Alistair had been harrowing Mitgardian farms for a few years now. But the minotaurs weren't making as much progress on their mission as he had hoped.
His men all agreed that the humans needed to be stopped from using beasts as their servants. But with not enough resources at their disposal they needed help. So Alistair reached out to someone he thought would be sympathetic to their cause.
This is another part of Osric Isentooth's story. It took me nearly a year to continue, errw. But nevermind, things get serious as the final war between the resistance and the Black Spire will determine the fate of Historica!

The streets of Reecee are often described as a smuggler's heaven. For the last decade, the pirate lords that control the planet have made it a lucrative port for less-than-legal enterprise. Independents, Crimson Dawn, and Black Sun loiter and stalk the alleys and bars. The auction houses, smoking dens, and drinking parlors of the city are full of danger and riches.

Note: So the story behind this build is that I originally planned to use this building for another moc, but as I progressed, it felt like I didn’t achieve the look that I wanted in regards to the building. Thus, I took the building, modified it a tad, and bam. This is the end result.
This is a trend apparently and I figured why not?
But yeesh, I gotta build more! This is more or less a collection of everything I've built for the past year, specifically the things I think are worth showing again. Largely, this is my Forms of Gotham collection, which has rather put me off building brick figures for a while honestly...all that said, the experience of building them and seeing people's reactions towards them at Brickworld Chicago were worth all the tens of hours I spend on them.
And All the Powers of Hell was another highlight, although to be honest it did fall to the back of my mind--despite winning the Vignette award I've been hunting for years. Still, it has a place in my heart and as such is still constructed and boxed away for BW '17. Aside from the figures Batman, Catwoman, and Penguin, its the only thing that remains of my '16 Convention tour builds.
My Alien and Predators builds are something I'm proud of, even though they totally point out how I can change focus on a dime whenever anyone mentions Predators or posts a Xenomorph. To wit, I've been secretly hive building for the past half year; building another queen, gathering eggs, makin' drones, hunting down those elusive black minifigure binoculars, all for the inevitable time when I'll need them. At the moment I'm planning on building Alien something for BW '17, although that might just be the amazing Covenant trailer speaking! So no promises yet!
Before I get into the future, I first want to note the wonderful experiences I had this year with my friends at Eurobricks, both online and especially in person, as we constructed our group collab for Brickworld, Ready Set Escargot!. We put tons of hours into a truly collaborative effort and finally getting the win was icing on the cake. As we look forward to next year's build, I hope that we can continue that awesome tradition! Incidentally, I don't have any pictures of my Snail, but I made the sand blue viking one, if anyone is wondering.
---
Onto the future, one of the reasons I've not appeared to be building much (specifically in the later half) of 2016, is because I'm building for 2017! Right now I'm finishing some colorful magazine builds, but I've also locked down my convention layout concept for next year, one that'll use a lot of colors I normally wouldn't touch with a ten foot poll-- yellow, red, and orange. Brick figures will be minimal, at least until 2018, and I'm also planning two separate series of builds of the superhero variety. Either way, I can't wait to get started!
And finally, thank you to everyone for your support!

There are many explanations for the origin of the country's name of Pontilla. The natives call their country 'Pontaulis': the Land under the Sky(-God Taule), while the Northern Kingdoms refer to it as 'Terra Pontilla': the Land by the Sea, or some even claiming it refers to its position as a bridgehead between the northern and southern kingdoms of the continent.
Whichever the case, it is testament to Pontilla's varied history and culture. On the periphery of many different spheres of influence, Pontilla is a melting pot of peoples all formed into one defiant Grand Duchy. For if one would use only one word to describe the Pontillan nature, "defiance" would be it. A hardy people shaped by the harsh environment, with long cold winters and short but sunny summers.
Pontilla can be roughly split up into three main parts, which are then further divided into smaller duchies and marches. In the northeast one finds the Heartland, dominated by mountain ranges in the east which slowly sink into the earth the more you go west. There they give way to rolling hills and plains. The western end of Pontilla is characterized by the final stretches of the Great Northern Steppe, which is only sparsely populated mainly by semi-nomadic horse tribes. Finally, in the southeast of the country, beyond the mountain ridges there is the Darkwood, close to the Varcosian border. Also called Tenebriya, this area is infamous for the eponymous Darkwood: a nigh-impenetrable ancient forest that serves as a natural border with Varcosia.
The varied nature of Pontilla's geography and people is reflected in its army, which the core of men raised in the eastern parts are more akin to the troops wielded by the Northern Kingdoms, but augmented by troops raised amongst the horse peoples in the west. Together they form a small, but efficient army specializing in hit-and-run tactics and ambushes. When it does come to pitched battle, the Pontillans are known to employ wagenburg tactics to defend themselves from the powerful charge of enemy knights.

The draft for Pontilla's background has been around in a near-finished state for a while now. I should get around to finally finishing it and adding it to Jameis' Guide.

This was built for the 2022 Summer Joust. The Challenge was to build a bridge which is at least 32 Studs long. This build was quite an experiment. I started of with a shorter bridge but then choose to do a longer one which actually goes over 48 studs without supports. Then I first thought I'd just build a facade with an ugly backside. But that wasn't my style, so I took on the challenge and build a bridge that was viewable and beautiful from every angle. Problem then was, that you can't build a big bridge and place a small wooden house next to it. You only need a big bridge if you have a big house. And that's how this building developed.

THIS LOOKS LIKE FUN!
---------- Start Log ----------
Another planet, another desperate search for my goal with little to show for it. This planet looked like it had dried up years ago and nothing lives here anymore.
Then, I come over a dune in my buggy and almost fall into a huge hole in the sand. I pulled out my rappelling rope and decided this might be a bit of fun on a boring mission, and look at what I found! Those eggheads were right, the biomass life is overwhelming, it just happens to be hidden underground!
--------- End Log ---------
I had a vision when I read the planet description, and just went for it. Enjoy!
My entry for the Eurobricks May 4th Contest, Nature is After You category.
The prompt inspired me to try my had at terrain building- another building genre I've never tried before. I learned a lot form this little diorama and I think I'll try it again in the future. It was way more difficult to construct believable terrain, so props to the builders that make it look so easy! I went through a lot of different colour combos to emulate the Endor vibe but I was mostly limited by the bricks in my collection. My Bricklink wishlst has grown considerably over the course of this contest!
I never thought I’d build myself an AT-ST. With some interesting shapes and a handful of greebles, it was a very fun little project and made even more so due to the fact I didn’t have to worry about how the thing would stand on two legs! There are so many incredible MOCs of the vehicle in the community, it was hard not to be influenced by a few of them, but hopefully I’ve produced something unique.
After a long time without building LEGO I picked up my old hobby again. Well my Life changed a lot in the meantime: I met a beautiful girl and so I didn't spend much time with my LEGO. When I had a day off I met her instead of you know... building stuff. So it was real quiet in my photostream. 3 Years ago we got married and moved to a new place, one and a half hour away from both our homes (which is pretty much in Switzerland where you can cross the whole country in like 3-4 hours). Also i finished my studies and got my master of theology. Now I'm working as a youth pastor in the coolest Church (www.feg-wetzikon.ch) ever. This Spring we had a week with many children where I held a LEGO workshop. It was also a lot of fun building with some Ukrainian kids and building LEGO is a very good activity which you can do even if you don't understand each other. Yeah and that LEGO Workshop was so much fun that I decided to do something again in my freetime. And here I am, posting the first pictures since many years. So much about me ;-).
You can find the first chapter of the story here: www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/191046-a...
P.s. Many of the architecture is inspired by Settlers of Catan Duell (www.catan.de/das-duell). Michael Menzel a german board game designer made some beautiful grafics, which were truly inspirational. I can only recommend to check his work out and play his games. They're fantastic!
Built for Eurobricks' May 4th Contest, Minifigure Habitat category.
I was trying to emulate a behind the scenes ILM model department in this MOC but perhaps it comes across as a bit more of a generic workshop, but Star Wars related nonetheless!
I had a lot of fun recreating my own props for this scene like the desklamp, pots of paint, and other paraphernalia found in the workspace as well as some tiny Star Wars vehicles: the AT-AT is my favourite.

My entry in Challenge I 'A time to rebuild' in Guilds of Historica on Eurobricks.
This build is actually 3 years in the making - it started off as this build in December 2015. I then added the ground floor, then put it on my shelf where it sat for almost 3 years! As my building style has changed somewhat in that time, I completely rebuilt the base as well as adding the second level and construction equipment. The next scene will be the completed keep - hopefully that won't take another 3 years!

Considering this a Rejected Build.
I made this in...July apparently, and I wasn't able to get any good photos of it (at least the closeups I wanted). The build was for Guilds of Historica on Eurobricks; I was going to us it as a story vehicle to introduce my character(s).
I've had this picture sitting around privately on my photostream for months now, but I figured I show it off. This is the only photo I now have of the build--a few weeks back my laptop crashed, and I lost everything (like all my photo hard-copies...) but a few things I managed to save (I got some Sentinel Images, but that's it). So this will have to do.

In other news, I'm still building away for Brickworld Fort Wayne 2015. Expected online post date is Oct. 22/23. Incidentally, I've not yet decided if I'll be posting all of it...as it turns out I don't actually have time to build a tables worth from scratch, so I was forced to finish up a WIP I was building for Brickworld Chicago 2016...not sure if I want to spoil that yet! And Monday comes my Creations for Charity build; just waiting on parts--but I'm very happy with it, and excited for everyone to see the finished product.

Nimbus II
My entry into Eurobricks' May 4th contest in the ‘Imperial Ship’ category.
I’ve wanted to build one of ECHenry’s designs for some time and the build prompt from the contest provided the perfect excuse! Likewise, I often lurk among these forums so this contest provided the impetus to finally sign up.
This MOC is based on ECHenry's idea for a fighter called the Nimbus II: a ship that bridges the design between the Republic Nimbus-class V-wing and the Imperial TIE fighter. EC Henry writes:
“This fighter was the successor to the Nimbus-class V-wing. Most notably, the Nimbus II lacked the shield projector nose of the earlier V-wing. This left the Nimbus II almost completely unshielded, but it significantly improved speed, maneuverability, and power efficiency. The Nimbus II would be a common sight for the first several years of Imperial rule, before it was largely replaced by the more robust and more maintenance-friendly TIE fighter.”
As soon as I got my hands on the new Pagani windscreen elements, I wanted to give this cockpit combo a try. It’s not too much of a stretch to imagine how this design might later morph into that of the iconic TIE fighter.
There are a few details that I’m rather pleased with: the little greebles in the engines which are I think I made pretty accurate to EC Henry’s original design, as well as the wings which have the black panels reminiscent of the TIE solar panels on one side and flat grey on the other.
Finally, I squeezed a little functionality into the model: turning the gear between the thrusters at the back of the craft will rotate the wings into flight or landing position. Luckily, there’s just enough friction in the mechanism to keep the wings vertical when they need to be.
Somewhere in the Siccus Badlands, Kaliphlin, in a village called Amrakect, stood a little blue house, the house of the Centario's. Onicius Centario, the white-haired son of the house, once lived here peacefully and carefree, until one fateful day...
My entry for category "Old but Gold" of the Guilds of Historica 10th Anniversary contest. This one is a tribute to my first GoH build, which started the prologue story of my character's story (The Exetrius Saga). The idea of "Old but Gold" is to make a modern version of an old build, to show how much you have grown as a builder throughout the years. So compare this to the original build, way at the beginning of my photostream: flic.kr/p/uv9CDr

Guilds of Historica is a wonderful project and community on Eurobricks that shaped me as a builder and person. It's a fantasy worldbuilding-roleplaying game (rather laid-back) that emphasizes on creating cool builds and lore, giving constructive feedback to grow your skills, and having fun!
Does that sound good to you?
