duc en 1621 a pour conséquence l’arrêt brutal et définitif du chantier qui ne sera jamais achevé par ses successeurs. Les deux tours vouées à la démolition subsistèrent, tandis que l’aile droite ne sera jamais construite et voilà pourquoi la porte d’entrée n’est pas au centre de la façade. Le grand-père de l’actuel propriétaire usait d’une formule pour résumer l’histoire de sa demeure, il disait : Brissac est « un château neuf à demi-construit dans un château vieux à demi-détruit ».
The facade of Brissac is Louis XIII style. It was raised at the beginning of the 17th century, but it remained unfinished.
