Used vignette to try and emphasize the open sky in the middle to make it look more centered to where the person is standing . Cant remember the camera settings on this one .

A different experience in every season: Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens are exquisite, tranquil and inspiring all year round. Different footpaths, cycle routes and horse trails will lead you – with or without the aid of a forest ranger – through the beauty of one of the Netherlands' most unique areas of nature. There are no less than 80 fens in this stunning green expanse – pretty impressive, right?
Four seasons
Whether it’s the frozen fairy-tale fens of the winter, the dynamics of nature coming to life in spring, the musical croaking of frogs in the summer, or the explosion of colours in the autumn: Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens are a feast for all the senses.
Spot kingfishers, deer and roe deer, or bear witness to the wide variety of insects and water creatures in the fens and ditches. And after an exhilarating day of activity or sport, head to one of the large terraces to enjoy the peace and quiet and a tasty snack, lunch or dinner.Oisterwijk's Forests & Fens Groot Speijck Visitor Centre has a great terrace, as does Boshuis Venkraai. And both are ideal places to relax and soak up the surroundings.
I love this clump of trees, I've photographed it a few times but never managed to get it in its entirity from this angle capturing the crazy angle of growth. This is a six image stitch with some fills as had to duplicate some sky to fill in the blanks to make rectangular image. Taken on Whiteleaf Cross, Buckinghamshire.

the entire expanse is transitory.”

Sometimes when you're out at night it's hard to tell what could happen. Everything could go dark at any moment, the fog could roll in, change can happen rapidly. Fortunately for me that didn't happen this night. The fog couldn't have been more forgiving and put on quite a show for a few days. It's hard to fully understand how awesome it is until your out above it watching the world melt away into mist below. A special treat.
The quality of pictures in this short set is not quite up to my usual standard as I relied on my mobile phone for them. The expanse of paddy fields is quite extensive in Ubud
Da wo ich lebe, sind solche Anblicke nicht selten. Doch wird man ihrer nie überdrüssig.
Even if you've seen it a thousand times, it's always beautiful.

View of Pangong Tso Lake , encompassing the expanse of water with the mountains and the sky in the back ground. Pangong is a large water body in the Ladakh region of India situated at an altitude of about 5000meters.
This amazing rock formation has a story behind it which I will post a link to the wiki. Our airbnb hostess gave us permission to go see this beautiful, incredible formation because usually you must be with a tribal member to visit this reverent site. I asked about photogrpahing and was also given permission. If you know where this is, please do not just go there. Get permission from the tribe and don't litter or try to climb this magnificent monument. Climbing has been banned since 1970 when there was a fatality. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiprock
To the right, the Shafer Canyon Road winds it's way down from Islands In The Sky, before branching off to Potash Road, making it's way to Gooseneck Overlook, above the Colorado River.
I like to wander of the vast expanses of exposed rock at low tide, here, not only to explore the rockpools and their inhabitants, but to see the array of geometric patterns and shapes in the weathered rocks.
The Harthope valley looking towards the coast from the upper slopes of Hedgehope Hill (2343ft/714m); after The Cheviot the second highest point in Northumberland.
This was a morning visit with Teazel (it's just 40mins drive from home) & the next test of the knee since the last 900ft of up is a very steep grassy/heathery slope, meaning that the first 900ft of down would be a major test. Thankfully the ground was dry & the knee came through with no mishaps!!
The tiny speck just below the horizon on the far right edge of shot is Holy Island/Lindisfarne castle.

Some of the 'Warkworth Walkers' walking group as we head back to Hethpool after a glorious day hiking in north Northumberland. The line of hills forming the skyline centre right are Newton Tors (which would be the destination for another walk a few weeks after this one).
One more challenge faced some of the group - Great Hetha which sits above Hethpool - those wishing an easier end to the day would skirt this along the floor of College Valley,
