I got married (in a castle!) recently and haven't had time for Photography. Hopefully I will soon.

Look within. Within is the fountain of good, and it will ever bubble up, if thou wilt ever dig.

Have you ever noticed how infrequently you see a Fulmar's feet? That's because they are usually tucked in when they are flying, and as soon as they land they sit right down covering the feet with their body (like this: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/51210705849/in/photolist ). That's why you never see them standing like a gull. But Fulmars are predominantly water birds, and webbed feet facilitates swimming, but is essential for large birds to be able to take off from water using a run up like this. Frigatebirds are unusual seabirds in that they don't have webbed feet (see here: www.flickr.com/photos/timmelling/16639451286/in/photolist ). So you will never see one landed on the water. So when they need a rest they have to fly to shore, or sit on a ship's rigging.

So back to Fulmars; The name Fulmar translates from old Norse as foul gull, from its habit of regurgitating oil when threatened. But it isn't a gull at all, it's a petrel with a characteristic tube on its bill. And believe it or not, the rancid oil was once highly prized as it was erroneously thought to have medicinal properties. This was photographed on St Kilda and the significance of this for Fulmars is that until the mid eighteenth century St Kilda was the only British breeding site. It colonised Shetland in 1878 when 12 pairs appeared on Foula, arriving probably from Iceland via the Faeroes, and during the following century it colonised almost the entire coast of Britain. It is not clear what caused the spread but they may have benefited from feeding around whaling ships.

At the turn of the Millennium there were more than half a million pairs breeding in Britain, although there is evidence of a recent decline and there are currently only 350,000 pairs, which is quite a drop. So it is currently amber listed (25-50% decline) but red-listed in Europe (>50% decline).

It is an ever changing city. You can see a blank face on the Liver Building clock. The huge hands (bigger than Big Ben's) are being refurbished. In the background, the wind turbines can just be seen on the other side of the Wirral.

A cricket ball survives through the hardest hits ... first .. the baller throws it ... it bounces off the ground ... then the batter hits it with his hard woden bat ...

and .... when she losses all the hope ...

a fielder catches it before hitting the ground ...

so dont get frustrated... and as many hits you get .... in the end ... the fielder will come...

Every single sunset or sunrise photograph is individual and it provides us with a different colour and cloud formation every time we see one, no two pictures are the same with colours of orange, red, yellow and pink to name but a few and as you experience each one it's mood changes with every single second.
