Bessy is trying to get into her customary place in the evening. She sits in my lap as I watch tv. She usually is joined by City after he is done playing with his toy. I have gotten use to holding a combined weight of 90 pound each evening.
Gracie and Charlie spend some time on the cushy sofa, since they've had to spend all day sleeping on their dog beds in the kitchen. Gracie especially loves her sofa time...
Every evening Tasku has a mad five minutes when she bounds back and forth between study and kitchen, toy in mouth and yodelling or barking. She will always stop and spit the toy out if she sees me set the camera up, this one was a sneaky shot using pop up flash, hence the horrible look to her eyes - tried to correct in processing but still not good. I also converted to black and white (coffee in Perfect Effects) and reduced the opacity, then brought back the colour of her toy.

Bessie has a nightly routine, she comes into the livingroom for her television time at 7:00 and plays until 8:00. She knows that it is treat break at that time and she lets you know! She is ready for a little nap right after treats and she snoozes until 10:00 when she gets a few more kibbles before bedtime.
This is my evening ritual in the summer days.
After the dinner, I will go out to the backyard with Puss Tabby, my cat and enjoy the setting sun and the cooling air. I will read and Puss will stay besides me.
The setting sun is producing the elongated shadow with my patio table. This is what Puss and I will see in the yard.
Happy summer to everyone!
Our evening ritual has been pretty much the same for the majority of his little life. Bath (every other day, unless Mommy is being particularly lazy), brush teeth, story (currently reading "Superfudge" which is fun because it was a favorite of mine as a child) and then, if it's not too late, 15 minutes or so of Scooby Doo.
It's my favorite time of the day. OUR time to snuggle and chat. Oh how sad I will be when he outgrows bed and storytime with Mommy. For now, I will cherish it.
My 4 1/2 year old always spends time with Daddy while I rock the baby to sleep. I was able to sneak out of the room and capture these moments of intense concentration.
I'm so sleepy, so I might be hitting the hay rather early tonight (it's 9:30 PM EST). But before I do, here's a quick snap of the stuff going into my backpack tonight, for tomorrow's classes. (Two notebooks, my Moleskine planner, and two manila folders full of readings.) In the morning, I'll toss my camera and my lunch in as well.
Good night!
I was just browsing through photos from last year and found this. It was really underexposed as I was just adjusting my camera still it caught my eye. I've tried to fix it because I love the quiet peacefulness of the moment. My kids hardly stop for a second.
(These are times when I am happy I shoot RAW...) :)
PS: and I feel so proud of my DIY "pseudo fireplace" that I managed to finish just before Christmas. ;)

My son reads in bed every night without fail...usually with one of his stuffies by his side :)
while he's busy keeping our papers & bills.. i'm so enchanted with the books he bought for me.. :) the neopolitan cheesecake too makes this night so sweet! :)
The last few minutes of the day are often my favorite. They are usually filled with questions, cuddles, giggles, and prayers.

Week 1 Evening Rituals: After my little one is read to, sang to, and we say our prayers, I get to go downstairs and clean up his toys :) He is sick right now... I miss the toys being scattered even more than this all over his playroom... my living-room :)
Came upon this scene last night.
And she hardly even jumped when I yelled,
"Don't move! I need this shot for my project!"

The theme for week one was "Evening Rituals." Just about every night I read before going to sleep. Sometimes I can't go to sleep until I've done some reading...and sometimes I can't sleep because I get too into my book.
Agenda:
- Browse MLS for homes I cannot afford.
- Catch up on my often neglected RSS feeds.
- Look at the adoptable cats (ooh! kitties!)
- If I'm really bored, blog.
- Repeat at random.
It's getting to the point where I HAVE to have some coffee in the evening...so decaf it is, if I want to get any sleep.
One of our evening rituals includes our Lab Retriever making sure she finds just the right spot on the bed for her and her favorite toys.....then giving goodnight kisses to us!
I processed this with PTM's "Washed Out Vintage" from the action set "Coffee House."

A good movie on mommy's ipad, his pacifier and the must-have: stroking his own hair.
#aprillove2015, Day 12: #EveningRituals Lately, I have been finding myself looking at photos of my lovely nephew before bed. He will be turning 2 in a month. It really does feel like yesterday I met him for the first time in #SanFrancisco. Where has the time gone?

1/52 Evening Routine
I take care of the cutest little guy and every evening before his momma comes to get him we sit and snuggle, that night was no exception because he was pretty tired. He had made the choice not to take a nap.
No nap means really fussy and tired later...

Antoine and François know each one of the goats by its name and its age. Together, it takes them half an hour to milk them all and they always know, which of the goats already have been milked by themselves or by the friend.
[Now there's a goatling among them which is called Kassandra... :-)))]

...from a dynamic idea, but executed a little sloppier.
I didn't head into this with the intention to copy, rather I caught sight of my desk lamp swimming in my tea and remembered a picture I saw earlier this week. For what it's worth (a few pesos perhaps on a really really good day), drinking tea at least 3 nights a week was a resolution of sorts. I'm happy to report that almost 2 weeks into this new year/decade, I am consistently meeting this resolution.
Thanks Jerry! :)
