The Eurostyle font used for the keyboard had to be redesigned because new versions of the keyboard should have more text on the keys. Which meant that the font should be condensed. Also the technique to make the characters fit into the keys was special. The plastic which was used to form the characters contained small balls which had a size of 0.2 mm. That was a requirement for the typeface. So every character could not have smaller corners than 0.2 mm.
This was on the day we collected '361' from Duple. It was always regarded as the better of the two for some reason, and I'm sure it was this one that we took to the Brighton coach rally in 1988. Do you like the colour scheme? I chose it - it was based on the 425 demonstrator's livery but changed to suit BNFL's house colours. I recall that I chose the silver and blue straight out of the Ford colour chart! For the real rivet-counters, the side fleetname was in a font called 'Seagull', I think, and the company name on the rear was in the BNFL logo typeface of Eurostyle Extended.
