the French Embassy in Senegal and the Egaé Group, with the support of UN Women WCARO, have launched the online platform "Les Expertes Sénégal", accessible at: expertessenegal.com. It will list the profiles of hundreds of women researchers,
businesswomen, professionals, journalists and leaders of associations in Senegal, ready to intervene in the media.

Le lion (Panthera leo) est une espèce de mammifères carnivores de la famille des félidés. La femelle du lion est la lionne, son petit est le lionceau. Le mâle adulte, aisément reconnaissable à son importante crinière, accuse une masse moyenne qui peut être variable selon les zones géographiques où il se trouve, allant de 180 kg pour les lions de Kruger à 230 kg pour les lions de Transvaal. Certains spécimens très rares peuvent dépasser exceptionnellement 250 kg. Un mâle adulte se nourrit de 7 kg de viande chaque jour contre 5 kg chez la femelle. Le lion est un animal grégaire, c'est-à-dire qu'il vit en larges groupes familiaux, contrairement aux autres félins. Son espérance de vie, à l'état sauvage, est comprise entre 7 et 12 ans pour le mâle et 14 à 20 ans pour la femelle, mais il dépasse fréquemment les 30 ans en captivité.
Le lion mâle ne chasse qu'occasionnellement, il est chargé de combattre les intrusions sur le territoire et les menaces contre la troupe. Le lion rugit. Il n'existe actuellement à l'état sauvage plus que 16 500 à 30 000 individus dans la savane africaine, répartis en une dizaine de sous-espèces et environ 300 au parc national de Gir Forest dans le nord-ouest de l'Inde. Il est surnommé « le roi des animaux » car sa crinière lui donne un aspect semblable au Soleil, qui apparaît comme « le roi des astres ».
The lion (Panthera leo) is one of the five big cats in the genus Panthera and a member of the family Felidae. The commonly used term African lion collectively denotes the several subspecies found in Africa. With some males exceeding 250 kg (550 lb) in weight, it is the second-largest living cat after the tiger. Wild lions currently exist in sub-Saharan Africa and in Asia (where an endangered remnant population resides in Gir Forest National Park in India) while other types of lions have disappeared from North Africa and Southwest Asia in historic times. Until the late Pleistocene, about 10,000 years ago, the lion was the most widespread large land mammal after humans. They were found in most of Africa, across Eurasia from western Europe to India, and in the Americas from the Yukon to Peru. The lion is a vulnerable species, having seen a major population decline in its African range of 30–50% per two decades during the second half of the 20th century. Lion populations are untenable outside designated reserves and national parks. Although the cause of the decline is not fully understood, habitat loss and conflicts with humans are currently the greatest causes of concern. Within Africa, the West African lion population is particularly endangered.
Lions live for 10–14 years in the wild, although in captivity they can live more than 20 years. In the wild, males seldom live longer than 10 years, as injuries sustained from continual fighting with rival males greatly reduce their longevity. They typically inhabit savanna and grassland, although they may take to bush and forest. Lions are unusually social compared to other cats. A pride of lions consists of related females and offspring and a small number of adult males. Groups of female lions typically hunt together, preying mostly on large ungulates. Lions are apex and keystone predators, although they are also expert scavengers obtaining over 50 percent of their food by scavenging as opportunity allows. While lions do not typically hunt humans, some have been known to do so. Sleeping mainly during the day, lions are primarily nocturnal, although bordering on crepuscular in nature.
Highly distinctive, the male lion is easily recognised by its mane, and its face is one of the most widely recognised animal symbols in human culture. Depictions have existed from the Upper Paleolithic period, with carvings and paintings from the Lascaux and Chauvet Caves, through virtually all ancient and medieval cultures where they once occurred. It has been extensively depicted in sculptures, in paintings, on national flags, and in contemporary films and literature. Lions have been kept in menageries since the time of the Roman Empire, and have been a key species sought for exhibition in zoos over the world since the late eighteenth century. Zoos are cooperating worldwide in breeding programs for the endangered Asiatic subspecies.
Linvilla Orchards 2013 Expert Fishing Derby was held on Saturday, March 23 on Linvilla's Orchard Lake. It was a great day for everyone and all the participants had fun in this year's derby. Ronnie Cornell of Aston PA hooked the big one, weighing in at 9.92 lbs! Ronnie's extremely large Rainbow Trout won him a $250 cash prize! Eight other lucky fishermen and women were able to reel in trout weighing over 8 pounds.

Spectating at Church Fields, home to Whiston Parish Church Cricket Club. Captured during a fourth-versus-third clash with Houghton Main in the Championship Division of the South Yorkshire League. Whiston won by 82 runs to leapfrog their Barnsley-based visitors, who dropped to sixth in the top tier's table.
Electing to bat, Whiston set off at a furious pace. They were 154-2 at drinks and 201 when, in the 34th over, their third wicket fell. Gareth Davis (74), Danny Kemp (65) and James Martin (25) led the assault. Unaccountably, and to the obvious frustration of their fans, Whiston then collapsed, losing their last seven wickets for the addition of just 69 runs, failing to complete their allocation of overs. Spinner Imran Khan (4-82) and pacer James Exley (3-38) spearheaded the mopping up exercise. Slipshod wicketkeeper Simon Ward, later out for a duck to complete an unhappy afternoon, played a big part in 36 extras swelling Whiston's total.
Spinner Ali Manzoor (5-55) and pacer Sam Taylor (4-25) finished the job the Whiston upper order had started. Nobody in the Houghton Main line-up hung around long enough to make a telling score. Openers Alex Porter (43) and Ian Simon (23) put on 58 for the first wicket. Thereafter, only Khan (24), who figured with Jake Hardcastle (12) in an entertaining seventh-wicket stand worth 37, raised any hope of an away win.

The proportions on this one are the key. It's intentionally distorted. Oh yeah, and the arms and his missing nose (executive decision to toss that out, but I like the void feel of the face now.
