Can you create a venue for club events?

I received a request,

I made American downtown street.

I have never been to the United States. 😆

This is the town I imagine.

In May, two events were held at this venue.

Organizer's friends, customers who came, DJs

I was pleased that everyone had a good time.

To commemorate, my best friend made a video.🎥

The image may be different from the real town...

Please laugh there. ァ '`,、'`,、('∀`) '`,、'`,、

Have a good weekend☆彡

Continuing our adventure with a visit to Bisbee Arizona.

This is a door to the Courtyard Event location on Brewery Gulch. These are iron doors. The handles are pick heads. Very rustic.

Located in the heart of Old Town Bisbee, The Courtyard is an oasis in the center of Historic Brewery Gulch.

We specialize in private events, boutique weddings & elopements. We host art, music & community gatherings and offer overnight stays.

The original two buildings that stood in its place burned down in the devastating 1908 Bisbee Fire. Over time the block was redeveloped, to later be rebuilt in 1939. The adjoining lot was turned into a garden. Today that lot is now our luscious outdoor courtyard – inspiring the our current name ‘The Courtyard.’

About The Courtyard

Located in the heart of old town Bisbee, The Courtyard is an oasis in the center of the historic Brewery Gulch. Enter through the 100-year-old iron gates and find yourself in the midst of a stonework garden complete with a terraced stage, a water feature, and a 25ft Mexican Fan Palm. An Eames-era outdoor fireplace is there for warming conversation. The inside lounge radiates old-world charm with marble floors, chandeliers, and a beautiful serving bar. Perfect for smaller intimate weddings, featuring two charming BnB rentals onsite!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisbee,_Arizona

Bisbee is a city[5] in and the county seat of Cochise County[6] in southeastern Arizona, United States. It is 92 miles (148 km) southeast of Tucson and 11 miles (18 km) north of the Mexican border.

Bisbee was founded as a copper, gold, and silver mining town in 1880, and named in honor of Judge DeWitt Bisbee, one of the financial backers of the adjacent Copper Queen Mine.

Today, the historic city of Bisbee is known as "Old Bisbee" and is home to a thriving downtown cultural scene. This area is noted for its architecture, including Victorian-style houses and an elegant Art Deco county courthouse. Because its plan was laid out to a pedestrian scale before the automobile, Old Bisbee is compact and walkable. The town's hilly terrain is exemplified by the old four-story high school; each floor has a ground-level entrance.

Natural vegetation around Bisbee has a semi-desert appearance with shrubby acacia, oak and the like, along with cacti, grass, ocotillo and yucca. The town itself is much more luxuriant with large trees such as native cypress, sycamore and cottonwood plus the introduced ailanthus and Old World cypresses, cedars and pines. Palms are capable of growing tall, but are not reliably hardy. At least one mature blue spruce may be seen.

Haiku thoughts:

Bisbee's walls whisper—

echoes in brick and copper,

time sleeps in sun-warmth.

The area that was to become West Palm Beach was settled in the late 1870s and 1880s by a few hundred settlers who called the vicinity "Lake Worth Country." These settlers were a diverse community from different parts of the United States and the world. They included founding families such at the Potters and the Lainharts, who would go on to become leading members of the business community in the fledgling city. The first white settlers in Palm Beach County lived around Lake Worth, then an enclosed freshwater lake, named for Colonel William Jenkins Worth, who had fought in the Second Seminole War in Florida in 1842. Most settlers engaged in the growing of tropical fruits and vegetables for shipment the north via Lake Worth and the Indian River. By 1890, the U.S. Census counted over 200 people settled along Lake Worth in the vicinity of what would become West Palm Beach. The area at this time also boasted a hotel, the "Cocoanut House", a church, and a post office. The city was platted by Henry Flagler as a community to house the servants working in the two grand hotels on the neighboring island of Palm Beach, across Lake Worth in 1893, coinciding with the arrival of the Florida East Coast railroad. Flagler paid two area settlers, Captain Porter and Louie Hillhouse, a combined sum of $45,000 for the original town site, stretching from Clear Lake to Lake Worth.

On November 5, 1894, 78 people met at the "Calaboose" (the first jail and police station located at Clematis St. and Poinsettia, now Dixie Hwy.) and passed the motion to incorporate the Town of West Palm Beach in what was then Dade County (now Miami-Dade County). This made West Palm Beach the first incorporated municipality in Dade County and in South Florida. The town council quickly addressed the building codes and the tents and shanties were replaced by brick, brick veneer, and stone buildings. The city grew steadily during the 1890s and the first two decades of the 20th century, most residents were engaged in the tourist industry and related services or winter vegetable market and tropical fruit trade. In 1909, Palm Beach County was formed by the Florida State Legislature and West Palm Beach became the county seat. In 1916, a new neo-classical courthouse was opened, which has been painstakingly restored back to its original condition, and is now used as the local history museum.

The city grew rapidly in the 1920s as part of the Florida land boom. The population of West Palm Beach quadrupled from 1920 to 1927, and all kinds of businesses and public services grew along with it. Many of the city's landmark structures and preserved neighborhoods were constructed during this period. Originally, Flagler intended for his Florida East Coast Railway to have its terminus in West Palm, but after the area experienced a deep freeze, he chose to extend the railroad to Miami instead.

The land boom was already faltering when city was devastated by the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane. The Depression years of the 1930s were a quiet time for the area, which saw slight population growth and property values lower than during the 1920s. The city only recovered with the onset of World War II, which saw the construction of Palm Beach Air Force Base, which brought thousands of military personnel to the city. The base was vital to the allied war effort, as it provided an excellent training facility and had unparalleled access to North Africa for a North American city. Also during World War II, German U-Boats sank dozens of merchant ships and oil tankers just off the coast of West Palm Beach. Nearby Palm Beach was under black out conditions to minimize night visibility to German U-boats.

The 1950s saw another boom in population, partly due to the return of many soldiers and airmen who had served in the vicinity during the war. Also, the advent of air conditioning encouraged growth, as year-round living in a tropical climate became more acceptable to northerners. West Palm Beach became the one of the nation's fastest growing metropolitan areas during the 1950s; the city's borders spread west of Military Trail and south to Lake Clarke Shores. However, many of the city's residents still lived within a narrow six-block wide strip from the south to north end. The neighborhoods were strictly segregated between White and African-American populations, a legacy that the city still struggles with today. The primary shopping district remained downtown, centered around Clematis Street.

In the 1960s, Palm Beach County's first enclosed shopping mall, the Palm Beach Mall, and an indoor arena were completed. These projects led to a brief revival for the city, but in the 1970s and 1980s crime continued to be a serious issue and suburban sprawl continued to drain resources and business away from the old downtown area. By the early 1990s there were very high vacancy rates downtown, and serious levels of urban blight.

Since the 1990s, developments such as CityPlace and the preservation and renovation of 1920s architecture in the nightlife hub of Clematis Street have seen a downtown resurgence in the entertainment and shopping district. The city has also placed emphasis on neighborhood development and revitalization, in historic districts such as Northwood, Flamingo Park, and El Cid. Some neighborhoods still struggle with blight and crime, as well as lowered property values caused by the Great Recession, which hit the region particularly hard. Since the recovery, multiple new developments have been completed. The Palm Beach Mall, located at the Interstate 95/Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard interchange became abandoned as downtown revitalized - the very mall that initiated the original abandonment of the downtown. The mall was then redeveloped into the Palm Beach Fashion Outlets in February 2014. A station for All Aboard Florida, a high-speed passenger rail service serving Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, and Orlando, is under construction as of July 2015.

Nestled in San Francisco's Marina District, the Palace of Fine Arts stands as an enduring symbol of architectural grandeur and historical significance. Originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, the palace was designed by renowned architect Bernard Maybeck, who drew inspiration from ancient Roman and Greek architecture. The intricate Corinthian columns and the massive central rotunda create a sense of classical elegance that contrasts beautifully with the surrounding lagoon and lush greenery.

Although intended to be a temporary structure, the Palace of Fine Arts became so beloved by locals that it was rebuilt in the 1960s with more durable materials, preserving its iconic beauty. Today, it serves as a serene escape for both residents and visitors alike. You’ll often find people strolling around the tranquil lagoon, capturing photos of the stunning reflections in the water, or enjoying a peaceful picnic on the lawns.

As you explore, notice the intricately detailed friezes and sculptures, which tell stories of Greek mythology and human creativity. The Palace also houses an event venue in its adjoining exhibition hall, making it a popular location for weddings, corporate events, and even Hollywood films.

For those seeking a quieter San Francisco experience, this hidden gem is a must-visit, offering a perfect blend of history, art, and nature. Whether you’re drawn by its romantic architecture or the peaceful atmosphere, the Palace of Fine Arts invites you to step back in time while remaining rooted in the heart of a modern, vibrant city.

The Port of Valencia handles merchant shipping of all types and goods from almost every major economic sector in Spain. The port also has regular passenger ferry traffic to and from the Balearic Islands and Italy. Next to that, the port has a large marina called Marina Real Juan Carlos I. It was built to host the 32nd America's Cup in 2007. It is located next to Las Arenas beach and situated just north of the commercial port. The Royal Marina has two docks - one outer and one inner. The outer dock is made up of the north and south docks - both of these provide shelter for the entrance and exit of boats. The inner dock is used only for vessels that are more than 30 metres long. Both docks have room for over 600 vessels from 10 to 150 metres in length.

This is the America's Cup Building, also known locally as Veles e Vents. The building was designed by the British architect David Chipperfield and was completed within just eleven months of winning the competition (June 2005). This centrepiece of the Valencia’s port, Veles e Vents not only provided a central base for all of the America’s Cup teams and sponsors, but also functioned as a venue from which the public could view the racing.

A series of elevated public spectator decks stretch out from the building into the port and , overlooking a newly excavated canal that links the port to the open sea. To the north, a park links the city to this new seafront. The four-floor concrete building is composed of stacked and overlapping horizontal planes that provide shade and uninterrupted views out to sea. Cantilevered floor slabs create the outdoor viewing decks that surround each floor. Outdoor space comprises more than half of the building, and is directly connected to the new park, under which an extensive car park has been built.

The building utilises few materials. White painted steel trims the edges of the concrete structure, the ceiling is constructed of white metal panels incorporating linear recessed lighting, the external floors are solid timber decking, and those inside are white resin. Simple, brightly coloured furniture offsets the predominant whiteness of the structure and distinguishes the different areas within the building.

The design has won numerous architectural awards, including the 2006 Emirates Glass LEAF Award and the Royal Institute of British Architects European awards in 2007. It was also nominated for the Stirling Prize in 2007.

Technical Stuff

One shot at f16.0, 1/320, -2/3 stop and 250 ISO. Post-production was done with PS CC and comprised of primarily balancing the lighting conditions. A white building with rather large areas of shade can proof challenging in such weather. And of course the desaturation by using a black-and-white layer set to 90%. Finally I added the copyright watermarks. The latter is, alas, there to stay due to the frequent copying of my photos. So, don't bother commenting on that.

Garance from France. After spending nearly two years in this distant land, took a detour in Sydney with a gorgeous simile on her face. “I packed bananas 🍌 then I picked avocados 🥑 and worked in a... just with... horses 🐎” – she continued sharing stories about her time in Australia. (See more in the video linked bellow). Her demanding job in the stud house in Melbourne, and the heartwarming memory of forging a great friendship in a foreign land, would surely make her story an inspiration for many upcoming travelers.

April 30, 2022 - "The first stone of this neo-Gothic, cross-shaped basilica was laid in 1872.

The building of the Vondel church is closely connected to the building of the 'Vondelstraat'. Pierre Cuypers designed the houses at street numbers 36, 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48 as well as 73, 75, 77 and 79 (Cuyper's residence).

Cuypers, also the architect of Centraal Station, Rijksmuseum and Posthoornkerk, built the Vondelstraat as a property developer. And, in keeping with his vision of the ideal community, he built a church right in the midst of the houses.

Catholic church

The Vondelkerk had been in use for Catholic worship from 1880 to 1977 as church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. When the severely-neglected building was threatened with being demolished, a plan for its renovation was drawn up.

The Vondelkerk is no longer used for church services. The middle nave of the Vondelkerk is now used for weddings, dinners, receptions, lectures and musical events or other cultural activities." Previous description: www.amsterdamsights.com/attractions/vondelkerk.html
