Excerpt from Wikipedia:
The Flößerbrücke is a road bridge over the Main in Frankfurt am Main . It connects at Mainkilometer the Obermainanlage in the city center with the Deutschherrnufer in Sachsenhausen. The bridge crosses the Main at an angle of about 70 degrees to the river. It is also the only road bridge in downtown Frankfurt that is supported by a pylon .
The first raft bridge was built in 1964 as a temporary solution to accommodate traffic during the renovation of the Old Bridge to the west. The current bridge was built between 1984 and 1986.
The raft bridge is a one-way street in a northerly direction. The federal highway 3 runs over the bridge .

Please have a look at my albums:
This is the imposing building of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt (Germany) near the river Main which was completed in March 2014. With its 185 m (607 ft) and 45 storeys it is the 7th tallest building in Frankfurt.
I did some processing on the photo, because somehow it didn‘t like the - original - blue sky.
The Ostbahnhof building is now being torn off. The protesters whose camp was evicted a while ago were unhappy about the construction of a parking lot there. Whether that's still the plan?

Today you once again have a slightly different view of Frankfurt at night.
I'm standing here on the iron plank (a well-known pedestrian bridge over the Main) and behind me the famous skyline is shining into the night.
But today we're looking in the opposite direction. The view is significantly less spectacular, but in my opinion no less interesting (and a lot more contemplative).
There is also a lot to discover here, such as the beautifully illuminated Epiphany Church on the right and the headquarters of the European Central Bank on the left.

Time, time, time,
See what's become of me
Time, time, time,
See what's become of me
While I looked around for my possibilities.
I was so hard to please.
Look around,
Leaves are brown,
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter.
Hear the Salvation Army band.
Down by the riverside
Bound to be a better ride
Than what you've got planned.
Carry your gun in your hand.
Look around,
Leaves are brown,
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter.
Hang on to your hopes, my friend.
That's an easy thing to say,
But if your hopes should pass away
Simply pretend that you can build them again.
Look around,
The grass is high,
The fields are ripe,
It's the springtime of my life.
Seasons change with the scenery;
Weaving time in a tapestry.
Won't you stop and remember me
Look around,
Leaves are brown,
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter.
Look around,
Leaves are brown,
There's a patch of snow on the ground.
Look around,
Leaves are brown,
There's a patch of snow on the ground.
Look around,
Leaves are brown,
There's a patch of snow on the ground.

Damn... that thing is not much older than me, if at all.
From time to time I start getting the notion I have accumulated too many cameras and could sell some off. The Canon gear always sounds like a prime candidate, but then I take it for a walk, and it turns out that sale can wait. Specially since it would mean letting go a very nice - albeit a tad bit heavy - zoom lens.
And yes, this the the European Central Bank in the background.

Chantré is more than just a Pennerglück! Look closely and you will see a little picture exhibition showing a photographer's views of the Osthafen a few decades ago. I noted the webpage, but can't find it.

When I was young
I never needed anyone
And making love was just for fun
Those days are gone
Living alone
I think of all the friends I've known
But when I dial the telephone
Nobody's home
All by myself
Don't wanna be
All by myself
Anymore
