Always take a moment even when you are busy indoors, to look out your window, because you never know who may be visiting your yard!
"A male Evening Grosbeak" was feeding at the feeder while his mate was perched up high in a tree keeping watch. He fed on the Safflower seeds for a while before landing on a nearby branch, giving me a chance to capture a few shots before he and his mate took to the air together.
Evening Grosbeaks are numerous and widespread, but populations dropped steeply between 1966 and 2015, according to the North American Breeding Bird Survey—particularly in the East where numbers declined by 97% during that time. Partners in Flight estimates a global breeding population of 4.1 million, with 71% spending some part of the year in the U.S., 57% in Canada, and 5% living in Mexico. Evening Grosbeak rates a 13 out of 20 on the Continental Concern Score and is on the 2016 State of North America's Birds' Watch List, which includes bird species that are most at risk of extinction without significant conservation actions to reverse declines and reduce threats.

As evening descends over the Rocky Mountains with Union Pacific's Moffat Tunnel Subdivision therein, the rumble of a train can be heard through South Boulder Canyon as they work their way up the 2% grade into Pinecliffe, Colorado. Framed from atop tunnel 29, we see an empty UP westbound oil train pass the sight of the daylighted tunnel 28 in the backdrop, then wrapping around the bend past the Boiling Gulch just before entering the east portal of the short tunnel 29.
The roar of six locomotives working their train through some of the most impressive railroad engineering for its time, the sounds of the South Boulder Creek below and the cool evening air all from my vantage point overlooking the canyon was truly breathtaking and a mere image just cannot do justice.
Abends an der Weser, nähe den Tiefer-Arkaden in Bremen. Alter Mann braucht seine Pause und ich sitze auf einer Bank, da kommen die Ruderer vorbei.
Evening on the Weser, near the Tiefer Arkaden in Bremen. An old man needs a break, and I'm sitting on a bench when the rowers pass by.
A lake doesn't have to be deep to impress with a beautiful atmosphere in the evening. This lake is 1 m deep on average. You can stand in the middle of the lake :). Nevertheless, it fills you with lake mood.

The evening sun was casting that fine haze over the meadow. I took this with the lighting at 11 o'clock ANGLE (on the clock). It was taken in the evening - but you can see the exact time if you check the EXIF.
Evening Rose - Approximately 2-year old female Bobcat next to a wild rose. It was great to see this beautifully patterned individual after several months. I imagine mortality is high for juvenile Bobcats, but she seems to have been doing well overall despite being a little thin.
Species: Bobcat (Lynx rufus)
Location: Northern California, CA, USA
Equipment: Canon EOS R5 + EF 100-400mm IS II
Settings: 1/320s, ISO: 2000, f/5.6 @400mm, Handheld (Electronic Shutter)

Usually these birds move in flocks, but we have just one in the yard. It has been around for several days now.
Coccothraustes vespertinus
The Evening Grosbeak is a songbird without a song—that is, it does not seem to use any complex sounds to attract a mate or defend its territory. It does have a small repertoire of simple calls, including sweet, piercing notes and burry chirps.
I feel like these look like what you'd get if you asked a 5-year old to draw a brightly colored bird.
