Time for the morning news with President Business!

Would look great paired with 10187 VW Beetle and I think the scale looks accurate!

One of the limited number of Lego Hobby Sets released in 1976 was set Nr. 395. This model was a 1909 Rolls-Royce. It joined two other classic/vintage cars in the range which had been launched in 1975, a 1913 Cadillac (Nr. 390) and a 1926 Renault (Nr. 391).

The set included 281 parts and was considered to be an expert build.

This recreation has been modelled in Lego Digital Designer for Flickr LUGNuts 60th Build Challenge, our 5th Birthday, to the 53th Build Challenge - "LEGO Set Overhaulin" - celebrating all things Lego with recreations of older sets.

This recreation includes new functions of lego piston engine with rear drive, steering, opening bonnet (hood) and doors.

I have always considered the original Lego Nr. 395 to be too narrow through the interior. This was required to enable a wide side step and transition from the narrow engine cover. This has been overcome in this recreation by using a more open seat design.

The model shares the same base chassis dimensions and overall size as the original Nr. 395.

"That President Business, what a great guy! Wait? Did he just say you'll be put to SLEEP?!""

I dug a bunch of old comics out of storage to show my daughter and I noticed this ad on the back cover of one. This was my favorite set that year and it was my one big Xmas gift. For you youngsters -- this was Technic before there was Technic.

Another Lego ad from a back cover of an old comic book. This is from the third year that Expert Builder was out. It was renamed Technic in 1984.

Our camera died, so all I have is the phone camera, but I had to post what I found at the local nick nack store...
