I have been missing the spring time flowers during the cold short winter days. So I created an unusual arrangement of two species. The extreme depth of field is do to focus stacking 147 images together.

I got the idea for this figure by looking at this picture, img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130330041142/destinypedia/i.... I was intrigued by the one, second to the end on the right. I made more than half of the figure, but then I stopped working on it, and gradually lost the inspiration. I might continue this figure, but for now I'm putting it on hold. That's about it, thanks for looking! :)

Ended up creating about 40-50 images and I will share many of them here.

This is an amazing variety of amaryllis called Exotic Peacock. If you ever find this variety, get it! It is in a class by itself.

¿Qué es el mezcal con gusano?
En la cultura de los licores cada destilado cuenta con su propio estilo como lo tiene el tequila con su molienda, cocción, fermentación, destilación, maduración, filtración, dilución y envasado, pero en el caso del mezcal su estilo es peculiar por tener un mezcal con gusano.
Pero así como se le agrega ese peculiar animal, también la tradición marca que este licor de agave puede venir con plantas medicinales, fruta “digestivas” o alacranes y víboras como potentes “afrodisíacos”.

A lot of these ring-necked parakeets around here. They live in large groups in winter time and terrorize the forest. The woodpeckers have be driven out of their nests here and the parakeets have taken over their homes.
This is one of those ring-necked parakeets that have claimed a woodpeckers' nest in the tree trunk on the right.
For the lensflare I removed the lenshood and kept the sun just out of view, used a fill flash to lower the shadows. No crop...

This is Kala Namak, or Himalayan black salt. It is an unrefined, volcanic rock salt (Halite) with a sulfur-like aroma, similar to the smell of hard-boiled eggs. This salt owes its unique taste – a hint of bitterness – to the presence of Sulphur.
We were given a small vial of it (the labeled bottle in the background) by a friend who vacationed in Spain (thus the Spanish spelling of the word Salt… Sal).
