My dad, sister and brother in law were picking blueberries the other day. I had a friend here for the weekend and didn't participate, which I started to regret when they brought all these lovely things home.

I took some shots of them and posted them on my blog, saying longingly that I wanted some blueberries in my freezer too for the long cold winter. Just a few minutes later I got a comment from my honey (who's about 450 miles away) that we could pick some on saturday when I'm finally back home. That's modern love for you :)

It's going to be so wonderful to be back home after 6,5 weeks apart and only being able to see each other on weekends and a few more days...

ps. I so don't love the flickr sharpening... they were a lot more dreamy-looking in my computer...

There’s a first time for everything—even meeting yourself.

In this moment, the world paused as he locked eyes with the only other baby in the room… his reflection. Was it curiosity? Confusion? A silent challenge?

Captured during bath time, this split-second stare was pure magic—unfiltered, unscripted, unforgettable.

Shot in natural light, enhanced in black and white to focus on form, contrast, and connection.

Yesterday we finally put up the christmas tree and all the glitter and ornaments. We have "inherited" some old ones from grandparents and I just love them. It feels so special to hang an old and delicate ornament that has been in the family for a long time in the christmas tree.

Made #92 on explore, yay! :)

A heap of gift ribbon from some christmas presents. My thesis is that anything looks good when shot with a wide aperture so as to create lots of bokeh :)

HBW everyone!

A good way to start the year 😍

I liked the blue and green tones here, it's just too bad that the camera was set to automatic ISO and as it was a bit dark in the little forrest behind our house it chose ISO 800 so there's a lot of noise here which bugs me. Not only does flickr sharpen images in a really ugly way that enhances all the noise, it also took away lots of the colour here... how annoying! Now it mainly looks ok in the smaller version... oh well, you'll just have to squint a bit when you're looking at it :)

update: played around a bit to make the background less noisy, I love PS :)

I'm working like crazy on my essay and it's going kind of good, even though there's still a lot of work left. But I had to take a little break and do some editing, these are some christmas shots that I hadn't yet done anything with :)

Ulysses leans into the moment with that unmistakable mix of dignity and indulgence only a cat can pull off. His eyes half-close, his whiskers soften forward, and his whole posture shifts into that relaxed, surrendered mode that says the brushing session has officially crossed from “acceptable” into “deeply appreciated.” The soft natural light from the room wraps around him, highlighting the texture of his fur and the subtle markings across his face. There’s a quiet calm here, the kind that settles into a house when a cat feels completely safe.

His front paws rest lightly on the cushion, perfectly balanced yet unhurried. The purple brush tucked beside his cheek adds a tiny pop of color to an otherwise warm, earthy palette. This frame captures the everyday ritual that makes living with animals so grounding: these small, reassuring gestures that become part of the rhythm of a home. You can almost hear the faint rumble of a purr beginning to rise, the kind that starts in the chest before it becomes audible.

Ulysses carries himself with his usual gentle confidence, and this portrait preserves that softness—a quiet, affectionate moment of connection between a cat and his human.

The old, enormous pine tree in front of the summer cottage looks pretty impressive from beneath.

This is another old photo, this time from New Years Eve 1999, a.k.a. the millennium. It was -30C (-24F) and me and a friend had decided to celebrate it in our summer cottage which has no heating, no water and only an outhouse toilet. Needless to say it was cold, but also very beautiful. During the night we had to go up in shifts to put more wood on the fire, which wasn't very festive. And we decided to just ignore it, which resulted in frosty temperatures inside. In the end it was two cold teenagers that were picked up the next day :)

This week I must complete the moving process by cleaning my now ghostly ex-apartment. There are some crucial things missing from the move which I hope will turn up once everything is unpacked!

I hope the week is going well for everybody and thanks for the visit!

Oh my gosh, I've been the worst flickr-ite lately! My life has been so busy, and I've been so preoccupied, that I have barely had the time nor the inclination to pick up my camera.

Mostly it's the love thing that's taking a lot of time, so you don't have to feel a bit sorry for me :) I'm very happy with my wonderful boyfriend Martin, and we're actually celebrating our 6 week anniversary today :) It feels more like 6 months though, because it's just so fabulous :) However, I haven't forgotten about my camera and I'll have more time and opportunities to use it when things calm down a bit :)

Now about the photo, I took this during a little walk in my dad's neighborhood last week. I discovered this little forrest that I've actually never seen before and the evening light was so magical.

Made explore, yay :)

drink tea in times of trouble...

This was a tiny picture I found in a magazine which I printed bigger because its just so beautiful...

Wrapped in sound, the outside world melts away.

The sun is shining! We're almost halfway to Spring! It's a beautiful day to be alive! What wonderful magic will you create today?

I have taken several photos of this old Tobacco kiosk over the years, but now I saw in smosch's photostream that they have taken the signs down. How very sad!

Day three in paradise, and Anjelika finally lets the island rhythm take hold. Standing quietly in the shallows, she watches the horizon soften—no rush, no noise, just the gentle hush of the Pacific. This moment isn’t staged; it’s the kind of stillness that only comes when the world slows down and you remember how to breathe. Hawaii has a way of doing that.

In the first light of the day, a Christmas star meets the sun — a quiet reminder that light always arrives gently.
