Villefranche-de-Rouergue est une commune du sud de la France située dans le département de l'Aveyron (12), dont elle est sous-préfecture, en région Occitanie. La ville possède le label «Grand Site d'Occitanie» ainsi que celui de «Ville d'art et d'histoire» avec le «Pays des bastides du Rouergue».

Collégiale Notre-Dame-de-la-Carce de Marvejols

L'église primitive date du 12ème siècle. Son nom lui vient d'une légende qui lui est associée. Un prince de la maison d'Aragon (qui possédait le Gévaudan au 12ème siècle) était retenu prisonnier, et aurait été libéré par l'intercession de la Vierge Marie. C'est la raison pour laquelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Carce (c'est-à-dire de la prison) est vénérée à Marvejols. Elle devient une collégiale en 1310. La collégiale est détruite durant les guerres de religion, en 1586, lorsque les troupes d' Anne de Batarnay de Joyeuse rasent Marvejols en réponse aux ravages des troupes protestantes de Matthieu Merle. C'est à partir de 1654 que l'édifice est reconstruit, et c'est celui qui se dresse toujours à Marvejols.
The early church dates from the 12th century. Its name comes from a legend associated with it. A prince of the house of Aragon (who owned Gevaudan in the 12th century) was held prisoner, and would have been released by the intercession of the Virgin Mary. This is the reason why Notre-Dame-de-la-Carce (that is to say the prison) is venerated at Marvejols. It became a collegiate church in 1310. The collegiate church was destroyed during the religious wars, in 1586, when the troops of Anne de Batarnay de Joyeuse razed Marvejols in response to the ravages of the Protestant troops of Matthieu Merle. It is from 1654 that the building is rebuilt, and it is the one that still stands in Marvejols.

Le "Ville d'Angers" sur les bords de la Mayenne à Montreuil-Juigné.
La piste cyclable qui permet de suivre la Mayenne sur sa rive droite (Ouest) ayant été coupée par des éboulements consécutifs à de récentes fortes pluies, le "Ville d'Angers" participe aux travaux de réparation des berges.

Caractéristique de l'art militaire de Séré de Rivières, le fort du Pic Charvet (ou Picciarvet) protégeait la ville de Nice, devenue française en 1860, d'une éventuelle agression italienne. Il participe à la maîtrise de la voie stratégique de la vallée du Var ainsi que de la vallée de la Tinée. L'édifice, construit entre 1883 et 1890, occupe un promontoire rocheux qui contrôle la confluence de la Tinée et du Var, au nord de Nice. Il a été occupé par des Chasseurs alpins (96° RAM ou 158° RAP) jusqu'à la Seconde guerre mondiale.

The fort of Pic Charvet protected the city of Nice, which became French in 1860, from a possible Italian aggression.. It participates in the mastery of the strategic route of the Var valley as well as the Tinée valley. The building, built between 1883 and 1890, occupies a rocky promontory that controls the confluence of the Tinée and the Var, north of Nice. It was occupied by French Alpine Hunters (96° RAM or 158° RAP) until the Second World War.
