R-Evolution
Marco Cochrane
Constructed of steel rod and balls and covered in stainless steel mesh, with LED lighting effects, R-Evolution is a 48 foot tall sculpture of a woman, Deja Solis, standing firmly with both feet on the ground, eyes closed, arms open at her sides, palms forward, a peaceful expression- present.
The culmination of The Bliss Project, a series of three monumental sculptures of a woman, Deja Solis, expressing her humanity, R-Evolution like Bliss Dance and Truth is Beauty, is intended to demand a change in perspective… to be a catalyst for social change. She is intended to challenge the viewer to see past the sexual charge that has developed around the female body which has been used for power and control, to the human being. We hope to inspire men and women to take action to end violence against women, making room for women’s voices, thus allowing both women and men to live fully and thrive.
My lyrics:
Saw this cactus heart on the Galapagos
That summed it up for me
Darwin hatched here his theory of evolution
But devolution becoming our destiny
I photographed Kilimanjaro when it still had snow
Al Gore was onto it
Just malaria tablets and my camera to rely on
Now that snow is spent
Only Swahilis wept
If Hell hath no fury
like a woman scorned
then Nature is a lady
whose fixing for a storm
Coz the cactus heart is Nature's warning
humanity is gonna pay
for trashing nature's riches
with our greedy ways
So trade in our carbon-spewing heap
for an electric car
no botted water please
stop using coal, go solar
Protecting the Amazon a priority
Closer to home plant more trees
Think of our kids instead of showing off
Our useless displays of wealth
from evolution to devolution
talking about Eden's fall
soon too late for a revolution
our backs against the wall

I don't believe in the evolution of people from monkeys. I think that God in His infinite wisdom had the power and grace to make man the way that he is today. I do believe that evolution exists in how we have evolved as people. We have learned to use our talents for technology and learning and have made great advances the world over. That being said...I am still submitting this picture for my evolution picture for MSH 0907. Even though we have evolved by whatever means that you believe in; the basic need is still evident, even in the animals.
We all need Love and Kindness. Let's hope that is a need that never evolves to a point of extinction.

Macroglossum nycteris, known as the Hummingbird Hawk-moth, is a species of Sphingidae. Its long proboscis and its hovering behaviour, accompanied by an audible humming noise, make it look remarkably like a hummingbird while feeding on flowers. It shouldn't be confused with the moths called hummingbird moths in North America, genus Hemaris, members of the same family and with similar appearance and behavior. The resemblance to hummingbirds is an example of convergent evolution.

Evolution - Let there be Light. Dance into the Future en daarna Evolution - Let there be Light. Thx. Radio 538 voor de uitstekende organisatie. Hopelijk krijgt dit initiatief een vervolg volgend jaar.
