Mount Everest, Tibet / Nepal
This is me standing on the top of the world at around 7am in the morning on 26 May 2011. Exactly five years ago today and very happy memories.
Galanthus elwesii 'Mount Everest' in the evening sun. Stunning white flowers of this snowdrop variety catching up last sunrays. Taken in the garden. Bath, England, UK.
Thank you for your visit, comments and favours, very much appreciated.

Mt. Everest is built entirely from recycled pixels excavated from the Grand Canyon. The Highest High you'll ever get /*Windlight Sky @ 0m to 4096m: "default" Sky @ 400m to 450m: "Coastal Sunset" Sky @ 450m to 600m: "Midnight"*/
From Airplane flyby. I had my Hasselblad 500 CM and got this shot. I finally had my negatives professionally scanned so this is a better version of one I uploaded some time ago that I'd scanned from a photo.
Everest, known as Sagarmāthā in Nepal and Chomolungma in Tibet had snow blowing off the peak on a really clear morning. A nice view of Lhotse and Nuptse on the right.
A morning breaks free in the Eastern Himalayas in the state of West Bengal India at a place called Sandakphu at approximately 12000 odd feet.....the unique landscape and the enchanting views negotiated here makes for special moments in life. It is one of those place on earth from where four of the eight highest peaks on earth can be visualized including Mt Everest.

"It's the cure, it's a poison, I don't have a choice in
The silent defiance that I find my voice in
'Cause I have decided to just keep going
It's the rush, it's the feeling that keeps me believing
That I have the strength when I don't have a reason
To fight is my vice when I don't have the right
To just keep going."

Rongbuk Monastery lies near the base of the north side of Mount Everest at 5,009 metres (16,434 ft) above sea level, at the end of the Dzakar Chu valley. Rongbuk is claimed to be the highest-elevation monastery in the world.
However, the true highest monastery in the world is Drirapuk Monastery in Ngari Prefecture, at an altitude of 5,072 metres (16,640 ft).

This is a panorama of two shots taken with my Nikon D200 with a Sigma 100-300 F4. Shot on 10/Nov/2007. Been reworked now and looks better for it.
You can get the view of the great mt. everest, Mt. lhotse, Mt. Nuptse and many other beautiful Himlayas from this view point.
stunning reflection of Everest shown on my trekking path to Everest Base Camp. Having a wonderful experience seeing the surreal of mother Earth.
For today I have another photograph from my 2014 trip to Khumbu region in #Nepal. An impressive view of Lhotse and the Everest on the left, protruding above the ridge.
Ever thought of standing and breathing in front of the top of the world. Well the path is very accessible to it’s visitors but not so easy if you are not used to trekking in high mountain areas.
There are some Challenges you might face while trekking to everest base camp
. Altitude sickness(biggest danger is being at high altitude where your body gets less oxygen which can cause AMS, which can be fatal if it develops to HACE or HAPE. Do research more on this topic).
. Extreme weather and flight cancellation(weather is unpredictable so the flight can be delayed or you might not land in lukla and get diverted for hours to an airport in the middle of nowhere before finally having to land)( pre information is highly required to trek in nepal)
. Food stomach troubles and tea house conditions (If you are not careful while choosing tea houses and guest houses for your spending your night you might get stomach troubles due to not so good conditions of few tea houses, and trust us everest region is no good place to get your stomach ache, so it is highly recommended to spend few extra dollars and stay in a good quality hotel)
